Note:081:030a.   The last two word of this verse have appeared in different contexts such as the following.    Man is to thankfully pray to Allah as the Lord God of the whole wide world (001:002, 006:046, 039:076).   Adam’s son said. ‘I fear Allah who is the Lord God of the whole wide world’ (005:029)    He is full of blessings to the whole wide world (007:055).    He sent His messengers as the Lord God of the whole wide world (007:061, 007:068).    He is the absolute Controller of everything in the whole wide world (081:030).    On the Judgment Day all people will have to stand before Him as the Lord God of the whole wide world (083:007).

He is mentioned as the Provider of the whole wide world in many other places as well.  Moses was asked by Pharaoh as to who He was (026:023).    The magicians saw their magical snakes devoured by the rod of Moses and expressed their belief in Him (026:048).    Wrongdoers would admit their sin of holding the Satan and his comrades equal to Him (026:099).    Noah told his nation that the reward for trying to guide them was to come from Him (026:110).    And very similar were the resposes of other Prophets such as Hood (026:128), Sualeh (026:146), Lot (026:165), and Shoaib (026:181).

Also, Allah had conferred His blessings and preferred the children of the Israel over all other people in the whole wide world (002:047 and 002:123).    He is the Lord God of Grace and Munificent to the whole wide world (002:252).    His message is meant for the whole wide world (081:028).    See our Commentary “Repetitions in the Holy Qor-aan have benefits.” See our Commentary Repetitions in the Holy Qor-aan have benefits.

Note 081:030b.   The Rule of Universal Application provided in this verse is that nothing happens without God’s will.   He controls and has always good reason for not even a leaf falling without knowing of it (006:060).   The followers of Moses used it (002:071) to make excuses for not slaughtering the cow as mandated.   The Holy Qor-aan has stated this rule in many ways and words to make man understand it (006:066).

Reproduced also is the following. Note:003:034: The word الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَۙ‏ as used in this verse has been translated differently.

  • M Zafrullah Khan narrowed it down to mean only the “people of their times.”
  • Allama Nooruddin verbalized it for “all people of time.”
  • Dr Al-Hilali and Dr Khan extended it to mean the entire “mankind and jinn of their times.”
  • N J Dawood expanded it further by saying “all His creatures.”
