The Holy Qor-aan 092:001
Verses of the Holy Qor-aan are quoted on this site with the numbers, the first set of three being the number of Soorah (Chapter) followed by the last set of three being the number of the verse. The numbers include بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ as the verse #1 in every Soorah except the Soorah #9. The original Arabic word is shown first, or in Col #1. The phonetic transliteration in English is shown next, or in Col #2, and is based upon words commonly pronounced like bat, cat, sat → fate, gate, hate → bait, trait → bay, nay, say → be, he, she → bet, pet, wet → bit, fit, sit → cot, dot, rot → boot, hoot, root → bout, rout → but, cut, hut, ultimatum. Chapter # 092 Soora-tool-Lai-lay سُوۡرَةُ اللیْل
بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡم
وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَغۡشَىٰ ○ وَٱلنَّہَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ ○ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَى ○ إِنَّ سَعۡيَكُمۡ لَشَتَّىٰ ○ فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أَعۡطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ ○ وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ ○ فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ ۥ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ ○ وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ ○ وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ ○ فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ ۥ لِلۡعُسۡرَىٰ ○ وَمَا يُغۡنِى عَنۡهُ مَالُهُ ۥۤ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ ○ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا لَلۡهُدَىٰ ○ وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلۡأَخِرَةَ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ ○ فَأَنذَرۡتُكُمۡ نَارً۬ا تَلَظَّىٰ ○ لَا يَصۡلَٮٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى ○ ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ○ وَسَيُجَنَّبُہَا ٱلۡأَتۡقَى ○ ٱلَّذِى يُؤۡتِى مَالَهُ ۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ ○ وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ ۥ مِن نِّعۡمَةٍ۬ تُجۡزَىٰٓ ○ إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ ○ وَلَسَوۡفَ يَرۡضَىٰ
- Bis-mil-laa-hir-rah-maa-nir-ra-heem
- Wul-lai-lay-ezaa-yugh-shaa
- Wun-na-haa-ray-ezaa-ta-jul-laa
- Wa-maa-kha-la-quz-za-ka-ra-wul-oon-thaa
- In-na-sau-ya-koom-la-shut-taa
- Fa-um-maa-mun-autaa-wut-ta-quaa
- Wa-sud-da-qua-bil-hoos-naa
- Fa-sa-no-yus-say-ro-hoo-lil-yoos-raa
- Wa-um-maa-mun-ba-khay-la-wus-tugh-naa
- Wa-kuz-za-ba-bil-hoos-naa
- Fa-sa-no-yus-say-ro-hoo-lil-oos-raa
- Wa-maa-yoogh-nee-un-ho-maa-la-hoo-ezaa-ta-rud-daa
- In-na-alai-naa-lul-ho-daa
- Wa-in-na-la-naa-lul-aa-khe-ra-ta-wul-oo-laa
- Fa-un-zur-to-koom-naa-run-ta-luz-zaa
- Laa-yus-laa-haa-il-lul-ush-quaa
- Ul-la-zee-kuz-za-ba-wa-ta-wul-laa
- Wa-sa-yo-jun-na-bo-haul-ut-quaa
- Ul-la-zee-yoe-tee-maa-la-hoo-ya-ta-zuk-kaa
- Wa-maa-lay-aa-ha-din-in-da-hoo-min-ne-ma-tin-tooj-zaa
- Il-lub-te-ghaa-aa-wuj-hay-rub-bay-hil-au-laa
- Wa-la-sao-fa-yur-dzaa

1. With the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful I begin.
2. By the night when that covers everything in the dark
3. By the day when that brightens everything in the sunshine
4. By all that He created as male and female
5. Your efforts most certainly spread out in diverse sides
6. So as far him who gave and feared God
7. And upheld the good
8. Then soon We ease him on way to the Prosperity
9. And as far him who was miserly and indifferent
10. And denied the good
11. Then soon We ease him on way to the Adversity
12. And all his wealth will not help him when he is turned over to ruin
13. Most certainly on Us is the guidance
14. And most certainly for Us is the End and the Beginning
15. So I warn you of the Fire with flames
16. None will burn in it except the most Unfortunate
17. Who belied the truth and turned away
18. And the Pious will quickly escape it
19. Who gives his wealth cleansing himself
20. And no one has with him a favor to be returned
21. He seeks little (in giving his wealth) except for a favor of his God, the Most High
22. And certainly very soon he will be real happy

The Holy Qor-aan 092:001 ○بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ
Bis-mil-laa-hir-rah-maa-nir-ra-heem
With the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful I begin
(Beginning, commencing, starting)
- بِ — B(is) — With (= This Arabic word literally means ‘with’. Its translation in English is more accurate with ‘with’ than with ‘in’)
- سۡمِ — M(il) — The name of (= The way to be addressed or called)
- اللهِ — Laa-h(ir) — Allah (= The Almighty God; the One Only worthy of worship)
- الرَّحۡمٰنِ — Rah-maa-n(ir) — The Most Beneficent (= The One who fully; totally and wholly benefits all fully and to the maximum with no condition, limitation or restriction. Compassionate. Gracious)
- الرَّحِيۡمِ — Ra-heem — The Most Merciful (= The One who fully, totally and wholly showers mercy again and again to the maximum continually, indefinitely and perpetually like the endlessly incoming waves from the oceans)
