The Holy Qor-aan 005:098
جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ الۡـكَعۡبَةَ الۡبَيۡتَ الۡحَـرَامَ قِيٰمًا لِّـلنَّاسِ وَالشَّهۡرَ الۡحَـرَامَ وَالۡهَدۡىَ وَالۡقَلَاۤٮِٕدَ ؕ ذٰ لِكَ لِتَعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ عَلِيۡمٌ
Ja-aa-lul-laa-hool-kau-ba-tul-bai-tul-ha-raa-ma Qay-yaa-mun-lin-naa-say Wush-shah-rul-ha-raa-ma-wul-hudya-wul-qa-laa-aiy-da
Zaa-lay-ka-lay-taau-la-moo-un-nul-laa-ha-yau-la-mo Maa-fis-sa-maa-waa-tay-wa-maa-fil-ur-dzay Wa-un-nul-laa-ha-bay-kool-lay-shai-in-aaa-lee-m
Allah has made the Kau-ba, the Sacred House, As a strength for the people And the Sacred Month and the sacrifice and the garlanded
This is for your knowing that Allah knows What’s in the skies and what’s in the earth And that Allah is the Knower of all things.
- جَعَلَ — Ja-aa-la — He made (= v., past., s., 3rd person., Appointed; brought into being; created; designed; fashioned; made produced; set up)
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho … (ol) — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- الۡـكَعۡبَةَ — Kau-ba-ta … (ul) — Kauba (= n., Kauba in Mecca that today is Saudi Arab)
- الۡبَيۡتَ — Bai-ta … (ul) — The House (= Home. The addition of الۡ before بَيۡتِ particularize it to the House and refers it to the Kauba in Mecca)
- الۡحَـرَامَ — Ha-raa-ma — The Sacred (= Holiest; most holy; inviolable; prohibited for any wasteful activity; the Sanctuary. A/t/a, ‘asylum Of security,’ ‘the inviolable’ and ‘Holy’)
- قِيَـٰمً۬ا — Qay-yaa-mun — Strength (= n., Eminence; erect; firm; footing; position; ranking; station; status. Adj: durable; established; fixed; lasting; permanent; settled. A/t/a, ‘standard,’ ‘a means of support,’ ‘a means of support and uplift,’ ‘permanent means of support,’ ‘to serve as an anchor (- a means of support) and … uplifting,’ ‘as a sanctuary,’ ‘eternal values’ and ‘of security and benefits (e.g., Hajj and ‘Umrah)’
- لِّ — L … (in) — For (= Concerning, regarding; relative to; intended for; to; towards)
- لنَّاسِ — Naa-say — People (= n., Mankind; men)
- وَ — Wa … (ush) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; when; while; yet)
- الشَّهۡرَ — Shah-ra … (l) — Month (= n., The period of 29 or 30 days in a lunar calendar and 28 to 31days in a solar calendar)
- الۡحَـرَامَ — Ha-raa-ma — Sacred (= Forbidden; holy; holiest; inviolable; prohibited for any wasteful activity; the Sanctuary. A/t/a, ‘(each) Sacred month’ and ‘inviolable’)
- وَ — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- الۡهَدۡىَ — Hud-ya — The sacrifice (= n., The animal whose owner has designated it to be sacrificed after Hujj has been performed, such as goat, sheep, buffalo, cow or camel. A/t/a, ‘The animals for offering,’ ‘the animals of offering,’ ‘animals brought as an offering,’ ‘offerings,’ ‘Offering’ and ‘the sacrificial offerings’)
- وَ — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- الۡقَلَاۤٮِٕدَ — Qa-laa-aiy-da — The collared (= n., pl., The garlanded. Refers to a goat, lamb or sheep offered as sacrifice by one who in affection for it puts around its neck garlands of flowers. A/t/a, ‘garlands,’ ‘garlands that mark them,’ ‘victims with garlands,’ ‘animals with collars designed for sacrifice,’ ‘animals with collars,’ ‘animals wearing necklaces (meant for sacrifice during Hujj),’ ‘collared sacrificial animals,’ ‘the sacrificial offerings with their ornaments,’ ‘the garlanded (people or animals, marked with the garlands on their necks made from the outer part of the stem of the Makkah trees for their security)’
- ذٰلِكَ — Zaa-lay-ka — This is (= Here; refers to an aforesaid fact, person or statement; it’s because; right here; such is this; that is how it is. A/t/a. ‘That is’ and ‘He has done this that’)
- لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, purpose or reason. See لِّ above. A/t/a, ‘so’ and ‘so that’)
- تَعۡلَمُوۡۤا — Tau-la-moo — You knowing (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. You acquire or get awareness or knowledge. A/t/a, ‘ye may know’ and ‘you may know’)
- اَنَّ — Un-na … (ul) — That (= So that)
- ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- يَعۡلَمُ — Yau-la-mo — He knows (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Is aware. Has the information and knowledge. A/t/a, ‘knows,’ ‘has knowledge’ and ‘hath knowledge’)
The “Phrase lil-laa-hay …” in the next few words has been repeated in several places

- مَاۤ — Maa — What (= All that; whatever; whatsoever)
- فِى — F… (il) — In (= About, inside a time, place or thing. See فِىۡ above)
- الۡاَرۡضِ — Ul-ur-dzay — Earth (= n., s., Area; country; earth; ground; land; territory. Also, life on earth, nation; people or society in general)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- اَنَّ — Un-na..(ul) — That (= So that)

- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
- بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ means with. A/t/a, ‘of’)
- كُلِّ — Kool-lay — All (= Entirely. Totally. Wholly. In everything, time or place. A/t/a, ‘every’)
- شَىۡءٍ — Sha-in — Things (= Smallest part of any article, item, object, matter, thing or phenomenon or stuff. See also 002:156. A/t/a, ‘thing’)
- عَلِيۡمٌ — Alee-m — Knower (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most, and highlights that none more than Him knows, is knowing. Fully acquainted. Informed to the maximum. Has total and perfect knowledge. Has nothing out of sight. Knows all. Well-Aware. Most Knowledgeable. Well-Acquainted. See also 001:001.
