The Holy Qor-aan                                083:030         اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ اَجۡرَمُوۡا كَانُوۡا مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا يَضۡحَكُوۡنَ ۖ

                In-nul-la-zee-na-uj-ra-moo-kaa-noo-me-nul-la-zee-na-aa-ma-noo-yudz-ha-koon

               Certainly those who had sinned used to laugh at those who had believed

  • اِنَّ — In-na..(ul) — Certainly (= Absolutely; definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively; really; seriously; surely; truly; verily)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — La-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to the ‘sinners’)
  • اَجۡرَمُوۡا — Uj-ra-moo — Had sinned (= v., Committed crimes or wrongs; guilty; guilty of severing connection or ties with God)
  • كَانُوۡا — Kaa-noo — Used to (= v., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to those who had been)
  • مِنَ — Me-n…(ul) — From (= Among, from or out of a class, category, count or kind)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — La-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to the ‘believers’)
  • اٰمَنُوۡا– Aa-ma-noo — Had believed (= v., pl. 1. Believe in the Holy Qor-aan, the Islaam and become Moslems; embrace and enter the Faith; become Faithful. 2. Admit; affirm; approve; confirm;
    concur; corroborate; evidence; testify; witness)
  • يَضۡحَكُوۡنَ — Yudz-ha-koon — Laugh (= Jest; joke; kid around; mock; ridicule; scoff)

The Holy Qor-aan                                         083:031                                وَاِذَا مَرُّوۡا بِهِمۡ يَتَغَامَزُوۡنَ ۖ

                Wa-ezaa-mur-roo-bay-him-ya-ta-ghaa-ma-zoon

                And when they passed by them, they would wink

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • اِ ذَ ا — Ezaa — When (= Any time or event; now that; whenever)
  • مَرُّوۡا — Mur-roo — Passed (= Came upon walking; walked across)
  • بِ — Bay–  By / With (= The Arabic word بِ literally means ‘with’ in English)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to the ‘Believers’)
  • يَتَغَامَزُوۡنَ — Ya-ta-ghaa-ma-zoon — Wink (= Wink at one another in mockery, in a condescending gesture, insinuating ridicule. Mockingly)

The Holy Qor-aan                                         083:032                     وَاِذَا انۡقَلَبُوۡۤا اِلٰٓى اَهۡلِهِمُ انْقَلَبُوۡا فَكِهِيۡنَ ۖ

               Wa-ezun-qa-la-boo-elaa-ah-lay-hay-moon-qa-la-boo-faa-kay-heen

               And when they (sinners) returned to their family they returned rejoicing

  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid ‘sinners’)
  • انۡقَلَبُوۡۤا — Un-qa-laboo — Returned (= Came back; turned; retreated; reverted)
  • فَكِهِيۡنَ — Faa-kay-heen — Rejoicing (= Exulting; jesting; marry-making; ridiculing)

The Holy Qor-aan                                        083:033                       وَاِذَا رَاَوۡهُمۡ قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ لَـضَآلُّوۡنَ

                 Wa-ezaa-ra-auo-hoom-qaa-loo-in-na-haa-o-laa-ai-la-dzaal-loon

And when they saw them they said, “Most certainly here are real losers.”

  • اِنَّ — In-na — Definitely * (= Absolutely; certainly; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; in all seriousness; positively; really; surely; truly; verily)
  • هٰٓؤُلَآءِ — Haa-o-laa-e — Here (= pl., All these. Refers to the ‘Believers’)
  • لَ — La — Certainly * (= Absolutely; definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively; really; seriously; surely; truly; verily)
  • ضَآلُّوۡنَ — Dzaal-loon — Real losers (= Erring; lost; mislead; who fell away, have fallen to error; have gone astray; strayed away)

The Holy Qor-aan                                         083:034                            وَمَاۤ اُرۡسِلُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حٰفِظِيۡن ۙ‏

                Wa-maa-oor-say-loo-alai-him-haa-fe-zeen

               And they (sinners) were not sent as guardians over them (believers)

  • مَاۤ — Maa — Not (= Absolutely not; never; no; not at all)

  • حٰفِظِيۡن — Haa-fay-zeen — Guardians (= Guardsmen; keepers; protectors; watch)

The Holy Qor-aan                                         083:035                   فَالۡيَوۡمَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنَ الۡكُفَّارِ يَضۡحَكُوۡنَ

               Ful-yao-mul-la-zee-na-aa-ma-noo-me-nul-koof-faa-ray-yudz-ha-koon

               So this day those who believed will be laughing at the disbelievers

  • يَضۡحَكُوۡنَ — Yudz-ha-koon — Laughing (= Jesting; joking; kidding around; mocking; ridiculing; scoffing)

The Holy Qor-aan                                         083:036                                         عَلَى الۡاَرَآٮِٕكِ يَنۡظُرُوۡنَ

                Alul-araa-ekay-yun-zo-roo-n

                Seated on n the couches, seeing everything around

  • عَلٰى — Aa-l..(ul) — On (= Seated or reclining at, on. on top of, over or upon)
  • الۡاَرَآٮِٕكِ — Araa-ekay–  The couches (= Comfortable cozy soft seats; couches, high chairs; raised couches. A/t/a Thrones of dignity)
  • يَنۡظُرُوۡنَ — Yun-zo-roo-n — Seeing (= v., 1. Gazing around; watching with a commanding view of all they could see. Looking at all that eyes could survey; taking notice of.  2. Considering; reflecting; having regard for)

The Holy Qor-aan                                        083:037                          ○ هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ الۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوۡا يَفۡعَلُوۡنَ

               Hull-thoo-way-bul-koof-faa-ro-maa-kaa-noo-yuf-aloon

               Have the disbelievers been rewarded for all that they used to do?

  • هَل — Hull — Have (= Could it be; could there be a possibility? Are not?)
  • ثُوِّبَ — Thoo-way-ba — Rewarded (= Adequately and fully compensated; paid back; repaid; requited)
  • الۡكُفَّارُ —  Ul-koof-faa-ro — Disbelievers (= n., pl., Faithless; ungrateful; unbelievers)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever. 2. Any time; at such time; when; whenever)
  • كَانُوۡا — Kaa-noo — Used to (= v., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to those who were, had been or used to)
  • يَفۡعَلُوۡنَ — Yuf-aloon — Do (= Accomplishing; acting; bring about; performing; practicing; having and/or showing the ability, capability and power to do)
