The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                 003:124

 

وَلَقَدۡ نَصَرَكُمُ اللّٰهُ بِبَدۡرٍ وَّاَنۡـتُمۡ اَذِلَّةٌ ۚ  فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُوۡنَ

 

Wa-la-qud-na-sa-ra-ko-mool-laa-ho-bay-bud-rin                                                                       Wa-un-toom-aa-zil-la-toon                                                                                                              Fut-ta-qool-laa-ha-la-ul-la-koom-tush-ko-roo-n

 

And certainly Allah helped you with the Badr                                                                 And you certainly were in week position.                                                                          So do duty to Allah so that you can be grateful

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • لَ — La — Certainly (= Absolutely; assuredly; categorically; clearly; definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively; really; truly; seriously; sincerely; specifically; surely; verily)
  • قَدۡ —  Qud — Surely (= This word lays emphasis. Absolutely; categorically; assuredly; certainly; clearly; definitely; specially; doubtlessly; obviously; for sure; in spite of; positively. A/t/a, ‘Already’)
  • نَصَرَ — Na-sa-ra — Helped (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person., Aided, assisted, guided, promoted, rescued, rendered succor or supported leading to a victory)
  •  كُمُ — Ko-mo…(ol) — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . The Holy Qor-aan states that way when addressing both men and women jointly)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word  بِ  means ‘with’. Here ‘in’ is also an appropriate expression in the English usage)
  • بَدۡرٍ — Bud-rin — Badr (= The town near which this battle was fought and the battle-field has since been known)
  • وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • اَنۡ — Un — Certainly (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily)
  • تُمۡ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. The Holy Qor-aan states this way when addressing both men and women jointly)
  • اَذِلَّةٌ — Aa-zil-la-toon — In week position (= adj., Helpless; in lower status, with lesser arms, utterly weak, and much slighter in force. A/t/a, “Weak little force”; ‘Inconsiderable’; ‘contemptible)
  • فَ — Fa — Therefore (= As a result; consequently; hence; so; then; thereafter; yet. A/t/a After all this; at the end; in the final analysis; in conclusion)
  • اتَّقُوا — Tuq-qoo…(l) — You do duty (= v., Be clean, righteous and mindful of your duty to God. Become God-fearing, pious and righteous. Clean inner self. Guard against or ward off evil’. Take as a shield. See more details and the meanings in our commentary titled as The Righteous’)
  • اللّٰهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)

The next three (3)words mark the end of verses 002;186003:124005:007

  • لَعَلَّ –La-ul-la — So that (= Gave chance; haply; hopefully; perchance; possibly; hope and wish that it becomes; wishing a result to be; A/t/a, Peradventure; “Perhaps you will give thanks to Him’)
  • کُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You men. Generally this way the Holy Qor-aan addresses both men and women)
  • تَشۡكُرُوۡنَ — Tush-ko-roo-n — You be grateful (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Acknowledge with asserted, repeated, insistent and tremendous feelings of being grateful. Appreciate. Express gratitude. Render thanks. Give recognition. The word tells to keep in mind the two important factors that invoke deep appreciation: a) the physical facility or concessions that are given, and b) the spiritual benefits that are continually bestowed. Both these factors are so intertwined that nobody really can hold one of them above the other)
