The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                            003:069

 

اِنَّ اَوۡلَى النَّاسِ بِاِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ لَـلَّذِيۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡهُ وَهٰذَا النَّبِىُّ وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ وَلِىُّ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ‏

 

In-na-auo-lun-naa-say-bay-ib-raa-he-ma-lul-la-zee-na(ut)                                                     Ut-ta-ba-oo-ho-wa-haa-zun-na-be-yo-wul-la-ze-na-aa-ma-noo                                           Wul-laa-ho-wa-lee-yol-moe-may-nee-n

 

Most certainly the closest people with Abraham are those                                        Who followed him and this Prophet and those who have believed.                          By God Allah is the true friend of the believers.

 

  • إِنَّ –In-na — Most certainly (= Absolutely; assuredly; categorically; definitely; really; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively, really; verily; seriously; sincerely; specifically; surely; truly. See our Commentary “2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect”)
  • اَوۡلَى — Auo-la..(un) — Closest (= Dearest; nearest. A/t/a, ‘the best claim on,’ ‘nearest of kin,’ and ‘worthier of’)
  • النَّاسِ — Un-naa-say — The people (= Factions; folks; human beings; mankind; men; nations; tribes. All people regardless of color, creed, culture or country of origin)
  • بِ — Bay — With / To (= This word in Arabic literally means ‘with’  but ‘to’ is also  appropriate in the  context here)
  • اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ — Ib-raa-he-ma — Abraham (= Ibrahim; the name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah.  See Commentary titled Abraham was not an idolater)
  • لَ — La…(ul) — Most certainly (= Absolutely; assuredly; categorically; definitely; really; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively, really; verily; seriously; sincerely; specifically; surely; truly. See our Commentary “2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect”)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — La-zee-na..(ut) — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. All those articles, things or persons)
  • اتَّبَعُوۡا — Ta-ba-oo — They followed (= v., past., pl., 3rd person Those who obeyed, acted upon, carried out, pursued or stood supporting an assigned, enforced, given, laid out, prohibited or received command, course or line of action, direction, instruction, mandate, order or task. They fell in rank behind others and yielded to them. A/t/a, ‘Who followed him (in the days of his prophethood)’ and ‘who believe (Muslim)’
  • هُ — Ho — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to Abraham p.o.h)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • هَـٰذَا — Haa-zaa — This (= The word refers to the Holy Prophet s.a.w)
  • النَّبِىُّ — Na-be-yo — Prophet (= God’s messenger; one who brings or reveals new news.  A/t/a, apostle, saint or sage. Also One who forecasts,  foretell or gives news of coming events)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — La-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. All those articles, things or persons)
  • اٰمَنُوۡا — Aa-ma-noo — They Believed  (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Believed in the Holy Qor-aan, became Moslems and entered in the Faith of Isslaam — See the explanation in our Commentary Islam – 101. Also, those who made peace, protected, rescued, saved  or secured themselves from sin and against fear; those who accepted, admitted, affirmed, approved, concurred, confirmed, corroborated, embraced, evidenced, proved,  testified or witnessed their entry in Islam. See the Note 002:026c)   
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= The وَ  vaao is tantamount to taking oath; solemn declaration or calling as a witness. Normally a Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; and; but; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • وَلِىُّ — Wa-lee-yo-(ol) — True friend (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most, and highlights that none more than Him can aid, help or guard interests well. The dearest friend. The Earnest, Protecting, Sincere and True Friend. Guardian. The Helper. The Patron. The Protector. Friend in need is a friend indeed who heeds in time of need. Supporter or Well-wisher Also, aide, agent, assistant, henchman or representative which terms are not appropriate for use relative to the Almighty God.
  • الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ‏ — Moe-may-nee-n — The believers (= n,. Adherents of Islam; those who enter the Faith, believe and follow the Holy Qor-aan, the Islaam and become Moslems. Men of faith. The faithful)
