The Holy Qor-aan 007:006
فَمَا كَانَ دَعۡوٰٮهُمۡ اِذۡ جَآءَهُمۡ بَاۡسُنَاۤ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّا كُنَّا ظٰلِمِيۡنَ
Fa maa kaa-na dau-waa hoom iz jaa-aa hoom bau-so naa Il-laa un qua-loo in-naa koon-naa zaa-lay-mee-n
Then their claim was nothing, when Our punishment struck them, Except that they said, “Most definitely have been the wrongdoers.”

- مَا — Maa — Nothing (= Never; no; not at all. See 004:067)
- كَانَ — Kaa-na — Has been (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; used to; went on; were doing. See 004:034. A/t/a, ‘had they’ and ‘meant’)
- دَعۡوٰ — Dau-waa — Call (= n., Announcement. Claim. Declaration. Excuse. Prayer. Praying. A/t/a, ‘plea’ and ‘cry.’ But the verb used in ‘could utter’ is no translation of the noun what the Holy Qor-aan has used in its text)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
- اِذۡ — Iz — When (= At the time or event; call to mind; recall; remember; think of the time, event, occasion or opportunity. Also, behold; consider; ponder over; reflect)
- جَآءَ — Jaa-aa — Came (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Arrived; reached; returned. See 002:276. A/t/a, ‘took,’ ‘came upon,’ ‘came unto,’ ‘overtook’ and ‘fell upon’)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
- بَاۡسُ — Bau-so — Wrath (= n., Extreme anger. See 006:148. A/t/a, ‘punishment,’ ‘terror,’ ‘scourge’ and ‘torment’)
- نَآ — Naa — Our (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us. See نَآ below)
- اِلَّاۤ — Il-laa — Nothing but (= Except; saving. A/t/a, ‘but this,’ ‘save’ and ‘only’)
- اَنۡ — Un — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily. A/t/a, ‘indeed’)
- قَالُوۡۤا — Qaa-loo — They said (= v., past, pl., m., 3rd person. Announced; broadcast; called; conveyed; declared; informed; elaborated; explained; specified; told. See 002:031. A/t/a, ‘they said.’ ‘all they could utter was,’ ‘did they utter,’ ‘they (apologisingly) said’ and ‘uttered’)
- اِنَّا — In-naa — Surely we (= This combines two words. The first word اِنۡ (in) means absolutely, certainly, positively, surely or verily; the second word نَآ (naa) means we, us or our; and together the word اِنَّا (in-naa) combines both meanings. A/t/a, ‘we,’ ‘surely,’ ‘indeed,’ ‘truly’ and ‘verily’)
- كُنَّا — Koon-naa — We have been (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Became. Happened. Occurred. Taken or took place or shape. This is a combination of two words. The 1st word كُنۡ conveys the continuation from the past to the present and leading into the future. The 2nd word نَآ means ‘all of us.’ Jointly the two words mean ‘we had been’, ‘we ‘used to.’ A/t/a, ‘we are and ‘we were’)
- ظٰلِمِيۡنَ — Zaa-lay-mee-n Wrongdoers (= n., p., Those who continually, habitually, perpetually and persistently keep doing wrongs. Wicked. A/t/a, ‘wrongdoers,’ ‘wrong-doers,’ ‘wrong-doing people,’ ‘wicked men’ and ‘Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers.’ But the verb in ‘did wrong’ s no translation of the noun that the Holy Qor-aan has used in its text)
