The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                           004:147

 

اِلَّا الَّذِيۡنَ تَابُوۡا وَاَصۡلَحُوۡا وَاعۡتَصَمُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ وَاَخۡلَصُوۡا دِيۡنَهُمۡ لِلّٰهِ فَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ مَعَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ‌ ؕ وَسَوۡفَ يُـؤۡتِ اللّٰهُ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ اَجۡرًا عَظِيۡمًا‏

 

Il-lul-la-ze-na-taa-boo-wa-us-la-hoo-wau-ta-sa-moo-bil-laa-hay                                          Wa-ukh-la-soo-de-na-hoom-lil-laa-hay                                                                                            Fa-o-laa-aiy-ka-ma-ul-moe-may-na                                                                                              Wa-sao-fa-yoe-til-laa-hool-mo-may-ne-na-uj-run-azee-maa

 

Except those who repented and reformed and held fast with Allah                          And made their religion for Allah exclusive                                                                      Then they all will be with the Believers                                                                            And soon Allah will give the Believers a great reward

 

  • اِلَّا — Il-la…(ul) — Except (= Apart from; but; besides; excluding; save; unless.
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those in masculine gender that include all articles, things, persons or phenomenon)

Repentance Requires Reformation is the rule. It’s repeated often. See Note 002:038.

  • تَابُوۡا — Taa-boo — Repented (= v., past., pl., m., 3rd person. Asked, begged and prayed  to be excused, forgiven and pardoned. Expressed regret. Felt remorseful. Invoked compassion, kindness and mercy by admitting and confessing fault, guilt and sin.  Turned repentant  A/t/a, ‘repent,’ ‘turn with sincere repentance’ and ‘repent (from hypocrisy),’ but such verbs in the present tense are no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • اَصۡلَحُوۡا — Us-la-hoo — Reformed (= v., m., pl.,3rd person Altered and made or set things   right; brought about a change; corrected the situation; made amends; made peace. A/t/a, ‘mend (their life),’ ‘amend,’ ‘amend (themselves),’ ‘mend their ways’ and ‘do righteous deeds,’ but such verbs in the  present tense are no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
  • وَ — Wa…(u) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • اعۡتَصَمُوۡا — Au-ta-sa-moo — Held fast (= v., pres., pl., m., 3rd person. Bonded; connected; joined; linked up; stuck to. A/t/a, ‘hold fast’ but this verb in the present tense is no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
  • بِ — B…(il) — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with. A/t/a, ‘to’)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • وَ —  Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • اَخۡلَصُوۡا — Ukh-la-soo — Made exclusive (= v., pres., pl., m & f., 3rd person. Made exclusive; made special; solidified. A/t/a, ‘purify,’ ‘make … pure,’ ‘purify … (by worshiping none but Allah, and do good for Allah’s sake only, not to show off),’ ‘are sincere,’ ‘be sincere,’ ‘worship no other god besides Him’ and ‘become sincere in their allegiance’ but verbs in the present tense are no translations of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
  • دِيۡنَ — De-na —  Religion (= n., Belief system. Divine Rules. Faith. See Commentary   Islam – 106 – Religion Established Nation … A/t/a, ‘obedience’)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — Their (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Those men, they or their)
  • لِلۡ — L…(il) — For (= Concerning, regarding; relative to; intended for; to; towards)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= After all this; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; so; thereafter; therefore; thus)
  • اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ — O-laa-aiy-ka — They all (= Acts, facts, items, persons or things. A/t/a ‘it is these’
  • مَعَ — Ma-aa — With (= Along with; in company of. A/t/a, ‘will be (numbered),’ ‘among’ and ‘shall be numbered with’)
  • الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ‌ — Moe-may-ne-na — The believers (= n,. Adherents of Islam; those who enter the Faith, believe and follow the Holy Qor-aan, the Islaam and become Moslems. Men of faith. The faithful. See also the Commentary Believe and Disbelieve)
  • وَ —  Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • سَوۡفَ — Sao-fa — Very soon (= This word turns a verb in the present tense to a verb in  the near term or future. In a short while. Very closely, quickly or swiftly. Without too long a wait. Also, definitely; surely)
  • يُـؤۡتِ — Yoe-t(il) — Will give (= v., pres., pl., s,, 3rd person. Award; bestow; bless; confer; direct; donate; gift; give; grant; hand down. A/t/a, ‘shall be richly rewarded’ but saying in such passive voice is no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the active voice)
  • ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ‌ — Moe-may-ne-na — The believers (= n,. Adherents of Islam; Moslems. See الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ  above)
  • اَجۡرًا — Uj-run — Reward (= n., s. Award; good result; prize; recognition; trophy)
  • عَظِيۡمًا — Aa-ze-maa — Great (= As an adj., or adv., The word accentuates and magnifies  the impact of being Awesome, Glorious, Magnificent, Greatest, Mighty or Tremendous. A/t/a, ‘of immense value,’ ‘immense’ and ‘great’)
