The Holy Qor-aan        067-026

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِينَ

Wa-ya-qoo-loo-na-ma-taa-haa-zul-wau-do-in-koon-toom-saa-de-quee-n

And they say,  “When will this promise be (filled) if you were truthful.”  **

  • وَ          Wa                     And                 (= Additionally; also; although; but; in addition to; while; yet)
  • يَقُولُونَ    Ya-qoo-loo-na Say                  (= 1- Beseech; demand; invoke; object; pray; request; 2- Announce; broadcast; convey; declare; inform; preach; profess; reply; specify; state; tell)
  • مَتَىٰ       Ma-taa              When               (= At what time or situation will become a reality, come to pass, happen, materialize or precipitate)
  • هَـٰذَا        Haa-za…(l)       This                 (= The article, thing or person present before the talker)
  • ٱلۡوَعۡدُ      Wau-do           Promise           (= Announcement; earnest assurance; guarantee; pledge; threat)
  • اِنۡ         In                       If                       (= If case the situation arises; under the circumstances)
  • كُنۡتُمۡ       Koon-toom      You were         (= Have been since the past; were continuously)
  • صَـٰدِقِينَ   Saa-de-queen   Truthful        (= Accurate; honest; sincere; true to one’s word)
  • ** Note: The same words are also repeated in (010:049), (021:039), (027:072),  (034:030),  (036:049).
