The Holy Qor-aan 062:006
مَثَلُ الَّذِيۡنَ حُمِّلُوا التَّوۡرٰٮةَ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَحۡمِلُوۡهَا كَمَثَلِ الۡحِمَارِ يَحۡمِلُ اَسۡفَارًا ؕ بِئۡسَ مَثَلُ الۡقَوۡمِ الَّذِيۡنَ كَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهۡدِى الۡقَوۡمَ الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ
Ma-tha-lool-la-ze-na-hoom-may-loot-tau-raa-ta Thoom-ma-lum-yah-may-loo-ha-ka-ma-tha-lil Hay-maa-ray-yah-may-lo-us-faa-raa Bae-sa-ma-tha-lool-qao-mil-la-ze-na Kuz-za-boo-bay-aa-yaa-til-laa-hay Wul-laa-ho-laa-yah-dil-qao-miz-zaa-lay-mee-n
The likeness of those who were loaded with the Torah But they did not carry the load was the likeness of The donkey who carries a load of books. Bad is the example of those who Lied with the signs of Allah. By God Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people
- مَثَلُ — Ma-tha-lo…(ol) — Likeness (= n., Case; example; likeness; resemblance; similarity; situation. Also, being alike, identical, just like, of the same kind, looks, quality, quantity, shape or type. A/t/a, ‘similitude,’ ‘The likeness,’ ‘The case of’ and ‘like’)
- ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m., 3rd person.. Refers to those articles, persons, phenomenon or things in masculine gender. A/t/a, ‘Those to whom’ and ‘those who’)
- حُمِّلُوا — Hoom-may-loo — Were loaded (= v., past., pass., pl., 3rd person. Burdened; entrusted; loaded; made responsible for. A/t/a, ‘were charged,’ ‘made to bear,’ ‘were entrusted,’ ‘are entrusted with,’ ‘was entrusted the burden of’ and ‘made subject to’)
- ٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةَ — Tao-raa-ta — The Torah (= n., The divine revelations to the Prophet Moses, p.o.h. The scripture revered by Jews. A/t/a, ‘the (obligations Of the) Mosaic Law,’ ‘Torah,’ ‘the law of Torah,’ ‘the Law of Torah,’ ‘the law of Moses,’ ‘to observe (the law of) Torah,’ ‘the Torah (the Scripture revealed to Moses’ and ‘the (obligation of the) Taurat (Torah) (i.e. to obey its commandments and to practise its laws’)
- ثُمَّ — Thoom-ma — Then (= After that; further more; subsequently; thereafter)
- لَمۡ — Lum — Did not (= Never; no, not at all. A/y/a, ‘yet… not’)
- يَحۡمِلُوۡ — Yah-ma-loo — Carry the load (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Bear burden; carry forward. Ref is to discharging responsibility that was placed. A/t/a ‘who subsequently failed In those (obligations),’ ‘they observed,’ ‘but would … bear,’ ‘apply,’ ‘carry out their obligations under,’ ‘carry out its commandments,’ ‘carry out (its commandments in its true spirit)’ and ‘observe’)
- هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid group)
- كَ — Ka — Like (= Identical; resembling; similar to the one stated in prior verse to. Take the example or similitude of)
- مَثَلِ — Ma-tha-l(il) — Likeness (= n., Example; likeness; resemblance;. See مَثَلُ above. A/t/a, ‘that of,’ ‘like the case of,’ ‘likeness’ and ‘like’)
- الۡحِمَارِ — Hay-maa-ray — The donkey (= Ass; donkey; an animal in the group of horses and ponies but smaller and shorter and used for riding and transportation)
- يَحۡمِل — Yah-ma-lo — Carries a load (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Bears burden; carries forward. See يَحۡمِلُوۡ above. A/t/a, ‘carries,’ ‘carrying,’ ‘that carries,’ ‘laden with’ and ‘bearing’)
- اَسۡفَارًا — Us-faa-raa — Load of books (= n., A library of books; bunch or load of books. A/t/a, ‘huge tomes (But understands them not,’ ‘books,’ ‘a load of books,’ ‘a load of books,’ ‘(a load of) volumes (of Books, he neither understands them nor gathers any advantage from them’ s’ and ‘huge burden of books (but understands nothing from them)’
- بِئۡسَ — Bae-sa — Bad (= adj., Appalling; awful; dire; depraved; dreadful; evil; ghastly; horrific; sad; shocking; unacceptable. Also, undesirable; unlucky; unfortunate; unpleasant; vile; worst; worst possible; wretched. A/t/a, ‘wretched’ and ‘How bad is the’)
- مَثَلُ — Ma-tha-lo…(ol) — Likeness (= n., Case; example; likeness; resemblance; similarity. See مَثَلُ above. A/t/a, ‘example’)

- وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= The وَ vaao is tantamount to taking oath; solemn declaration or calling as a witness. Normally a Conj., that links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- لَا — Laa — Does not (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute denial and total negation without exception)
- يَهۡدِىۡ — Yuh-de..(il) — Guide (= v., pres., m., s., 3rd person. He directs the best way; gives good guidance; provides opportunities with the appropriate directions; leads on level linier lines; puts on proper path. Shows sure success. Also, avoids evil to enable man reach his noble aims, goals and objects. A/t/a, ‘guides,’ ‘guide’ and ‘guides … (to success)’
- الۡقَوۡمَ — Qao-ma…(uz) — People (= n., s., Addressees; attendees; fellows; followers; folks; nation)
- الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ — Zaa-lay-mee-n — The wrongdoers (= n., pl., Bad. Criminals. Culprits. Doers of harm, hurt or injury. Evil-doers. Polytheists. Transgressors. Those who habitually cause, commit, do, practice, pursue or repeat evil or wrong. Unfair. Unjust. Violators. Wicked. A/t/a, ‘iniquitous,’ ‘unjust people,’ ‘the wrongdoers,’ ‘evildoers’ and ‘who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrongdoers, disbelievers)’
