The Holy Qor-aan 112:001 to 005
Verses of the Holy Qor-aan are quoted on this site with the numbers, the first set of three being the number of Soorah (Chapter) followed by the last set of three being the number of the verse. بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ
قُلۡ هُوَ اللّٰهُ اَحَدٌ ۚ ○ اَللّٰهُ الصَّمَدُ ۚ ○ لَمۡ يَلِدۡ ۙ وَلَمۡ يُوۡلَدۡ ۙ ○ وَلَمۡ يَكُنۡ لَّهٗ كُفُوًا اَحَدٌ ○
- Bis-mil-laa-hir-rah-maa-nir-ra-heem
- Qool-ho-wul-laa-ho-aa-hud
- Alla-hoos-sa-mud
- Lum-ya-lid-wa-lum-yoo-lud

The Holy Qor-aan 112:001 ○بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ
Bis-mil-laa-hir-rah-maa-nir-ra-heem
With the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful I begin
- بِ — B…(is) — With (= This Arabic word literally means ‘with’. Its translation in English is more accurate with ‘with’ than with ‘in’)
- سۡمِ — Ism…(il) — The name of (= The way to be addressed or called)
- اللهِ — Laa-h…(ir) — Allah (= The Almighty God; the One Only worthy of worship)
- الرَّحۡمٰنِ — Rah-maa-n(ir) — The Most Beneficent (= The One who fully, totally and wholly benefits all, to the maximum, with no condition, limitation or restriction. Compassionate. Gracious)
- الرَّحِيۡمِ — Ra-heem — The Most Merciful (= The One who fully, totally and wholly showers mercy, to the maximum, again and again, continually, indefinitely and perpetually like the endlessly incoming waves from the oceans)

The Holy Qor-aan 112:002 ۙ قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَد
Qool-ho-wul-laa-ho-Aa-hud
You say: He is Allah, the One
- قُلۡ — Qool — You say (= 1. Pray; beseech; invoke; request; speak; supplicate.
2. Announce; broadcast; call; convey; deliver message; elaborate; explain; expound; inform; instruct; make a statement or submission; preach; proclaim; profess; state; specify; tell) *
- هُوَ — Ho-wa…(l) — He (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God )
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
- اَحَدٌ — Aa-hud — One (= All by Himself; individual; single; unique)
* Note 112:002. The word قُلۡ means ‘you say’ and carries numerous connotations including the following.
- Firstly, it commands the reader to deliver the message to all ‘other’ persons in the whole wide world.
- Secondly, it orders the reader to ‘tell himself’ also so that his telling others only is not tantamount to hypocrisy.
- Thirdly, it directs the reader to acknowledge that he has received the message.
- Fourthly and most importantly, it mandates the reader to psychologically affirm his resolve by expressing his ‘state of mind’ such as ‘I will do as told’.

Allah is beyond needs
- اللّٰهُ — Allaa-ho…(s) — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
- ٱلصَّمَدُ — Sa-mud — Beyond needs (= Far above needing anything or anyone; having no needs; a/t/a/ Besought of all; Eternal; Eternal and Absolute; Eternal cause of all beings; Self-existing; Self-sufficient) *
* Note 112:003. Various translators have worded their concept about the meanings of this word differently. Self-sufficient Master whom everyone needs and Who needs no one, no food, no drink, no one else. The One Supreme Being, Independent on Whom all others depend,

Lum-ya-lid-wa-lum-yoo-lud
He begets not. And He was not begotten.

- يَلِدۡ — Ya-lid — Begets (= Cohabits to produce babies; impregnates)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
