The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                              007:045

 

وَنَادٰٓى اَصۡحٰبُ الۡجَـنَّةِ اَصۡحٰبَ النَّارِ اَنۡ قَدۡ وَجَدۡنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلۡ وَجَدْتُّمۡ مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمۡ حَقًّا‌ ؕ قَالُوۡا نَـعَمۡ‌ ۚ فَاَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌۢ بَيۡنَهُمۡ اَنۡ لَّـعۡنَةُ اللّٰهِ عَلَى الظّٰلِمِيۡنَۙ

 

Wa  naa-daa  aus-haa-bo  ol-jaun-na-tay  aus-haa-ba  un-naa-ray                                        Aun  qaud  wa-jaud  naa  maa  wa-aa-da  naa  raub-bo  naa  hauq-qaun                              Fa  haul  wa-jaud  toom  maa  wa-aa-da  raub-bo  koom  hauq-qaun                              Qaa-loo  na-aum  fa  auza-na  mo-auz-zay-noon  bain-na  hoom                                            Aun  lau-na-ta  ul-laa-hay  aa-la  uz-zaa-lay-mee-n

 

And the People of Paradise called the Inmates of Hell                                              That “We surely found true what our God had promised us.                                      So, did you find true what your God had promised you.”                                      They said, “Yes.” Then a caller among them called out                                                That the curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers.

  • نَادٰٓى — Naa-daa — Called (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Announced. Called. Conveyed; A/t/a, ‘will call out,’ ‘call out,’ ‘shall call’ and ‘will cry out’ but such verbs in the future tense, or ‘cry unto’ in the present tense, are no translation of the past tense text of the Holy Qor-aan)
  • اَصۡحٰبُ — Aus-haa-bo … (ol) — People (= n., pl., Associates; companions; residents. See Phrase O-laa-aiy-ka  aus-haa-bo  ol-jaun-nah  for more meanings. A/t/a, ‘companions, ’ ‘dwellers,’ ‘inhabitants,’ ‘inmates,’ ‘owners,’ and for this and the next word collectively ‘the blessed’)
  • الۡجَـنَّةَ — Jaun-na-tay — The Paradise  (= n., s., Big grove; Coppice. See the word above. A/t/a, Paradise,’ ‘Garden’ and ‘Heaven’)
  • اَصۡحٰبَ — Aus-haa-ba … (un) — Inmates (= n., pl., Associates; companions; residents. See Phrase O-laa-aiy-ka  aus-haa-bo  on-naar … for more meanings. A/t/a, ‘companions,’ ‘fellows,’ ‘inhabitants,’  ‘inmates’ and for this and the next word collectively ‘the damned’)
  • النَّارِ — Naa-ray — Fire (= Rapid sustained chemical reaction releasing heat and light. A/t/a, ’Hell’)
  • اَنۡ — Aun — That (= So that. A/t/a, ‘saying’)
  • قَدۡ — Qaud — Surely  (= This word lays emphasis like very definitely; surely. See Note 004:049 and our Commentary titled the ‘2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect.’  A/t/a, ‘indeed’)
  • وَجَدۡ — Wa-jaud –Found (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Came upon; discovered;  noticed; perceived; realized; saw)
  • نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us)
  • مَاۤ — Maa —  All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever; at such time; when. A/t/a, ‘that which,’ ‘… of our Lord’ and ‘what’)
  • وَعۡدَ — Wau-da — Promised (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Announced; appointed; assured; committed; declared earnestly and solemnly; fixed; pledged; set up in a covenant. A/t/a,  ‘had promised.’ But the noun as in ‘the promises’ is no translation of the text of the Holy Qor-aan text with a verb)
  • نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us)
  • رَبُّ — Raub-bo  — GOD / LORD (= The Almighty Allah who fills all needs of all creatures. Cherisher. Creator. Guardian. Lord Provident. Master. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist. See 001:002)
  • نَآ  — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us)
  • حَقًّا –Huq-qaun — Truth (= n., Absolute truth; appropriate; fair just; justification;  reality. An event that will come to pass no matter what else happens. A reasonableness that must be obeyed as an order, command or decree. Something proper as well as binding. A/t/a, ‘true,’ ‘to be true’ and ‘(to be) the truth’)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; so; thereafter; therefore; then; thus; yet)
  • هَلۡ — Hull — Did (= Word that asks. Can, could, do, did, have, is, what, will or would? A/t/a, ‘Have … too,’ ‘Have ye (too),’ ’‘Have … also’ and ‘have you’)
  • وَجَدۡ — Wa-jaud — Found (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Came upon. See وَجَدۡ above)
  • تُمُ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all.  The Holy Qor-aan has often used this word for both men and women jointly)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever; at such time; when)
  • وَعۡدَ — Wau-da — Promised (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Announced; assured;. See وَعۡدَ     above. A/t/a, ‘had promised’ and promised (warned).’ But the noun as in ‘the promises’ is no translation of the text of the Holy Qor-aan text with a verb)
  • رَبُّ — Raub-bo — GOD / LORD (= The Almighty Allah who fills all needs. See رَبُّ above)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all. See  تُمُ  above)
  • حَقًّا —  Huq-qaun — True (= n., Absolute truth; appropriate. See حَقًّا above)
  • قَالُوۡا — Qaa-loo — They said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Announced; broadcast;  called; conveyed; declared; informed; specified; told. See Commentary ‘You say means…   A/t/a, ‘They shall say’ and ‘they will say’)
  • نَـعَمۡ‌ ۚ– Na-aum — Yes (= Response in the affirmative. A/t/a, ‘Yes’ and ‘Yes, verily’)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= See  فَ  above. A/t/a, ‘but’ and ‘And’)
  • اَذَّنَ — Auz-za-na — Called (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Announced; broadcast; called conveyed; declared; informed; shouted; told. A/t/a, ‘shall proclaim,’ ‘will proclaim,’  ‘shall call,’ ‘will cry’ and ‘crieth’)
  • مُؤَذِّنٌۢ — Mo-auz-zay-noon — Caller (= n., s., Announcer; broadcaster; shouter. A/t/a,  ‘proclaimer’ and and ‘a herald’)
  • بَيۡنَ — Bai-na — Between (= Ahead, facing or in front of; Among; betwixt. A/t/a, ‘among,’ ‘amongst’ and ‘in their midst’)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • اَنۡ — Aun … (la) — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily. A/t/a, ‘Let’)
  • لَّـعۡنَةُ — Lau-na-ta … (ul) — Curse (= n., Condemnation; deprivation of God’s mercy; doom; disapproval; doomed; curse A/t/a, ‘the disapproval.’ But the verb in ‘cursed’ is no translation of the Holy Qor-aan text with a noun)
  • اللّٰهِ‌ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • عَلٰى — Ala … (uz) — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon)
  • الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ‏ — Zaa-lay-mee-n — Wrongdoers (= n., pl., Bad people. Criminals. Culprits. Doers of harm. See 002:096. Those who continually, habitually, perpetually and persistently doing wrongs. A/t/a, ‘the  wrongdoers,’ ‘these wrong-doers,’ ‘evildoers’ and   ‘Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers’)
