The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                               006:081

 

وَحَآجَّهٗ قَوۡمُهٗ ؕ  قَالَ اَتُحَآجُّٓونِّىۡ فِى اللّٰهِ وَقَدۡ هَدٰٮنِ ؕ  وَلَاۤ اَخَافُ مَا تُشۡرِكُوۡنَ بِهٖۤ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يَّشَآءَ رَبِّىۡ شَيۡـًٔـا ؕ  وَسِعَ رَبِّىۡ كُلَّ شَىۡءٍ عِلۡمًا ؕ  اَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُوۡنَ

 

Wa-haaj-ja-hoo-qao-mo-hoo-qaa-la                                                                                                  Aa-to-haaj-joon-ne-fil-laa-hay-wa-qud-ha-daa-nay                                                                      Wa-laa-aa-khaa-fo-maa-toosh-ray-koo-na-bay-he                                                                        Il-laa-un-ya-shaa-aa-rub-bee-shai-aa                                                                                            Wa-say-aa-rub-bee-kool-la-shai-in-il-maa                                                                                      Aa-fa-laa-ta-ta-zuk-ka-roon

 

And his (Abraham’s) people argued with him. He said,                                        “Do you argue with me concerning Allah and He has guided me.                            And I don’t fear all that you set up partners with Him                                                  Except anything that my God may choose.                                                                          My God has extended everything in Knowledge.                                                              So will you not reflect?”

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but;  also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • حَآجَّ — Haaj-ja — Argued (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person. Argued; contended; debated; discussed; disputed; wrangled. Had argued or fought verbally in vain. A/t/a, ‘sought to contend’ and ‘tried to overpower him in argument’)
  • هٗ — Hoo — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Prophet Abraham)
  • قَوۡمُ — Qao-mo — People (= n., s., Addressees; attendees; fellows; followers; folks; nation; party; people; tribe)
  • هٗ — Hoo — His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Prophet Abraham)
  • قَا لَ — Qaa-laa — He said (= v., past, s., m, 3rd person. Asked; declared; stated; told)
  • اَ — Aa — Do (= Question mark like  Are, Can, Have, Shell or Will? A/t/a, ‘Come ye’ and ‘Do you’)
  • تُحَآجُّوۡن — To-haa-joo(n) — You argue (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. This has combined two words. The first word  تُ  (to = you) pin-points the addressee to 2nd person. The second is  حَآجُّوۡنَ (haaj-joo-na) means argue or fight verbally in vain, contend, debate, discuss unnecessarily without making a valid point, dispute or wrangle. A/t/a, ‘dispute with’ and ‘argue with’)
  • نِّىۡ — Nee — Me (= pro., s., 1st person., I; me; my)
  • فِى — F… (il) — Concerning (= About. concerning; regarding; relative to; in the matter of. A/t/a, ‘respecting’ and ‘with regard to.’ See Note 002:028)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • قَدۡ — Qud — Surely (= This word lays emphasis like very definitely; surely. A/t/a, ‘indeed’ and ‘when’)
  • هَدٰى — Ha-daa — Guided  (= v., past., m, s., 3rd person. Coddled on correct course; directed accurately towards the best way; gave the best direction; guided to and led on the linier lines; put on the proper path; showed the right road. A/t/a, ‘He has guided … aright,’ ‘Who has guided me aright,’ ‘He (Himself) has already guided me aright?’ ‘hath guided,’ ‘who has given me’ and He has guided me’)
  • نِ — Nay — Me (= pro., s., 1st person., I; me ; my)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • لَا — Laa — Do not (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute denial and total negation without exception)
  • اَخَافُ — Aa-khaa-fo — Fear (= v., pres., 1st person. Be afraid or scared; feel fear. A/t/a,  ‘fear … in any way,’ ‘fear not’ and ‘do not fear’)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever. A/t/a, ‘those that,’ ‘all that,’ ‘that which’ and ‘the things’)  
  • تُشۡرِكُوۡنَ — Toosh-ray-koo-na — You set up  partners (= n., pl., You allege, ascribe, assert, associate, attribute, hold, join, set up or worship any equal or kind of partner to the Almighty God. You become idolater, Polytheist or an Unbelieving pagan. See Note 004:037. A/t/a, ‘you set up,’ ‘ye set,’ ‘you associate,’ ‘you worship,’ ‘your idols’ and ‘those whom you associate with Him (Allah) in worship’)
  • بِ — Bay  — With (= Literally the word  بِ   means with. A/t/a, ‘beside’ and ‘besides’)
  • هٖ — He — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
  • اِلَّا — Il-laa — Except (= Apart from; but; besides; excluding; save; unless. A/t/a, ‘(Nothing can happen to me) except’)
  • اَنۡ — Un — That (= So that. A/t/a ‘except that‘ and ‘when’)
  • يَّشَآءُ‌ — Ya-shaa-o — He may choose (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Decide; decree; desire; destine; dictate; like; mandate; ordain; order; please; prefer; rule; select; want; will; wish. A/t/a, ‘willeth (nothing can happen),’ willeth,’ ‘will,’ wills,’ ‘may determine,’ ‘please,’ ‘pleases’ and ‘by His will would they have any power to harm me’)
  • رَبِّ — Rub-b … (ee) — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures; Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. The Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist. A/t/a, ‘Lord (as you assert)’
  • ىۡ — Ee — My (= pro., s., 1st person., I; me; my)
  • شَيۡـــًٔا‌ — Shai-aa — Anything (= Anything at all however little or insignificant. A whit. Not the least. Smallest part of an article, item, object, material, thing, matter, type, phenomenon or stuff. To the least extent. Also, Some, something or somewhat. A/t/a, ‘some (harm to me, it is a different) thing,’ ‘all things’ and ‘something’)
  • وَسِعَ — Wa-say-aa — Has extended (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Become enormous; covered all over; expanded; spread out; stretched over; widened. A/t/a, ‘comperhendeth,’ ‘comprehends,’ ‘includeth’ and ’embraces’ but all that in the present tense is no  translation of the verb stated in the past tense in the Holy Qor-aan)
  • رَبِّىۡ — Rub-bee — My God (= See رَبِّىۡ  above)
  • كُلَّ — Kool-la — Every (= All; entirely; totally)
  • شَىۡءٍ — Shai-in — Thing (= An article; item, material; matter. See  شَيۡـــًٔا‌   above)
  • عِلۡمًا– Il-maa — In knowledge (= Awareness; information; knowledge. A/t/a, ‘in His knowledge,’ ‘within His knowledge,’ ‘knowledge of’ and ‘has knowledge’)
  • اَ — Aa — Will (= Question mark like  are, can, do, have, shell or will)
  • فَ — Fa — So (= After all this; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; in conclusion; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus)
  • لَا — Laa — Not (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute denial and total negation without exception)
  • تَتَذَكَّرُوۡنَ‏  — Ta-ta-zuk-ka-roon — You reflect (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Attend; consider; focus; ponder; recall; reflect; remember. A/t/a, ‘ye (yourselves) Be admonished,’ ‘be admonished,’ ‘mind,’ ‘you … take heed,’ ‘even then take admonition’  and ‘you … be warned’)
