The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                       055:011 to 014

 

○    ‏ وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡاَنَامِۙ‏  ○  فِيۡهَا فَاكِهَةٌ ۙ وَّالنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ الۡاَكۡمَامِ‌ۖ‏  ○‏ ‏ وَالۡحَبُّ ذُو الۡعَصۡفِ وَالرَّيۡحَانُ‌ ○   فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏     

 

  1. Wul-ur-dza-wa-wa-dza-aa-haa-lil-anaa-m
  2. Fee-haa-faa-kay-ha-toon-wun-nukh-lo-zaa-tool-uk-maa-m
  3. Wul-hub-bo-zool-us-fay-wur-rai-haa-n
  4. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n

 

  1. And the earth He set it for the creatures
  2. In it is fruit and dates with sheathed
  3. And the seed with husk and fragrance
  4. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny

The Holy Qor-aan       055:011

وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡاَنَامِ

Wul-ur-dza-wa-dza-aa-haa-lil-anaa-m

And the earth He set it for the creatures

  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; instead; more over; rather; though; when)
  • الۡاَرۡضَ — Ul-ur-dza — The Earth (= Area; country; earth; ground; land; soil; territory)
  • وَضَعَ — Wa-dza-aa — He set up (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person., Brought forth; created;  established; firmed up; got ready; made; prepared; reserved; set up. In a different context the word could mean delivered, gave or produced. A/t/a, ‘spread out,’ ‘set,’ ‘appointed,’ ‘put down (laid),’ ‘set… for (the common good of),’ ‘set out’ and ‘laid’)
  • هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid earth)
  • لِلۡ — L…(il) — For (= For the benefit or purpose; concerning, regarding; relative to; intended for; to; towards)
  • اَنَامِ ‏ — Anaa-m — The creatures (= n., Cattle; quadrupeds. A/t/a, ‘His creatures,’ ‘(His) creatures’ and ‘all creatures’)

  فِيۡهَا فَاكِهَةٌ  ۙ وَّالنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ الۡاَكۡمَامِ‌ۖ‏  

Fee-haa-faa-kay-ha-toon-wun-nukh-lo-zaa-tool-uk-maa-m

In it is fruit and date-palms with sheaths

  • فِىۡ — Fee — In (= Amidst, among, contained or inside a place or period. About; concerning; in reference, regarding relative to. ‘Therein are’ and ‘with’)  
  • هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid earth)   
  • فَاكِهَةً — Faa-kay-ha-toon — Fruit (= n., All kinds of fruits; fruit trees)
  • وَّ — Wa…(un) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • النَّخۡلُ — Nukh-lo — Date-palms (= Palms that bear the fruit of dates. A/t/a, ‘palm trees,’ ‘palm-trees,’ ‘palm-tree’ and ‘palm’)
  • ذَاتُ — Zaa-to…(ol) — With (= In re inanimate things … Belonging to; controlled by;  giving or having. See Note 003:120. A/t/a, ‘with,’ ‘(laden) with,’ ‘producing’ and ‘bearing’)
  • اَكۡمَامِ — Uk-maa-m — Sheaths (= n., Huge sheaths; Leaves. A/t/a, ‘Spathes (enclosing dates),’ ‘sheathed,’ ‘with sheaths,’ ‘having sheathed clusters,’ ‘sheathed clusters,’ ‘sheathed fruit stalks (enclosing dates)’ and ‘blossom’)

وَالۡحَبُّ ذُو الۡعَصۡفِ وَالرَّيۡحَانُ‌ۚ‏ 

Wul-hub-bo-zoo-us-fay-wur-rai-haa-n

And the grain with husk and fragrance

  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • الۡحَبُّ — Hub-bo — The grain (= n., s., The seed from which sprouts the plant for crops     like barley, corn or kernel, lentils, rice, wheat, etc.)
  • ذُو — Zoo..(l) — With (= Belonging to; controlling; giving; having; of; one with. Also, owning; possessing. A/t/a, ‘with,’ ‘with its,’ ‘inside its’ and ‘covered’)
  • الۡعَصۡفِ — Us-fay — Husk (= n., Outer case, cover, pod, shell or worthless part of a vegetation inside which is the really valuable grain or nut. A/t/a, ‘(its) Leaves and stalk of fodder,’ ‘husk-coverings,’ ‘chaff,’ ‘husked’ and ‘(its) leaves and stalk for fodder’)    
  • وَ — Wa…(ur) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  •   الرَّيۡحَانُ‌ — Rai-haan — Fragrance (= n., Aroma; perfume; scent; nice and sweat smell. A/t/a, ‘sweet-smelling plants,’ ‘fragrant flowers,’ ‘fragrant flowery plants,’ ‘sweet-scented plants,’ ‘fragrant plants,’ ‘scented herbs’ and ‘aromatic herbs’)

○ فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏

Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n

So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny

This verse is repeated another 30 times in this Chapter as verse # 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66, 68, 70, 72, 74, 76 and 78

 

  • فَ — Fa — So (= Hence; then; thus; at the end; in conclusion; in the final analysis; consequently; finally; resultantly; therefore)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word  بِ  means ‘with’)
  • اَىِّ — Auy-yay — Which (= What. A/t/a, ‘Which is it’)
  • اٰلَاۤءِ — Aa-laa-aiy — Blessings (= n., pl., Donations; gifts; grants; favors; freebees; handouts. A/t/a, ‘bounties,’ ‘benefactions’ and ‘favours’)
  • رَبِّ — Rub-bay — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures; Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. The Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we  and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
  • كُمَا — Ko-maa — You two ** (= pro., 2pl., m., 2nd person. You both or twain. You two  bands, bunches, cliques, cults or groups.. Reference is to the bodies of men and jinn. A/t/a, ‘your’ [several authors], ‘you twain (jinn and men)’ and ‘you twain (believers and disbelievers)’)
  • تُكَذِّبٰنِ — To-kuz-zay-baa-n — You both can deny (= v., 2pl., 2nd person. Belie; contradict; decline; disagree; disapprove; discredit; disprove; rebuff; refuse; turn down. A/t/a, ‘will ye deny,’ ‘will you deny,’ ‘ye twain, O men and jinn, deny,’ ‘will you twain deny, O men and Jinn,’ ‘will you both (jinn and men) deny,’ ‘would you deny’ and ‘that ye deny’)

 

Note 055:014. Some people have referred the pronoun  كُمَا  to two, both or twain and then in parenthesis elaborated in some of the following ways.                                                                   a. Men and Jinn, Djin or jenni as stated in verses 15, 16, 34, 57 and 75 of this Chapter, or     b. Believers and disbelievers, righteous and rebellious or such terms with antonyms. **
