The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                               006:082

 

وَكَيۡفَ اَخَافُ مَاۤ اَشۡرَكۡتُمۡ وَلَا تَخَافُوۡنَ اَنَّكُمۡ اَشۡرَكۡتُمۡ بِاللّٰهِ مَا لَمۡ يُنَزِّلۡ بِهٖ عَلَيۡكُمۡ سُلۡطٰنًا ‌ؕ  فَاَىُّ الۡفَرِيۡقَيۡنِ اَحَقُّ بِالۡاَمۡنِ‌ ۚ  اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ‌ۘ ‏

 

Wa-kai-fa-aa-khaa-fo-maa-ush-ruk-toom                                                                                Wa-laa-ta-khaa-foo-na-un-na-koom-ush-ruk-toom-bil-laa-hay                                                Maa-lum-yo-nuz-zil-bay-he-alai-koom-sool-taa-naa                                                              Fa-ay-yil-fa-re-qai-nay-aa-huq-qo-bil-um-nay-in-koon-toom-tau-la-moo-n

 

And how can I fear what you ascribe as partners                                                            And you do not fear what you ascribe partners with Allah                                    For what no authority is revealed upon you?                                                                  So, which of the two groups is more entitled to peace, if you know?

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • كَيۡفَ — Kai-fa — How (= How or what about. How could, would or should it be, do, fare or look. In what fashion, manner, method or way. A/t/a, ‘How should,’ ‘why should’ and ‘How (and why)’ should’)
  • اَخَافُ — Aa-khaa-fo — I fear (= v., pres., s., 1st person. Be afraid or scared; feel fear)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — What (= All that ; whatever; whatsoever. A/t/a, ‘that which,’ ‘that and ‘those whom’)
  • اَشۡرَكۡ — Ush-ruk — Ascribe partners (= v., pres. pl.,2nd person. You allege, assert, ascribe, attribute or set up associates, equals, gods or partners with the Almighty God. You worship deities or other things beside God. See Note 003:187. A/t/a, ‘set up  (with Him),’ set up with Him,’ (the things) … associate with Him,’ ‘associate with Allah,’ ‘associate with God’ and ‘you associate in worship with Allah (though they can neither benefit nor harm).’ But ‘associated with God’ in the past tense and ‘false gods’ which is a noun are no translations of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in a verb in the past tense)
  • تُمۡ  — Toom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. The Holy Qor-aan has addressed men and women jointly this way. A/t/a, ‘ye’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above. A/t/a, ‘when’ and  ‘while’)
  • لَا — Laa — Do not (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute denial and total negation without exception)
  • تَخَافُوۡنَ — Ta-khaa-foo-na — You fear (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Apprehend; fear; suspect. Are afraid; alarmed, anxious, concerned, dread, scared or worried. A/t/a, ‘you … fear’ and ‘you are … afraid’)
  • اَ نَّ — Un-na — That (= So that)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You. A/t/a ‘you yourself’)
  • اَشۡرَكۡ — Ush-ruk– Ascribe partners (= v., pres. pl.,2nd person. You allege, assert, ascribe, attribute or set up associates, equals, gods or partners with the Almighty God. See اَشۡرَكۡ above. A/t/a, ‘set up,’ ‘give partners to God,’ ‘associate with God,’  ‘associate,’ ‘serving idols’ and ‘associating partners.’ But ‘associated … things with Allah’ and ‘joined in worship’ in the past tense are no translations of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the present tense)
  • تُمۡ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. See  تُمۡ   above)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with. A/t/a, ‘with’ and ‘beside’)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — What (= All that; whatever; whatsoever; at such time; when. A/t/a, ‘concerning which,’ ‘for which,’ ‘for (the worship of) which,’ ‘that’ and ‘things for which’)
  • لَمۡ — Lum — Not (= Absolutely never; no, not at all. A/t/a, ‘without’)
  • يُنَزِّلۡ — Yo-nuz-zil — Revealed (= v. pres., pass., pl., 3rd person. Is descended, landed, lowered, revealed or sent down. A/t/a, ‘has sent down,’ ‘has … sent down,’ ‘He has given,’ ‘He hath revealed,’ ‘you have received,’ ‘sanctioned’ and ‘Having been given’)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with. A/t/a, ‘for’ and ‘by’)
  • هٖ — He — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. It. A/t/a, ‘which’)
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over. A/t/a, ‘to’ and ‘unto’)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men)
  • سُلۡطٰنًا — Sool-ta-nun — Authority (= n., Allowance; authorization; decree; justification, plan; permission; power; proof; reason that is convincing; sanction; warrant. In some appropriate context the word can also mean a king, monarch or a mighty, irrefutable and powerful argument; support. A/t/a, ‘warrant’ and ‘sanctioned’)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= After all; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; in conclusion; so; thereafter; therefore; thus)
  • اَيُّ — Auy-yo … (ol) — Which (= A small number out of a larger group)
  • الۡفَرِيۡقَيۡنِ — Fa-ree-qai-nay — Two groups (= n., 2pl., Two associations, bands, classes, cliques, companies, divisions, factions, fractions, groups, parties, parts, portions, sections, segments, selections, sharers. A/t/a, ‘(us) two parties,’ ‘two parties,’ ‘two parties …  (of the monotheists and polytheists),’ ‘of the Two factions’ and ‘of us’)
  • اَحَقُّ — A-huq-qo — More justified (= adj., Appropriate. Better entitled, equipped or suited. Closer to truth. More deserving, just, right and suited. A/t/a, ‘more right to,’ ‘greater right,’ ‘surer,’ ‘better right,’ ‘has better title’ and ‘deserves’)
  • بِ — B … (il) — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with. A/t/a, ‘to’)
  • الۡاَمۡنِ — Um-nay — Peace (= n., Peace, prosperity and tranquility; safety; security. A/t/a, ‘security (and salvation),’ ‘to feel secure,’ ‘salvation’ and ‘be in security’)
  • اِنۡ — In — If (= In case; under the circumstances; when; whenever. A/t/a, ‘(Tell me) if,’ ‘Tell me, if’ and ‘(Answer me that) if’)
  • كُنۡـتُمۡ — Koon-toom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You.  A/t/a, ‘ye’ and ‘indeed’ )
  • تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ‏ — Tau-la-moon — You know (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. You are in the know of it; become aware; come to know; get informed; turn into knowing. A/t/a, ‘you know,’ ‘you but know,’ ‘you know the truth,’ ‘you truly know’ and ‘have knowledge.’ But ‘you only knew’ in the past tense is inaccurate translation)
