The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                025: 075

 

وَالَّذِيۡنَ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ رَبَّنَا هَبۡ لَـنَا مِنۡ اَزۡوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيّٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ اَعۡيُنٍ وَّاجۡعَلۡنَا لِلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ اِمَامًا

 

Wa  ul-la-ze-na  ya-qoo-loo-na  raub-ba  naa
Haub  la   naa  min  auz-waa-jay  naa
Wa  zoor-re-aa-tay  naa  qoor-a-ta  au-yo-nin
Wa  uj-aul-naa  lay  il-moot-ta-qee-na  aiy-maa-maa

 

And those who say, “Lord of us all!
Grant us from our spouses and
Our children an ecstasy in seeing
And make us leaders for the pious.”

اَوَاَمِنَ اَهۡلُ الۡقُرٰٓى اَنۡ يَّاۡتِيَهُمۡ بَاۡسُنَا ضُحًى وَّهُمۡ يَلۡعَبُوۡنَ

 

Aa  fa  aa-may-na  ah-lo  ol-qo-raa
Aun  yau-ta-ya  hoom  bau-so naa
Zo-haun  wa  hoom  yaul-aa-boo-n

 

So have the town dwellers become secure against
That Our punishment strikes them
In the forenoon and they are playing?

 

But for فَ in 007:098 and وَ in 007:099, the text in next nine (9) words is the same

Aa  fa  aa-may-na  ah-lo  ol-qo-raa

Ba-yaa-taun  wa  hoom  naa-aiy-moo-n

وَلَوۡ اَنَّ اَهۡلَ الۡقُرٰٓى اٰمَنُوۡا وَاتَّقَوۡا لَـفَتَحۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ بَرَكٰتٍ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَلٰـكِنۡ كَذَّبُوۡا فَاَخَذۡنٰهُمۡ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَكۡسِبُوۡنَ

 

Wa  lao  aun-na  ah-la  ul-qo-raa  aa-ma-noo  wa  ut-ta-qoo
La  fa-tauh-naa  aa-lai  him  ba-ra-kaa-tin
May-na  us-sa-maa-aiy  wa  ul-aurdz-dzay
Wa  laa-kin  kauz-za-boo  f
a  aa-khauz-naa  hoom
Bay-maa  kaa-noo  yauk-say-boo-n

 

And if residents of the towns had believed and were pious,
We certainly would have opened on them blessings
From the sky above and the earth below.
But they belied the truth.
So we caught them in punishment
Because of what they had been earning.

ثُمَّ بَدَّلۡـنَا مَكَانَ السَّيِّئَةِ الۡحَسَنَةَ حَتّٰى عَفَوْا وَّقَالُوۡا قَدۡ مَسَّ اٰبَآءَنَا الضَّرَّآءُ وَالسَّرَّآءُ فَاَخَذۡنٰهُمۡ بَغۡتَةً وَّهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُوۡنَ‏

 

Thoom-ma  baud-daul-naa  ma-kaa-naus
Suy-yay-aa-tay  il-ha-sa-na-tay
Hau-taa  aa-fao  wa  qaa-loo
Qaud  maus-sa  aa-baa-aa  naa-udz
Audz-dzaur-raa-o  wa  us-saur-raa-o
Fa  aa-khauz-naa  hoom  baugh-ta-taun
Wa  hoom  laa  yaush-aa-roo-n

 

Then We changed the place of
The bad with the good
Until they had fully recovered and said,
“Surely our forefathers were also touched
By bad times and good times.”
Then We took them by surprise
And they were not realizing.

Wa  maa  aur-saul-naa  fee  qaur-ya-tin
Min  na-be-yin  il-laa  aa-khauz-naa
Ah-la  haa  bay  il-bau-saa-aiy  wa  udz-dzur-raa-aiy
La-aul-la  hoom  yaudz-dhaur-ra-oo-n

 

And We never sent in a town
From among a messenger except that We struck
Its residents with adversity and affliction
So that they may humble.

فَتَوَلّٰى عَنۡهُمۡ وَقَالَ يٰقَوۡمِ لَقَدۡ اَبۡلَغۡتُكُمۡ رِسٰلٰتِ رَبِّىۡ وَنَصَحۡتُ لَـكُمۡ‌ۚ فَكَيۡفَ اٰسٰی عَلٰى قَوۡمٍ كٰفِرِيۡنَ

  

Fa  ta-waul-laa  aun  hoom  wa  qaa-la
Yaa  qao-may  la  qaud  aub-laugh-to  koom
Ray-saa-la-tay  raub-bee  wa  na-sauh-to  la  koom
Fa  kai-fa  aa-saa  aa-laa  qao-min  kaa-fay-ee-n 

 

So he turned away from them and said,
“My people, I delivered to you
A message from my God and I have advised you.

Then how could I feel sorry for people who are disbelievers.”

Aul-la-ze-na  kauz-za-boo  sho-aiy-baun  ka  aun  laum  yaugh-nao  fee  haa
Aul-la-ze-na  kauz-za-boo  sho-aiy-baun  kaa-noo  ho-mo  ol-khaa-say-ree-n

 

Those who belied Shoaib were like they never lived in it.
Those who belied Shoaib, they had been the losers.

And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved said,
“Surely if you follow Shoaib,
You certainly then are among the losers.”

قَدِ افۡتَرَيۡنَا عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًا اِنۡ عُدۡنَا فِىۡ مِلَّتِكُمۡ بَعۡدَ اِذۡ نَجّٰٮنَا اللّٰهُ مِنۡهَا‌ ؕ وَمَا يَكُوۡنُ لَـنَاۤ اَنۡ نَّعُوۡدَ فِيۡهَاۤ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يَّشَآءَ اللّٰهُ رَبُّنَا‌ ؕ وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَىۡءٍ عِلۡمًا‌ؕ عَلَى اللّٰهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَا‌ ؕ رَبَّنَا افۡتَحۡ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَ قَوۡمِنَا بِالۡحَـقِّ وَاَنۡتَ خَيۡرُ الۡفٰتِحِيۡنَ‏

 

Qau-day  if-ta-rai  naa  aa-la  ul-laa-hay  ka-zay-baun
In  ood-naa  fee  mil-la-tay  koom  bau-da  iz
Nauj-jaa-naa  ul-laa-ho  min  haa
Wa  maa  ya-koo-no  la  naa  aun  na-oo-do  fee  haa
Il-laa  aun  ya-shaa-aa  ul-laa-ho  raub-bo  naa

Wa-say-aa  raub-bo-naa  kool-la  shai-in  il-maa
Aa-la  ul-laa-hay  ta-wauk-kaul  naa

Raub-ba  naa  uf-tauh  bai-na  naa
Wa  bai-na  qao-may  naa  bay  il-hauq-qay
Wa  aun-ta  khai-ro  ol-faa-tay-hee-n 

 

Surely we would have fabricated a lie on Allah
If we returned to your religion after when
Allah has gotten us out of it. 
And it would not be right for us to return into it
Except that Allah, our Lord, chooses that.

Our God  spanned over everything in knowledge.
We have placed our trust on Allah.

Our God! Please open things between us
And our people with Truth and Justice.
And You are the best to open things so we win.

  • عَلٰى — Aa-la … (ul) — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • كَذِبًا — Ka-zay-baun — A lie (= adj., Falsehood; fib; tall tale; untruth; white lie. A/t/a, ‘false’)

  • عُدۡنَا —  Ood-naa  — We returned (= v., past., pl. 1st person. Came back. Reverted. A/t/a,  ‘we were to return.’ But ‘we go back to,‘ ‘we now return’ and ‘we revert’ in the present  tense is no translation the Holy Qor-aan text with a verb in the past tense)
  • فِىۡ  — Fee — In (= Contained in or amidst a duration, event, time, place, period, thing or situation; inside. Also, concerning; for the sake of;’ in reference to; pursuant to; regarding relative to. See 002:028)
  • مِلَّتِ — Mil-la-tay — Religion (= n., Community; creed; lifestyle; nation of followers; way of life. A/t/a, ‘creed,’ ‘ways’ and ‘faith’)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — Your (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You men. The Holy Qor-aan has often used this word for both men and women jointly)
  • بَعۡدَ — Bau-da — After (= Afterwards; behind; later; subsequently; succeeding to)
  • اِذۡ — Iz — When (= Any time or event; behold; call to mind; consider; now that; ponder over, recall; reflect, remember; think of the event, occasion, opportunity or time)
  • نَجّٰٮنَا — Nauj-jai-naa — Rescued us (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Saved. Protected. Recovered. The past tense verb for single 3rd person is converted into that of plural 1st person as explained in Note 001:007. A/t/a, ‘saved’ and ‘delivered’)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)

But the present tense as in ‘can reach out,’ ‘comprehends,’ ‘comprehendeth,’ ‘has’ and ‘encompasses’ has not translated the past tense in the Holy Qor-aan text)

A/t/a, ‘Deciders,’ ‘judges,’ ‘who decide,’ ‘who judge,’ ‘who give judgment,’ ‘who make decision’ and ‘all who open (the-truth).’ But the verb as in ‘art … to decide’ has not translated the noun in the Holy Qor-aan text)
