The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                 007:057

 

وَلَا تُفۡسِدُوۡا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ بَعۡدَ اِصۡلَاحِهَا وَادۡعُوۡهُ خَوۡفًا وَّطَمَعًا‌ ؕ اِنَّ رَحۡمَتَ اللّٰهِ قَرِيۡبٌ مِّنَ الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ

Wa  laa  toof-say-do  fee  il-aur-dzay  bau-da  iss-laa-hay  haa                                                  Wa  ud-oo  ho  khao-faun  wa  ta-ma-aa                                                                                          In-na  rah-ma-ta  ul-laa-hay  qa-re-boon  may-na  ul-moh-say-nee-n

 

And do not corrupt in land after its reformation                                                      And pray to Him in fear of non-acceptance and hope for acceptance.                Certainly the mercy of Allah is very near among the do-gooders.  

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • لَا — Laa — Do not (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute denial and total negation without exception)
  • تُفۡسِدُوۡا — Toof-say-doo — You corrupt (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Cause, commit, create, make, multiply or spread corruption, disorder, evil, mischief, unrest, or a law and order situation. A/t/a, ‘corrupt,’ ‘do not spread corruption,’ ‘create … disorder,’ ‘create disorder,’ ‘work … confusion,’ ‘make not mischief,’ ‘do mischief’ and ‘mischief’)
  • فِى — Fee … (il) — In (= Among. Inside a person or place. See Note 002:028. A/t/a, ‘in’ and ‘on’)
  • الۡاَرۡضِ — Aur-dzay — The earth (= n., Area; country; earth; ground; land; soil; territory.   Also, life on earth, nation; people or society in general)
  • بَعۡدَ — Bau-da — After (= Afterwards; subsequent to; succeeding)
  • اِصۡلَاحِ — Iss-laa-hay — Reformation (= n., Adjustment; agreement, alteration; amity; peace; amendment; correction; improvement; mending; modification; orderliness; reconciliation; rectification; reformation; reformation. A/t/a, ‘has been set in order,’ ‘has been set right,’ ‘has been purged of evil,’ ‘fair ordering (thereof) and ‘the fair ordering hereof‘)
  • هَا — Haa — Its (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid earth)
  • وَ — Wa … (ud) — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ   above)
  • ادۡعُوۡ  — Aud-oo — You all pray (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. In re God, you …ask, beg, beseech, call, invoke, pray, request, seek and worship. In re others, you … call for help, call or upon, claim, demand, get, invite or summon assistance. A/t/a, ‘pray,’ ‘invoke,’  ‘call on’ and ‘call upon’)
  • هُ — Hoo — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. He; him. Ref to God Almighty )
  • خَوۡفًا — Khao-faun — In fear (= adv., In the state of being afraid, frightened or scared        with or without any reason, perils or perilous condition. Also, anxiously, fearfully and in dread, fear or worry. A/t/a, ‘in fear,’ ‘fearing,’ ‘with fear’ and ‘with fear (of his displeasure)’
  • وَّ  — Wa  — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See  وَ   above)
  • طَمَعًا‌ — Ta-ma-aa — In hope (= adv., Hopefully. With expectation and greed. A/t/a, ‘in  … hope,’ ‘with hope,’ ‘with hope (of His mercy),’ ‘hoping’ and ‘longing (in your heart)’
  • اِنَّ — In-na — Certainly (= Absolutely; clearly, decidedly; definitely; doubtlessly; indeed; positively; really; surely; truly; verily. A/t/a, ‘for’ and ‘Lo’)
  • رَحۡمَتَ — Rah-ma-ta … (ul) — Mercy (= n., Beneficence. Blessing. Clemency. Compassion. Condoning. Forgiveness. Intercession. Intervention. Kindness. Leniency. Omitting, relenting or waiving punishment).
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay –Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • قَرِيۡبٌ — Qa-ree-boon — Near (= adj., Close at hand;; short distance. A/t/a, ‘is nigh unto,’ ‘is nigh,’ ‘is near,’ ‘is close,’ ‘I always close,’ ‘is always near,’ ‘is within reach’ and ‘(ever) near’)
  • مِّنَ — May-na … (ul) — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several
  •   articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon. A/t/a, ‘to’ and unto’)
  • الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ — Moh-say-nee-n — The Do-gooders (= n., pl., Those who act, doe and practice to be kind, caring, considerate, charitable, good, helpful, humane without seeking any consideration, reciprocation, quid pro quo or something for something. Altruistic. Benevolent. Philanthropic. Righteous. Sacrificing. Unselfish. Some authors narrowed the word to mean a Moslem. A/t/a, ‘who carry out their duty to the utmost,’ ‘those who do good,’ ‘those who do good deeds,’ ‘the good,’ ‘the doers of good,’ ‘the doers of good to others,’ ‘the do-gooders’ and ‘the righteous’)
