The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                 026:084

رَبِّ هَبۡ لِىۡ حُكۡمًا وَّاَلۡحِقۡنِىۡ بِالصّٰلِحِيۡنَۙ‏

Rub-bay-hub-lee-hook-mun-wa-ul-hiq-nee-bis-suaa-lay-hee-n 

God! Grant me wisdom and join me with Righteous.

  • رَبِّ — Rub-bay — Lord God (= The Almighty Allah who fills all needs of all His creatures; Creator; Master; One Who Sustain; The Lord provident; The Ultimate Provider of Air, water, food and whatever we need to live and subsist. A/t/a, ‘My Lord’  and ‘Lord’)
  • هَبۡ — Hubb — Grant (= v., pres., 2nd person. Award; bestow; bless; gift; give. A/t//a, ‘bestow.’ ‘grant’ and ‘vouchsafe’)
  • لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, person, purpose or reason of; intended for; meant for; on account of; concerning; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, ‘upon’)
  • ىۡ — Ee — Me (= pro., s., 1st person., I; me; my)
  • حُكۡمًا — Hook-mun — Wisdom (= n., Choosing after considering all cos and pros; decision-making. A/t/a, ‘wisdom,’ ‘right judgment’ and ‘strong and right judgment’)
  • وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but also; more over; though; when; while; yet)

  • الصّٰلِحِيۡنَۙ‏ — Suaa-lay-heen — The righteous (= n., pl., People who are always clean, good and holy acting piously and appropriately. Pious. Righteous. Upright. Virtuous.

وَاجۡعَلْ لِّىۡ لِانَ صِدۡقٍ فِى الۡاٰخِرِيۡنَۙ ‏

Wuj-ul-lee-lay-saa-na-sid-qin-fil-aa-khay-ree-n 

And set me up for a truthful reputation among those coming later.

  • اجۡعَلْ — Uj-ul — Set up (= v., pres., s., 2nd person. Appoint; depute; give; grant; lay down; lay upon; make; promise; raise; send; turn; vouchsafe. A/t/a, ‘ordain’)
  • لِّىۡ — Lee — For me (= For me. See  لِّىۡ   above)
  • لِسَانَ — Lay-saa-na — Reputation (= n., Communication; conversation; dialogue; good name; talk; tongue; speech. Literally and medically, the body part inside the mouth with which to talk and taste.  A/t/a, ‘honourable mention On the tongue,’ ‘mention,’ , ‘descendants to speak,’ ‘report’ and ‘renown’)
  • صِدۡقٍ — Sid-qin — Truthful (= n., Accurate; good; spoken, stated or told the truth. A/t/a, ‘truth,’ ‘true and lasting,’ ‘goodly,’ ‘good’ and ‘a noble, true and lasting’)
  • فِى — F… (il) — Among (= About. concerning; reference, regarding, relative to; in the matter of. Also, in a duration, event, time, place, period, thing or situation. See Note 002:028)
  • الۡاٰخِرِيۡنَۙ — Aa-khay-ree-n — Coming later (= n., Those people who come later or afterwards. A/t/a, ‘latest (generations),’ ‘later generations,’ ‘descendants’ and ‘posterity’)

وَاجۡعَلۡنِىۡ مِنۡ وَّرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيۡمِۙ ‏

Wuj-ul-nee-min-wa-ra-tha-tay-jun-na-tin-na-ee-m 

And set me up among the heirs to the bliss of Paradise.

  • اجۡعَلْ — Uj-ul — Set up (= v., pres., s., 2nd person. Appoint. See اجۡعَلْ above. A/t/a, ‘include’ and ‘place’)

  • جَنَّةِ — Jun-na-t … (tin) — The Paradise (= n., s., Big grove; Coppice. Thicket. Garden of ultimate and everlasting beauty and greenery. Place of immense beauty, peace and tranquility which is beyond human comprehension. The Heavens. The Orchard.   • ٱلنَّعِيم — Na-eem — Bliss (= n., Blessed; bestowed delight; good times; happy state; indulged in joys and comforts; pleasant life; prosperous with worldly favors. A/t/a, ‘bliss,’ ‘great Bliss’ and ‘Blissful’)

وَاغۡفِرۡ لِاَبِىۡۤ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّآلِّيۡنَۙ‏

Wugh-fer-lay-aa-bee-in-na-hoo-kaa-na-ma-nudz-dzaa-lee-n

And forgive my father. He surely has been among the errant.

  • اغۡفِرۡ — Ugh-fer — Forgive (= v., pres., 2nd person., Absolve; cleanse; excuse; give a pass; get rid of sins; grant protection; pardon; protect from the consequences of past sins; save from sinning in the future; wipe off clean. Accede to my begging, beseeching, desiring, imploring, praying and seeking to be excused, forgiven, overlooked and reprieved. A/t/a, ‘protect’)
