The Holy Qor-aan 005:019
وَقَالَتِ الۡيَهُوۡدُ وَالنَّصٰرٰى نَحۡنُ اَبۡنٰٓؤُا اللّٰهِ وَاَحِبَّآؤُهٗ ؕ قُلۡ فَلِمَ يُعَذِّبُكُمۡ بِذُنُوۡبِكُمۡ ؕ بَلۡ اَنۡـتُمۡ بَشَرٌ مِّمَّنۡ خَلَقَ ؕ يَغۡفِرُ لِمَنۡ يَّشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ ؕ وَلِلّٰهِ مُلۡكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا وَاِلَيۡهِ الۡمَصِيۡرُ
Wa-qaa-la-til-ya-hoo-do-wun-na-saa-raa Nah-noob-naa-ool-laa-hay-wa-aa-hib-baa-o-hoo Qool-fa-lay-ma-yo-uz-zay-bay-koom-bay-zo-noo-bay-koom
Bul-un-toom-ba-sha-room-mim-mun-kha-la-qa Yugh-fay-ro-lay-mun-ya-shaa-o-wa-yo-uz-zay-bo-mun-ya-shaa-o Wa-lil-laa-hay-mool-koos-sa-maa-waa-tay Wul-ur-dzay-wa-maa-bai-na-ho-maa Wa-aiy-lai-hil-ma-see-r
And the Jews and Christians said, “We are sons of Allah and His beloved one’s.” Say, “Then why does He punish you with your sins.”
But the fact is that you surely are just mortals out of what He created. He forgives whom He wills and He punishes whom He wills. And for Allah is the Supreme Power of the heaven And the earth and whatever is between them And to Him is the Return

- النَّصٰرٰى — Na-saa-raa — Christian (= Followers of Jesus Christ)
- نَحۡنُ — Nah-no — We (= pro., pl., m & f., 1st person. Us)
- اَبۡنٰٓؤُا — Ub-naa-oo — Sons (= n., pl., This word is the plural of ابۡن (ibn) which means sons, boys, male family members or men. But the term includes children h.l.s. (how low so ever), descendants, off-springs, posterity, progeny. A/t/a, ‘son’ and ‘children’)
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- اَحِبَّآؤ — Aa-hib-baa-o — Beloved one’s (= n. pl., Beloved. A/t/a, ‘beloved ones’ and ‘loved ones’)
- هٗ — Hoo — His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
- قُلۡ — Qool — Say (= v., s, 2nd person. Ask; question. Also, admonish; call; inform; insist; instruct; maintain, persist. See قَالَتِ above. A/t/a, ‘ask them’)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= After all this; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; so; therefore; thus. A/t/a, ‘then’)
- لِ — Lay…(in) — For (= For the object, person, purpose or reason of; intended for; meant for; on account of; concerning; regarding; relative to)
- مَ — Maa — What (= For what justification or reason; why)
- يُعَذِّبُ — Yo-uz-zay-bo — He punishes (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Does, will or shall administer appropriate, due and fair agony, chastisement, doom, hard task, penalty, scourge, torment or torture. A/t/a, ‘doth punish,’ ‘does He then chastise,’ ‘doth He chastise,’ ‘does He punish’ and ‘does God chastise’)
- كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. Generally this is the way the Holy Qor-aan addresses men and women)
- بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ means with. A/t/a, ‘for’)
- ذُنُوۡبِ — Zo-noo-bay– Sins (= n., pl of s: ذُنب ; Bad and culpable acts; inappropriate conduct; crimes; errors; faults; illegal acts; misdeeds; mistakes; offices; wrongs)
- كُمۡ — Koom — Your (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. See كُم above)
- بَلۡ — Ba(ul) — But the fact is (= Aye; but; but the truth is; however; indeed; instead; in truth; nay; nevertheless; of course; on the contrary; rather; really; truthfully; verily; yea but; yes indeed. A/t/a, ‘Nay,’ ‘indeed’ and ‘But’)
- اَنۡـتُمۡ — Un-toom — Surely you (= Combination of two words. The first word is اَنۡ that means absolutely, definitely, doubtlessly, indeed, positively, really, surely, truly and verily. The second word is تُمۡ which means you)
- بَشَرٌ — Ba-sha-roon — Mortals (= Human being; mortal. A/t/a, pious, righteous or truthful person. A/t/a, ‘men, ‘mortals’ and ‘human beings’)
- مِّمَّنۡ — Mim-mun — Out of what (= From whatever. Combination of two words. The first word مِنۡ (min) means ‘among, from or out of the class, category, kind count or several persons or things.’ The second word مَنۡ (mun) means ‘what; whatever; whoever; who; whom. A/t/a, ‘among those’)
- خَلَقَ — Kha-la-qa — He created (= v., past., m., s., 3rd person. Brought into being; created; formed; originated; produced; shaped. Made from scratch to give forms and faces in due proportions. See 003:060. A/t/a, ‘He has created,’ ‘created,’ ‘of His creating, ‘like many of His creations’ and ‘of His own creation’)
- يَـغۡفِرُ — Yugh-fay-ro — He forgives (= v., pres., Does or will excuse, give a pass, overlook or pardon. Protect in future. A/t/a, ‘forgiveth,’ ‘forgives’ and ‘protects’)
- لِ — Lay — For (= For the benefit, purpose or reason; with intent to)
- مَنۡ — Mun…(ya) — Whom (= Anyone; whoever; whomever; whomsoever)
- يَّشَآءُ — Ya-shaa-o — He wills (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Does or will approve, choose, decide, decree, desire, destine, dictate, discern, like, mandate, order, please, prefer, rule, select, want, will or wish. A/t/a, ‘pleaseth,’ ‘pleases,’ ‘He will’ and ‘wills’)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases. See وَ above)
- يُعَذِّبُ — Yo-uz-zay-bo — He punishes (= v., pres., Does / will chastise, penalize. See يُعَذِّبُ above)

A/t/a, ‘final goal (of all),’ ‘eventual coming,’ ‘journeying,’ ‘shall be the return,’ ‘shall be the final return,’ ‘ the return (of all),’ ‘the (final) return (of all),’ ‘is the final destiny’ and ‘shall return to Him’)
