The Holy Qor-aan 004:021
وَاِنۡ اَرَدتُّمُ اسۡتِبۡدَالَ زَوۡجٍ مَّكَانَ زَوۡجٍ ۙ وَّاٰتَيۡتُمۡ اِحۡدٰٮهُنَّ قِنۡطَارًا فَلَا تَاۡخُذُوۡا مِنۡهُ شَيۡـــًٔا ؕ اَ تَاۡخُذُوۡنَهٗ بُهۡتَانًا وَّاِثۡمًا مُّبِيۡنًا
Wa-in-aa-rut-toom-is-tib-daa-la-zao-jin-ma-kaa-na-zao-jin Wa-aa-tai-to-moo-hoon-na-qin-taa-run Fa-laa-tau-kho-zoo-min-ho-shai-aa Aa-tau-kho-zoo-na-hoo-boh-taa-nun-wa-ith-mun-mo-be-na
And if you have intended to take a wife in place of a wife And you had given to that one of them a heap of gold Then do not take back from it anything. Will you take it by fabrication and obvious sin?

A/t/a, ‘desire,’ ‘decide,’ ‘intend’ and ‘wish’ but such translations in the present tense are inaccurate since the Holy Qor-aan has used the verb in the past tense)
- تُمُ — To-mo..(os) — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You)
- اسۡتِبۡدَال — (o)S-tib-daa-la — Take (= Seeking exchange. This and the next three words have also been translated as ‘to take … in place of another,’ ‘have (one) in the place of another,’ ‘divorce a woman in order to wed another,’ ‘exchange a wife in place of another’ and ‘replace a wife by another’)
- زَوۡجٍ — Zao-jin– Wife (= n., s., Also, Associate; close companion; life-companion; relation; mate; spouse)
- مَّكَانَ — Ma-kaa-na — In place of (= Changing the position; substitution)
- زَوۡجٍ — Zao-jin — Wife (= n., s., Associate; close companion. See زَوۡجٍ above)
- وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above. A/t/a, ‘even if’)
- اٰتَيۡ — Aa-taiy-to-moo — Gave (= v., past., m., pl., 2nd person. Delivered; gifted; granted; had given; handed down; handed over; paid; presented; remitted. Also. awarded; bestowed; conferred; laid out. See 002:178. A/t/a, ‘dowry you have given’)
- تُمۡ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You)
- اِحۡدٰ — Aih-daa — Anyone of (= n., Refers to any wife. The prohibition against taking back a given gift mandated by this and the next word applies in totality to ‘any of them’ or ‘anyone of them.’ This prohibition does not apply in selectivity to just ‘one of them’ and thereby allowing to take back the gift from the remaining wives)
- هُنَّ — Hoon-na — Them (= pl, f, 3rd person. Reference to the wives)
- قِنۡطَارًا — Qin-taa-run — Heap of gold (= n., s.., Heap, hill, hoard, mound or pile of gold, silver or similar other reserves, riches, treasure or valuables. A/t/a, ‘treasure,’ ‘huge treasures,’ ‘talent of gold,’ ‘heap of gold,’ ‘a sum of money (however great,’ ‘a whole treasure for dower,’ ‘a kantar (a measurement of weight’ and ‘a Qantar (of gold, i.e., a great amount as Mahr)’)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Hence; so; thus; after all this; at the end; in conclusion)
- لَا — Laa — No (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute denial and total negation without exception)
- تَاۡخُذُوۡا — Tau-kho-zoo — Take back (= v., pl., Seize. Recover. Withdraw. Refers to taking back forcibly or menacingly any part of the dowry or gifts given to a wife)
- مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
- هُ — Ho — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid gift)
- شَيۡـــًٔا — Shai-aa — Anything (= Anything at all however little or insignificant. A whit. Not the least. Smallest part of an article, item, object, material, thing, matter, type, phenomenon or stuff. To the least extent. Also, Some, something or somewhat. A/t/a, ‘aught,’ ‘nothing,’ ‘anything’ and ‘least bit of it’)
- اَ — Aa — Will (= Question mark such as are, can, do, have or shell?)
- تَاۡخُذُوۡا — Tau-kho-zoo — You take back (= v., pl., Seize. Recover. Withdraw. Refers to anything given as a gift to wife. A/t/a, if you take it, it would be’ and ‘would you take it’)
- هٗ — Hoo — That (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid gift)

- وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- اِثۡمًا — Ith-mun — Sin (= n., An act of disobedience; doing wrong; sinfulness committed continually, incessantly and repeatedly. A/t/a, ‘sin,’ ‘sinfulness,’ ‘wrong’ and ‘unjust’)
- مُّبِيۡنًا — Mo-bee-na — Obvious (= adj., Apparent; clear; evident; flagrant; glaring; gross; lucid; manifest; obvious; open; palpable; patent, unambiguous; unmistakable. A situation that is avowed, cleared, declared, marked or sworn to be without any blemish, hindrance or obstruction which could cloud or fog the view. Also as an adv: clearly; evidently; grossly; manifestly; obviously; openly)

The Holy Qor-aan 004:020
يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا يَحِلُّ لَـكُمۡ اَنۡ تَرِثُوا النِّسَآءَ كَرۡهًا ؕ وَلَا تَعۡضُلُوۡهُنَّ لِتَذۡهَبُوۡا بِبَعۡضِ مَاۤ اٰتَيۡتُمُوۡهُنَّ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يَّاۡتِيۡنَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ ۚ وَعَاشِرُوۡهُنَّ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ ۚ فَاِنۡ كَرِهۡتُمُوۡهُنَّ فَعَسٰۤى اَنۡ تَكۡرَهُوۡا شَيۡــًٔـا وَّيَجۡعَلَ اللّٰهُ فِيۡهِ خَيۡرًا كَثِيۡرًا
Yaa-auy-yo-hul-la-zee-na-aa-ma-noo Laa-ya-hil-lo-la-koom Un-ta-ray-thoon-nay-saa-aa-kur-hun
Wa-laa-tau-dzo-loo-hoon-na-bay-bau-dzay Maa-aa-tai-to-moo-hoon-na-il-laa-un-yau-te-na Bay-faa-hay-sha-tin-mo-buy-ya-na-tin
Wa-aa-shay-roo-hoon-na-bil-mau-roo-fay Fa-in-ka-raih-to-moo-hoon-na-fa-asaa Un-tuk-ra-hoo-shaiy-un-wa Yuj-aa-lul-laa-ho-fee-hay-khai-run-ka-thee-raa
Listen, those who have believed! Not allowed for you is That you forcibly inherit women.
And do not coerce them to take away some of That you gave them unless they come With a glaring lewdness.
And live with them gracefully. And if you abhor them, then it’s possible That you loathe something but Allah makes in it a lot of good. (**)
he Holy Qor-aan has used the Phrase Yaa-auy-yo-hul-la-zee-na-aa-ma-noo many times
** Note 004:020. Another plausible translation is as follows.
