The Holy Qor-aan 006:157
اَنۡ تَقُوۡلُـوۡۤا اِنَّمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ الۡـكِتٰبُ عَلٰى طَآٮِٕفَتَيۡنِ مِنۡ قَبۡلِنَا وَاِنۡ كُنَّا عَنۡ دِرَاسَتِهِمۡ لَغٰفِلِيۡنَۙ
Un ta-qoo-loo in-na-maa oon-zay-la ul-kay-taa-bo Alaa taa-aiy-fa-tai-nay min qub-lay naa Wa in koon naa un day-raa-sa-tay him la ghaa-fay-lee-n
What if you say that the Book was most certainly revealed Upon two groups before us And we have been definitely unaware of their studies.
- اَنۡ — Un — What if (= If it be. Unless it may be. A/t/a, ‘Lest’ and ‘(We have revealed this blessed Book) lest’)

The second word مَاۤ (maa) means all that, what whatever. whatsoever.
