The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                  002:197

Wa-aa-tim-mool-huj-ja-wul-oom-ta-ta-lil-laa-hay                                                                    Fa-in-oh-ser-toom-fa-mus-tai-sa-ra-may-nul-hud-yay.                                                         Wa-laa-tah-lay-qoo-ro-oo-sa-koom                                                                                             Hut-ta-yub-la-ghool-hud-yo-ma-hil-la-hoo.

Fa-mun-kaa-na-min-koom-ma-ree-dzun                                                                                 Auo-bay-he-aa-zun-min-rau-say-he-fa-fid-ya-toon                                                               Min-say-yaa-min-auo-sa-da-qa-tin-auo-no-so-kin.

Fa-ezaa-aa-min-toom-fa-mun-ta-mut-ta-aa                                                                             Bil-oom-ra-tay-elul-huj-ja                                                                                                                 Fa-mus-tai-sa-ra-may-nul-hud-yay.

Fa-mun-lum-ya-jid-fa-say-yaa-mo-tha-laa-tha-tay-auy-yaa-min                                           Fil-huj-jay-wa-sub-aa-tin-ezaa-ra-jau-toom                                                                               Til-ka-aa-sha-ra-toon-kaa-may-la-toon.

Zaa-lay-ka-lay-mun-lum-yaa-koon-ah-la-hoo                                                                        Haa-dzay-ril-mus-jay-dil-ha-raa-m.                                                                                             Wut-ta-qool-laa-ha-wau-la-moo                                                                                                    Un-nul-laa-ha-sha-dee-dool-aiy-qaa-b.

And you complete the Hujj and Oom-rah for only Allah.                                        Then if you be prevented, then whatever the sacrifice easily found.                        And do not shave off your heads                                                                                      Until the sacrifice has reached its destination.

Then whoever among you has been sick                                                                          Or with a disorder from his head then must                                                               Pay expiation by fasting, charity or worship.

So when you get peace, then anyone who benefits                                                With the Oom-rah leading to the Hujj                                                                           Then should sacrifice whatever is found easily.

Then whoever finds no sacrifice shall fast for three days                                During the period of Hujj and seven when you have returned.                                 These are the ten complete fasts.

This is for anyone whose family                                                                                             Is not present as a resident in the Sacred Mosque.                                                       And you should love Allah and know                                                                                     That Allah surely is very sever in the follow-up.

* Reproduced below is Note 002:159.

Note 002:159.    The Hujj (الۡحَجَّ  = Ul-Hujja) is one of the 5 Acts of worships or pillars of Islam.    It consists of at least once in life visiting and praying in Kau-ba, the Sacred Mosque, in Muk-kah.    It is performed on the 10th of the month of Zool-Hujj, one of the 12 months in the Hijri calendar.    This calendar is counted from the date the Holy Prophet s.a.w left Mak-kah and went to Madina.   The Oomrah (الۡعُمۡرَةَ  = Ul-oom-rah) also spelled Umrah is performed that way at a different time.    The Hujj is also known as the ‘Greater Pilgrimage’ while the Oomrah is the ‘Minor Pilgrimage.’    The Oomrah can be performed at any time of the year and as many times as a person can manage.    Performing the worship of Hujj and Oomrah is controlled by Saudi Arab government Moullams.    They facilitate the performance of these worships for which extensive rules are being enforced.    Whoever plans these worships should contact the Saudi Embassy for the up-to-date information.    We experienced on two separate occasions to perform our Oomrah and Hujj that they truly help.

Note 003:098. The command to perform the Hujj merits to be studied in conjunction with several other verses including 002:159, 002:197 to 002:204, 003:098 and 022:026 to 030.

** Note 002:197.    This verse warrants negotiations relative to the affairs of the people.    The art of negotiation is a very special gift and everyone is not endowed with that ability.    The Holy Prophet s.a.w was very non-flexible in the matters of Faith and the Unity of God.    On his going too far in explaining such matters occasioned the revelation of the 80th Soorah.    The Holy Qor-aan establishes a clear line where the rigidity must end and negotiating begin.    The rule in this verse was set in precedent of the Holy Prophet s.a.w to negotiate abundantly.    He settled all issues of politics, government and foreign relations by skillful negotiations.    He negotiated the terms of migration when citizens of Madina invited Moslems to migrate.    He negotiated a truce when citizens of Makkah refused Moslems to do Hujj the first time.   See the Note 002:192.
