The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                       002:016

.

اَللّٰهُ يَسۡتَهۡزِئُ بِهِمۡ وَيَمُدُّهُمۡ فِىۡ طُغۡيَانِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُوۡنَ○‏

.

Al-laa-ho-yus-tauh-zay-o-bay-him-wa-ya-mood-do-hoom                                                                                Fee-toogh-yaa-nay-him-yau-ma-hoo-n.

Allah mocks at them and increases them                                                                               In their contumacy, wandering  blindly .

  • اللّٰهُ — Al-laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • يَسۡتَهۡزِئُ — Yus-tauh-zay-o — Mocks (= v., pes., s., 3rd person. 1. Derides; jests; jokes; kids; laughs; makes others fool; ridicules. 2. Pays them for their joking by punishing them; throws back at them)
  • بِ — Bay — At  (= Sometimes its English translation  ‘at’ is also possible)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., in 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid foolish persons and hypocrites)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses; also; but; additionally; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • يَمُدُّ — Ya-mood-do –Increases (= v., pes., s., 3rd person. ‘Extend,’ ‘is now’ or ‘soon will’ give a long rope, increase, keep long, spread, stretch or widen in sin and evil ways)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. They; theirs. See هِمۡ above)

The text in the following four (4) words is repeated in 002:016 and 006:111.

  • فِىۡ — Fee — In (= Amidst. Among. Contained or inside a duration, event, place, period, person, phenomenon, situation, thing or time. See Note 002:028)
  • طُغۡيَانِ — Toogh-yaa-nay — Contumacy (= n., Agitation; insurrection; inordinacy; insolence; revolution; stubbornness; rebellion; transgression; upheaval; uprising; violent ways; wrongdoing)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Their (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. They; their; theirs. Refers to the aforesaid foolish persons and their hypocrisies)
  • يَعۡمَهُوۡنَ — Yau-ma-hoo-n — Wandering blindly (=v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Blundering; going round and round without seeing or going anywhere; making no progress)
