The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                  003:058

وَاَمَّا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ فَيُوَفِّيۡهِمۡ اُجُوۡرَهُمۡ‌ؕ وَ اللّٰهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ‏

Fa-um-mul-la-ze-na-aa-ma-noo-wa-aa-may-loos-sua-lay-haa-tay                                       Fa-yo-wuf-fe-him-o-joo-ra-hoom                                                                                                       Wul-laa-ho-laa-yo-hib-booz-za-lay-mee-n

So as regards those who believed and practiced proper acts                                  Then they will be fully paid their reward                                                                             And by God Allah does not love the wrongdoers.

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • اَمَّا — Um-maa…(ul) — As regards (= Combination of two words. The first word  اَ ن  means ‘that.’ The second word  مَا  means ‘all that or whatever.’  Joined together they mean ‘whatever’, ‘as regards’, etc)

Holy Qor-aan has used often the “Phrase Aa-ma-noo ” in next five (5) words

  • الَّذِيۡن – La-zee-na — Those (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to the Believers)
  • اٰمَنُوۡا — Aa-ma-noo — They Believed  (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Believed in the Holy Qor-aan; became Moslems; entered in Islam. See Note 002:026c and our Commentaries Islam – 101 and BELIEVE and DISBELIEVE
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • عَمِلُوا — Aa-may-loo(s) — Practiced (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Acted; carried out; did; kept up; followed; led; lived out; performed; practiced; pursued; persisted in; strived. The Holy Qor-aan has used both verbs  اٰمَنُوۡا  and  عَمِلُوا  in the past tense but many authors inaccurately translated them in the present tense or as noun [O ye who believe; one author as ‘Believers’] as shown in Note 002:026c  )
  • الصّٰلِحٰتِ — Sua-lay-haa-tay — Proper acts (= n., pl., Appropriate, befitting, correct, decent, fit, good, holy, honorable, moral, pious, proper, respectable, right righteous, upright, virtuous or worthy acts, activities, deeds, manners, operations, practices, performances, pursuits or righteousness or works. Righteous actions which are appropriate in manner, time and place — not the likes of a soldier who stands up for a prayer during a sword-fighting battle for life and death)
  • فَ — Fa — Therefore (= As a result; consequently; hence; so; then; thereafter
  • يُوَفِّيۡ — Yo-wuf-fee — Fully pay (= v., pres., Credit; give; payback; repay; rebound; reward  rebound; reverse. ‘Pay their full deserts. Pay them in full their reward.’  M Pickthall translated this word as “Pay them their wages in full” which appears to be the  Western view of an employer-employee relationship. Really there is no such relationship between God and His man who is reassured of a full reward for all deeds)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid believers)
  • اُجُوۡرَ — O-joo-ra — Rewards (= pl.,. Award; deserts; good result; prize; recognition; trophy; winnings)
  • ھُمۡ‌ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid believers)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= The وَ  vaao is tantamount to taking oath; solemn declaration or calling as a witness. Normally a Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; and; but; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • لَا —  Laa — No (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute denial and total negation without exception
  • يُحِبُّ — Yo-hib-bo..(oz) — Loves  (= v., s., Adores; appreciates; is attached; cherishes; covet; craves for the attention of; desires; likes; prefer; want; wish for)
  • الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ‏ — Zaa-lay-mee-n — Wrongdoers (= n., pl., Bad people. Criminals. Culprits. Doers of harm, hurt or injury. Evil-doers. Polytheists. Those who commit, do, practice, repeat or habitually pursue the evil and cause grievous   wrong to others. Transgressors.  Unfair. Unjust. Violators. Wicked)
