The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                     007:046

 

الَّذِيۡنَ يَصُدُّوۡنَ عَنۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ وَيَـبۡـغُوۡنَهَا عِوَجًا‌ ۚ وَهُمۡ بِالۡاٰخِرَةِ كٰفِرُوۡنَ‌ۘ ‏

 

Aul-la-ze-na  yaa-sood-do-na  aun  sa-be-lay  il-aa-hay                                                              Wa  yaub-ghoo-na  haa  aiy-wa-jaa                                                                                                Wa  hoom  bay  il-aa-khay-ra-tay  kaa-fay-roo-n

 

Those who stop from any cause of Allah                                                                          And seek to make it crooked                                                                                                And they are disbelievers in the Hereafter.

 

  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Aul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those articles, persons, or phenomenon or things in masculine gender. A/t/a, ‘who’)
  • يَصُدُّوۡنَ  — Ya-sood-do-na —  Stop (= v., pres., pl, 3rd person. Avert; bar; block; hinder; limit; obstruct; prevent; turn away. A/t/a, ‘hinder (men),’ ‘turn men away,’ ‘hinder men,’ ‘hinders (the people),‘ ‘hinder people’ and ‘debar (men).’ But the past tense as in ‘turned people away,’ ‘would hinder,’ ‘hindered’ and ‘debarred’ are no translations of    the Holy Qor-aan text in the present tense)
  • عَنۡ — Un — From (= About; concerning; regarding; relative to)
  • سَبِيۡلٍ — Sa-bee-l … (il) — Cause (= n., s., Action; alternative; cause, course; escape; line; means; measure; method; path; pretext; remedy; road; way. See Note 004:089 & Phrase fee-sa-be-lil-laa-hay. A/t/a, ‘path’ and ‘way’)
  • اللّٰهِ‌ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • يَبۡغُوۡنَ — Yaub-ghoo-na — They seek (= v., pres., pl, 3rd person. Aspire; attempt; desire; pursue; try; want; wish. A/t/a, ‘seek’ and ‘seeking.’ But the past tense as in ‘would seek in,’ ‘would seek to make,’ ‘would have it’ and ‘sought’ is no translation of the text of the Holy Qor-aan in the present tense. See Note 003:118)
  • هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to the path to Allah)
  • عِوَجًا‌ — Aiy-wa-jaa — Crooked (= adj., Bent; circuitous; curved; kinked; serpentine; twisted; winding. Something not straight like criminal, corrupt, deceitful, devious, dishonest, fraudulent, illegal, shady, underhanded, unlawful or unscrupulous. A/t/a, ‘crooked,’ ‘to make it crooked,’ ‘to make it appear crooked’ and ‘to make it (look as) crooked’)
  • وَ  — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ   above)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom –Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs. A/t/a, ‘they were’ and ‘who are’)
  • بِ — Bay … (il) — With (= Literally the word  بِ  means with. A/t/a, ‘in’)
  • الۡاٰخِرَةِ — Aa-khay-ra-tay — The Hereafter (= n., Ahead. Coming. Ending. Future. Last. Next. Also, Judgment Day, Resurrection. or Succeeding hour. A/t/a, ‘the life that was to come,’ ‘the life to come’ and ‘Hereafter’)
  • كٰفِرُوۡنَ‌ۘ — Kaa-fay-roo-n — Disbelievers (= n., pl. Those who denied, disbelieved, disclaimed, failed to acknowledge the truth, lacked Faith, rejected Iss-laam and God Almighty, or were thankless and ungrateful. See Commentary Believe and Disbelieve.  A/t/a, ‘disbelievers.’ The verb in the past tense in ‘denied,’ ‘disbelieved,’ ‘did not believe’ and ‘had no faith’ is no translation of the noun in the text of the Holy Qor-aan)
