The Holy Qor-aan 101:001 to 012
Verses of the Holy Qor-aan are quoted on this site with the numbers, the first set of three being the number of Soorah (Chapter) followed by the last set of three being the number of the verse. The numbers include بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ as the verse #1 in every Soorah except the Soorah #9. The original Arabic word is shown first, or in Col #1. Chapter # 101 Soora-tol-Qaa-ray-auh سُوۡرَةُ القَارعَة
بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ
اَلۡقَارِعَةُ ۙ ○ مَا الۡقَارِعَةُ ۚ وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا الۡقَارِعَةُ ؕ ○ يَوۡمَ يَكُوۡنُ النَّاسُ كَالۡفَرَاشِ الۡمَبۡثُوۡثِۙ ○ وَتَكُوۡنُ الۡجِبَالُ كَالۡعِهۡنِ الۡمَنۡفُوۡشِؕ ○ فَاَمَّا مَنۡ ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَازِيۡنُهٗ ۙ ○ فَهُوَ فِىۡ عِيۡشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ ؕ ○ وَاَمَّا مَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَازِيۡنُهٗ ۙ ○ فَاُمُّهٗ هَاوِيَةٌ ؕ ○ وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا هِيَهۡ ؕ ○ نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ

- On that day the people will be like the moths scattered on floor
- And mountains will be like the carded wool.
- So as far as he who made his scales heavy …
- Then he will be in a pleasant life
- And as far as he who kept his scales light ..
- Then his mother will be the Hell.
- And what (or who) will tell you what that is
- Raging Fire it is

The Holy Qor-aan 101:001 بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ
Bis-mil-laa-hir-rah-maa-nir-ra-heem
With the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful I begin.
(Beginning, commencing, starting)

- سۡمِ — Ism…(il) — The name of (= The way to be addressed or called)
- اللهِ — Laa-h…(ir) — Allah (= The Almighty God; the One Only worthy of worship)
- الرَّحۡمٰنِ — Rah-maa-n.(ir) — The Most Beneficent (= The One who fully, totally and wholly benefits all, to the maximum, with no condition, limitation or restriction. Compassionate. Gracious)
- الرَّحِيۡمِ — Ra-heem — The Most Merciful (= The One who fully, totally and wholly showers mercy, to the maximum, again and again, continually, indefinitely and perpetually like the incoming waves from the oceans)

The Holy Qor-aan 101:004 وَمَآ أَدۡرَٮٰكَ مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَة
Wa-maa-ud-raa-ka-mul-qaa-ray-auh
And what (or who) will tell you what the calamity is?
- وَ Wa And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- مَآ Maa Who / What (= All that; whatever; whatsoever)
- أَدۡرَٮٰ Ud-raa Tell (= Add to knowledge; clarify; convey; explain; expound; inform; make one realize; make another person aware, comprehend and understand; reveal; show)
- كَ Ka You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. The addressee of this divine message is initially the Holy Prophet s.a.w and secondarily every Moslem, in fact every human being. See the Note under 002:005)
- مَا Ma…(ul) What is (= All that; whatever; whatsoever)
- ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ Qaa-ray-auh The Calamity (= Big or grand catastrophe, disaster, strikes or striking. Resurrection. Time, hour or day of Judgment)

The Holy Qor-aan 101:005 يَوۡمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ ڪَٱلۡفَرَاشِ ٱلۡمَبۡثُوثِ
Yao-ma-ya-koo-noon-naa-so-kul-fa-raa-shil-mub-thoo-th.
On that day the people will be like the moths scattered on floor
- يَوۡمَ — Yao-ma — Day (= At that time; period)
- يَكُونُ — Ya-koo-no(on) Would be (= m., would have been being, happening or occurring)
- ٱلنَّاسُ Naa-so The people (= Folks; human beings; mankind; nation)
- ڪَ K…(ul) Like (= Resembling; similar to)
- لۡفَرَاشِ Fa-raa-sh..(il) The floored (= Crushed, dead, fallen flat or scattered on ground)
- ٱلۡمَبۡثُوثِ Mub-thoo-th The moths (= Butterflies; insects)

The Holy Qor-aan 101:006 وَتَكُونُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ ڪَٱلۡعِهۡنِ ٱلۡمَنفُوشِ
Wa-ta-koo-nool-je-baa-lo-kul-eh-nil-mun-foosh
And mountains will be like the carded wool

So as far as he who made his scales heavy

- أَمَّا Um-maa As far as (= Pin-pointing to certain item, person, phenomenon or thing)
- مَنۡ Mun He who (= What; which; whoever)
- ثَقُلَتۡ Tha-qo-lut Made heavy (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Weighed heavy with good deeds)
- مَوَٲزِينُ Ma-waa-zeeno Scales (= pl., Measure; Pans of a balance)
- هُ Hoo His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the person who made his scales heavy)

The Holy Qor-aan 101:008 فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ۬ رَّاضِيَةٍ۬
Fa-ho-wa-fee-ee-sha-tin-raa-dze-ya-tin
Then he will be in a pleasant life

- هُوَ Ho-wa That person (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the person who made his scales heavy)
- فِىۡ Fee In (= 1- Contained inside a duration, time, period, thing or place;2- Concerning; in reference; inside; regarding; relative to)
- عِيشَةٍ۬ Ee-sha-tin Life (= Life-style; way to live)
- رَّاضِيَةٍ Raa-dze-ya-tin Pleasant (= Bliss; happy; joyful; pleasing; rejoicing; of pleasure and satisfaction)

And as far as whoever kept his scales light

- أَمَّا Um-maa As far as (= Pin-pointing to certain item, person, phenomenon or thing)

- خَفَّتۡ Khuf-fut Kept light (= Kept light; unloaded with good deeds. Read with o23:104)

Fa-oom-mo-hoo-haa-we-yauh
Then his mother will be the Hell

- أُمُّ Oom-mo Mother (= End; final place to come for comfort and rest; nursing mom)
