The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                   007:047

 

وَبَيۡنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ‌ۚ وَعَلَى الۡاَعۡرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَّعۡرِفُوۡنَ كُلًّاۢ بِسِيۡمٰٮهُمۡ‌ ۚ وَنَادَوۡا اَصۡحٰبَ الۡجَـنَّةِ اَنۡ سَلٰمٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡ‌ لَمۡ يَدۡخُلُوۡهَا وَهُمۡ يَطۡمَعُوۡنَ

 

Wa  bai-na  ho-maa  hay-jaa-boon                                                                                                Wa  aa-la  ul-aa-raa-fay  ray-jaa-loon                                                                                            Yau-ray-foo-na  kool-laun  bay  se-maa  hoom                                                                          Wa  naa-doo  aus-haa-ba  ul-jaun-na-tay  aun                                                                            Sa-laa-moom  aa-lai-koom                                                                                                        Laum  yaud-ko-loo  haa                                                                                                                          Wa  hoom  yaut-ma-oo-n

 

And between the two is a veil                                                                                                    And on the higher grounds are people                                                                                  Who recognize all with their appearances.                                                                        And the people of Paradise called that                                                                          Peace upon you.                                                                                                                      They have not yet entered there                                                                                            A nd they look forward to do so.

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while ; yet.
  • بَيۡنَ — Bai-na — Between (= Ahead, facing or in front of; Among; betwixt. A/t/a, ‘shall divide the blessed from the damned’)
  • هُمَا — Ho-maa — Those two (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to foresaid two groups A/t/a, ‘them,’ ‘the two parties,’ ‘the two,’ ‘the two (- the Fire and the Paradise)’ and  ’shall divide the blessed from the damned’)
  • حِجَابٌ — Hay-jaa-boon — Veil (= n., Curtain; See-thru screen. A/t/a, ‘shall be a veil,’ ‘is a vail,’ ‘shall be a screen,’ ‘there shall be a partition,’ ‘a barrier’ and ‘a (barrier) screen’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • عَلٰى — Aa-la … (aul) — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon. A/t/a, ‘on … will be’)
  • الۡاَعۡرَافِ — Au-raa-fay — The higher grounds (= n., pl., Elevations. Elevated places. Higher grounds. Raised locations. A/t/a, ‘Heights,’ ‘Elevated Places,’ ‘elevated places’ and ‘Al-A’raf (a wall with elevated paces)’
  • رِجَالٌ  —  Ray-jaa-loon — People (= n., Male of the mankind; male of the human beings.  A/t/a, ‘men,’ ‘there shall be men,’ ‘stand men,’ ‘in heaven there shall be men,’ ‘there shall be men (like the Prophets and other exalted spiritual dignitaries)’ and ‘men (whose good and evil deeds would be equal in Scale’)
  • يَّعۡرِفُوۡنَ — Yau-ray-foo-na — They recognize (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Identify. Know. Recognize. A/t/a, ‘who know,’ ‘who will know’ and ‘who will recognise.’ But the past tense as in ‘who would know’ and ‘who would recognise’ is no translation of the Holy Qor-aan text in the present tense)
  • كُلًّاۢ — Kool-laun — All (= All; all and every one, time or place; entirely; wholly. A/t/a, ‘everyone,’ ‘all (of the Paradise and Hell people),’ ‘each’ and ‘each of them’)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word  بِ  means with)
  • سِيۡمٰ — See-maa — Appearances (= n., Appearances; behaviors; conditions; demeanors; life style; looks; manifestations; markings; signs; unfailing uniqueness on their faces; visible ways they talk, walk and live. Sign stamped on as if by a tattoo or hot iron. A/t/a, ‘distinguishing marks,’ ‘marks,’ ‘mark,’ ‘marks (the dwellers of Paradise by their white faces and the dwellers of Hell by their black faces),’ ‘appearance’ and look’)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom –Their (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs. A/t/a, ‘his’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See  وَ   above)
  • نَادَوۡا — Naa-do — Called (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Announced. Called. Conveyed. Cried out aloud voice. Proclaimed. Told. A/t/a, ‘They will call out,’ ‘they call out,’ ‘they call unto,’ ‘they shall call out,’ ‘they will call out,’ ‘they shall say’ and ‘who shall call to’ but such verbs in the future of present tenses are no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has described with a verb in the past tense. See Note 003:118)
  • اَصۡحٰبُ — Aus-haa-bo … (ol) — People (= n., pl., Associates; companions; residents. See Phrase O-laa-aiy-ka  aus-haa-bo  ol-jaun-nah   for more meanings. A/t/a, ‘companions,’ ‘Owners,’ ‘(prospective) inmates,’ ‘dwellers,’ ‘inhabitants,’ ‘people’ and ‘the blessed.’ See 007:045)
  • الۡجَـنَّةَ — Jaun-na-tay — The Paradise (= n., s., Big grove; Coppice. Thicket. Garden of ultimate and everlasting beauty and greenery. See 007:045)
  • اَنۡ — Un — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily)
  • سَلٰمٌ — Sa-la-moon — Peace (= n., Greetings; the action of invoking peace on another person. A/t/a, ‘Peace,’ ‘Peace be’ and Salamun Alaikum (peace be …)’
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; you; upon. A/t/a, ‘to’ and unto’)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You men. The Holy Qor-aan has often used this word for both men and women jointly)
  • لَمۡ — Laum — Not (= Absolutely never; no, not at all A/t/a, ‘not yet’)
  • يَدۡخُلُوۡ — Yaud-kho-loo — They enter (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Seek admission. Arrive.  Embrace. Gain admittance. Because  لَمۡ  (laum) came before it, this word is translated in the past tense as one translator did, i.e., ‘entered it.’ A/t/a, ‘They enter it …,’ ‘they will … have entered,’ ‘who will … have entered,’ ‘These will … have yet entered,’ ‘These (prospective inmates of Paradise) will … have (yet) entered,’ ‘they shall … join’ and ‘at that time they (men on Al-A’raf’) will … have entered it (Paradise)’
  • هَا — Haa  — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid group. A/t/a, ‘therein’)
  • وَ — Wa  — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See  وَ   above. A/t/a, ‘but,’ ‘though’ and ‘although’)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • يَطۡمَعُوۡنَ — Yaut-ma-oo-n — Look forward (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Hope to. Wish for. A/t/a, ‘hope,’ ‘hope (to enter)’ ‘will be hoping to do so,’ ‘will have an assurance (thereof),’ ‘will be hoping (for this entry),’ ‘will hope to enter (it ) with  certainty,’ ‘long to do so’ and ‘are longing to’)
