The Holy Qor-aan 091:012 كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُوۡدُ بِطَغۡوٰٮهَآ ۙ
Kuz-za-but-tha-moo-do-bay-tugh-waa-haa
Thamood denied (the Truth and their prophet Sualeh) with its rebellion
- كَذَّبَتۡ — Kuz-za-but — Denied (= Belied, rejected and treated as a lie antagonistically, belligerently and insolently)
- ثَمُوۡدُ — Tha-moo-do — Thamood (= A nation that lived and died long ago in human history)
- بِ — Bay — With (= This word in Arabic literally means with)
- طَغۡوٰ — Tugh-waa — Rebellion (= Disobedience with display. Rebellion with pride. Violation with boasting. Flouting specific Prohibition perpetually. Inordinate wrong-doing. Persistently contravening prescribed respectable way of life. Violating with disobedience; rebelliousness conduct)
- هَا — Haa — Its (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the nation of Thamood)

The Holy Qor-aan 091:013 اِذِ انۡۢبَعَثَ اَشۡقٰٮهَا ۙ
Ai-zinb-ba-aa-tha-ush-qaa-haa
When its arch-sinner rose to power
- اِذۡ — Ai-z..(in) — When (= Behold; call to mind, consider; recall; ponder over; reflect; remember or think of the time, event, occasion, opportunity or time; take into consideration)
- انۡۢبَعَثَ — In-baa-aa-tha — Rose to power (= Ascended to the top; broke forth and misled; gained prominence; secured eminence; stood up to oppose. Also, got up or got deputized to be on the top)
- اَشۡقٰ — Ush-qaa — Arch-sinner (= Most wretched. The lowest of the low. Uneducated. Worst)
- هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the nation of Thamood)

The Holy Qor-aan 091:014 فَقَالَ لَهُمۡ رَسُوۡلُ اللّٰهِ نَاقَةَ اللّٰهِ وَسُقۡيٰهَا ؕ
Fa-qaa-la-la-hoom-ra-soo-lool-laa-hay-naa-qa-tul-laa-hay-wa-sooq-yaa-haa
Then Allah’s Messenger said to them, “(Leave) Allah’s she-camel and its drinking”
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; resultantly; so; thereafter; therefore; yet)
- قَا لَ — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past, s., m, 3rd person. Admonished; announced;
asserted; commanded; conveyed; declared; demanded; directed; informed; insisted; maintained; preached; prohibited; protested; stated; submitted; told; warned) - لَ — La — To (= Addressed to; directed towards; in order to; to)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to the nation of Thamood)
- رَسُوۡلُ — Ra-soo-l…(ool) — Messenger (= s., Apostle; God’s messenger; prophet; sage; saint)
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
- نَاقَةَ — Naa-qa-t..(ul) — She camel * (= Female camel)
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- سُقۡيٰ — Sooq-yaa — Drink ** (= Intake of water to quench thirst; interfere with her drinking source)
- هَا — Haa — Its (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the camel for which their Messenger from Allah had stopped them to hurt)
* Note 091:014a. The Messenger told them to lay off a certain female camel that was designated as a sign of Allah and not to interfere with her drinking from a specific source of water.

The Holy Qor-aan 091:015 فَكَذَّبُوۡهُ فَعَقَرُوۡهَا- ۙفَدَمۡدَمَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ بِذَنۡۢبِهِمۡ فَسَوّٰٮهَا ۙ
Fa-kuz-za-boo-ho–fa-aqua-roo-haa–fa-dum-da-ma-alai-him-rub-bo-hoom-bay-zunb-bay-him–fa-suw-waa-haa (= settled that account).
Yet they belied him. Then they hamstrung it. So their God destroyed them because of their sin. Thus He balanced (= settled the account of) that.
- فَ — Fa — Yet (= Consequently; as a result; so; then; thereafter; therefore)
- كَذَّبُو — Kuz-za-boo — They belied (= Denied; disbelieved; rejected; treated as a lie)
- هُ — Ho — Him (= s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid Messenger)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; as a result; so; thereafter; therefore; yet)
- عَقَرُو — Aqua-roo Hamstrung (= Confined; constrained; cramped; killed; restricted; slaughtered)
- هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the female camel)
- فَ — Fa — So (= Consequently; as a result; then; thereafter; therefore; thus; yet)
- دَمۡدَمَ — Dum-da-ma — Destroyed (= Annihilated totally, utterly. Let loose His scourge on)
- عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon)
- هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Thamood)
- رَبُّ — Rub-bo — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures;
Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist) - هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Thamood)
- بِ — Bay — With (= This word in Arabic literally means with)
- ذَنۡۢبِ — Zunb-bay –Sin (= Crime. Serious violation Wrong)
- هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Thamood)
- فَ — Fa — Thus (= Consequently; as a result; so; thereafter; therefore; yet)
- سَوّٰ — Suw-waa — Settled (= Balanced, equalized and settled that account. Punished them all equitably. Leveled alike their higher-ups and
lower-downs. Turned them equal in destruction; raised their dwellings and housings; Obliterated even their traces. Razed their city to the ground) - هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the Thamood)
* Note 091:015. This verse is a classic illustration of how فَ the one word in Arabic has several meanings upon its translated in English, namely the ‘yet’, ‘then[‘, ‘so’ and ‘thus’ which uniquely apply to each different situation to express appropriately what each situation requires.

The Holy Qor-aan 091:016 ○ وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقۡبٰهَا
Wa-laa-ya-khaa-fo-ooq-baa-haa
And He is not afraid of what follows that (= settlement of account)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- لَّا — Laa — Does not (= Absolute denial; never; not at all; total negation)
- يَخَافُ — Ya-khaa-fo — Afraid (= Fear; could not care less; dread; does not care)
- عُقۡبٰ — Ooq-baa — Follows (= Aftermath; consequence; result; sequel; the follow up; the utter miserable fate that the nation of Thamood suffered because of their disobedience)
- هَا — Haa — That (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the punishment)
