* Note 002:073. This and the next verse have been translated differently as follows.

  1. “You claimed … the death of a Personage and then differed among yourselves concerning it, and Allah would bring to light that which you concealed” (M Zafrulla Khan).
  1. “Allah brings the dead (for Jesus being dead to all appearance) to life” (Amatul Rahman Omar & Abdul Mannan Omar).
  1. “In Deut xxi 1-9 it is ordained that if the dead body of a slain man be found in a field and the slayer is not known, a heifer shall be beheaded and the elders of the city next to the slain man’s domicile shall wash their hands over the heifer” (Abdullah Yusuf Ali). But this site disowns all storytelling that seeks validation from Bible or some hearsay because they are merely an Author’s Whims and not accurate translations of the original text.
  1. Additionally, any attempt “to explain this passage is not based on any saying of the Holy Prophet; nor is it met with in the Bible” (M Muhammad Ali). See Commentary ‘Qor-aan is no joke.
