The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                            007:040

 

وَقَالَتۡ اُوۡلٰٮهُمۡ لِاُخۡرٰٮهُمۡ فَمَا كَانَ لَـكُمۡ عَلَيۡنَا مِنۡ فَضۡلٍ فَذُوۡقُوا الۡعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَكۡسِبُوۡنَ

 

Wa  qaa-laut  oo-laa  hoom                                                                                                            Lay  ookh-ra  hoom                                                                                                                              Fa  maa  kaa-na  la  koom  aa-lai  naa  min  fauz-lin                                                                  Fa  zoo-qo  ol-aa-zaa-ba  bay-maa  koon-toom  tauk-say-boo-n

 

And the group of them who came earlier said                                                                  To the group of them who came later,                                                                                “So none has been for you over us from any betterment. (**)                                    So you suffer the punishment with what you used to earn.”

Phrase O-laa-aiy-ka  aus-haa-bo  ol-jaun-nah … They are people of Paradise 

 

اُولٰۤٮِٕكَ اَصۡحٰبُ الۡجَـنَّةِ‌ۚ هُمۡ فِيۡهَا خٰلِدُوۡنَ‏

O-laa-aiy-ka  us-haa-bo  ol-jaun-Na-tay  hoom  fee  haa  khaa-lay-doo-n

All are the people of Paradise. They are dwellers in it.

  • اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ — Olaa-aiy-ka — All of them (= Aforesaid facts, persons or things. Here the reference is to aforesaid folks, people and doers of good) )
  • اَصۡحٰب — Aus-haa-bo … (ol) — People (= n., pl., This one word has many shades of meanings.   With closeness as an element … Associates; companions; families; fellows; folks; friends; heirs; people; populace; population.  With residence as an element … citizens; denizens; dwellers; guests; inmates; inhabitants; invitees; live ins; natives; residents; stayers; visitors.  With control as an element … army; controllers; fighters; masters; occupants;  occupiers; owners; possessors; soldiers)
  • الۡجَـنَّةَ — Jaun-na-tay — The Paradise (= n., s., Big grove; Coppice. Thicket. Garden of ultimate and everlasting beauty and greenery. Place of immense beauty, peace and tranquility which is beyond human comprehension. The Heavens. The Orchard. Generally the ‘location on very fertile ground’ is added into the extrapolations of this word)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid people)
  • فِىۡ — Fee — In (= Contained in or amidst a duration, event, time, place, period, thing or situation; inside)
  • هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to the Hell-Fire)
  • خٰلِدُوۡنَ — Khaa-lay-doo-n — Dwellers (= n., pl., Those who abide, enjoy, live, stay or reside. Adding superlatives such as everlastingly, permanently perpetually and forever in translating this word is quite appropriate for the residents of Paradise but is not so   for the inmates of Hell. See Note 002:040)

 

The following verses have the above phrase. Such repetition emphasizes the primary message. The remaining words reiterate the message even with a change in surrounding circumstances. This technique highlights the importance of primary message.

وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَا نُـكَلِّفُ نَفۡسًا اِلَّا وُسۡعَهَاۤ اُولٰۤٮِٕكَ اَصۡحٰبُ الۡجَـنَّةِ‌ۚ هُمۡ فِيۡهَا خٰلِدُوۡنَ‏

 

Wa  aul-la-ze-na  aa-ma-noo  wa  aa-may-loo  os-aa-lay-haa-tay                                            Laa  no-kaul-lay-fo  nauf-saun  il-la  woos-aa  haa                                                                      O-laa-aiy-ka  aus-haa-bo  ol-jaun-na-tay  hoom  fee  haa  khaa-lay-doo-n

 

Surely those who believed and who did decent deeds knew that                              We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity.                                                      All are the people of Paradise.  They are dwellers in it.

قَالَ ادۡخُلُوۡا فِىۡۤ اُمَمٍ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡجِنِّ وَالۡاِنۡسِ فِى النَّارِ‌ ؕ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتۡ اُمَّةٌ لَّعَنَتۡ اُخۡتَهَا‌ ؕ حَتّٰۤى اِذَا ادَّارَكُوۡا فِيۡهَا جَمِيۡعًا ۙ قَالَتۡ اُخۡرٰٮهُمۡ لِاُوۡلٰٮهُمۡ رَبَّنَا هٰٓؤُلَۤاءِ اَضَلُّوۡنَا فَاٰتِهِمۡ عَذَابًا ضِعۡفًا مِّنَ النَّارِ‌ ؕ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعۡفٌ وَّلٰـكِنۡ لَّا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ‏

 

Qaa-la  aud-kho-loo  fee  o-ma-min  qaud  kha-laut  min  qaub-lay                                    Koom  may-na  ul  jin-nay  wa  ul-in-say  fee  in-naa-ray                                                            Kool-la-maa  da-kha-laut  om-ma-toon  la-aa-naut  ookh-ta  haa

Haut-taa  aiy-za  ud-daa-ra-koo  fee  haa  ja-me-aa                                                                Qaa-laut  ookh-raa  hoom  lay  oo-laa  hoom                                                                        Raub-ba  naa  haa  o-laa-aiy  aa-dzaul-loo  naa                                                                              Fa  aa-tay  him  aa-zaa-baun  zai-faun  may-na  un-naa-ray                                                  Qaa-la  lay  kool-lin  zai-foon  wa  laa-kin laa  tau-la-moo-n

 

He said, “Enter, among the nations gone by before                                                  You from among the Jinn and Men, in Fire.”                                                                Every time a nation entered, it cursed its sister nation.

Until when they have assembled in it altogether                                                            Their latter said for hurting their former,                                                                          “Our Lord, all these are who misled us                                                                            So, give them twice the punishment of Fire.”                                                                He said, “For everyone is twice, but you do not know.”

فَمَنۡ اَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ افۡتَـرٰى عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًا اَوۡ كَذَّبَ بِاٰيٰتِهٖ ؕ اُولٰۤٮِٕكَ يَنَالُهُمۡ نَصِيۡبُهُمۡ مِّنَ الۡـكِتٰبِ‌ؕ حَتّٰٓى اِذَا جَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُـنَا يَتَوَفَّوۡنَهُمۡ ۙ قَالُوۡۤا اَيۡنَ مَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَدۡعُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ‌ ؕ قَالُوۡا ضَلُّوۡا عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوۡا عَلٰٓى اَنۡفُسِهِمۡ اَنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡا كٰفِرِيۡنَ‏

 

Fa  maun  auz-la-mo  mim-ma-nay  if-ta-raa  aa-la  ul-laa-hay  ka-zay-baun                      Auo  kauz-za-ba  bay  aa-yaa-taa  he                                                                                                O-laa-aiy-ka  ya-naa-lo  hoom  na-see-bo  hoom  may-na  ul-kai-taa-bay

Hut-taa  aiy-zaa  jaa-aut  hoom  ro-so-lo  naa  ya-ta-wauf-fao-na  hoom                                Qaa-loo  aiy-na  maa  koon-toom  taud-oo-na  min  do-nay  il-laa-hay

Qaa-loo  dzaul-loo  aun  naa  wa  sha-hay-doo                                                                              Aa-laa  aun-fo-say  him  aun-na  hoom  kaa-noo  ka-fay-ree-n

 

Who is more unfair than one who concocted a lie against Allah                              Or belied His signs?                                                                                                                    They all are whom their share from the Book will reach

Until when Our Messengers reached them bringing them death                              They (the angels) said, “Where is all that you worship other than Allah.”

They (the wrongdoers) said, “They are lost from us.” And they testified              Against themselves that they had been disbelievers.

يٰبَنِىۡۤ اٰدَمَ اِمَّا يَاۡتِيَنَّكُمۡ رُسُلٌ مِّنۡكُمۡ يَقُصُّوۡنَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ اٰيٰتِىۡ‌ۙ فَمَنِ اتَّقٰى وَاَصۡلَحَ فَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُوۡنَ‏

 

Yaa  ba-ni  aa-da-ma  aum-maa                                                                                                    Yau-tay-yaun-na  koom  ro-so-loon  min  koom                                                                              Ya-qoos-soo-na  alai  koom  aa-yaa-tee                                                                                        Fa  ma-nay  it-ta-qaa  wa  aus-la-ha                                                                                                  Fa  laa  khao-foon  alai  him  wa  laa  hoom  yauh-za-noo-n

 

Listen! Children of Adam! As far as                                                                                Coming to you of messengers from among you                                                     Narrating upon you My Signs is concerned,                                                                      Then whoever practiced piety and corrected himself, Then                                        No fear upon them. And they do not grieve.

Phrase Laa-khao-foon aa-lai-him … meaning No Fear Upon Them …

 

لَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُوۡنَ

Laa  khao-foon  aa-lai-him  wa  laa  hoom-yauh-za-noo-n.

No fear upon them. And they do not grieve.

The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                           007:035

 

وَلِكُلِّ اُمَّةٍ اَجَلٌ‌ۚ فَاِذَا جَآءَ اَجَلُهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَاۡخِرُوۡنَ سَاعَةً‌ وَّلَا يَسۡتَقۡدِمُوۡنَ‏

 

Wa  lay  kool-lay  om-ma-tin  aa-ja-loon                                                                                          Fa  aiy-zaa  jaa-aa  aa-ja-lo  hoom                                                                                                  Laa  yaus-tau-khay-roo-na  saa-aa-taun                                                                                          Wa  laa  yaus-tauq-day-moo-n

 

And every nation has a fixed term.                                                                                      So, when their term has come to an end                                                                      They can’t delay it a moment                                                                                              Nor could it extend.

قُلۡ اِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّىَ الۡـفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنۡهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَ الۡاِثۡمَ وَالۡبَـغۡىَ بِغَيۡرِ الۡحَـقِّ وَاَنۡ تُشۡرِكُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ مَا لَمۡ يُنَزِّلۡ بِهٖ سُلۡطٰنًا وَّاَنۡ تَقُوۡلُوۡا عَلَى اللّٰهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

Qool  inna-maa  hur-ra-ma  rub-bee  il-fa-waa-hay-sha                                                            Maa  za-ha-ra  min  haa  wa  maa  ba-ta-na                                                                              Wa  ul-ith-ma  wa  ul-baugh-yay  bay-ghai-ray  il-huq-qay                                                        Wa  aun  toosh-ray-koo  bay  il-laa-hay                                                                                          Maa  laum  yo-nuz-zil  bay  hee  sool-taa-naun                                                                              Wa  aun  ta-qoo-loo  aa-laa  ul-laa-hay  maa  laa  tau-la-moo-n

 

Say, “My god has surely prohibited the lewdness                                                          Of that which is done openly or kept secret                                                                      And sinning or rebelling without just cause                                                                 And that you set up a partner with Allah                                                                        For which no authority has been provided                                                                 And that you say about Allah what you do not know.”

  • حَرَّمَ — Hur-ra-ma — He Prohibited (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Banned; barred; disallowed; disapproved; excluded; forbidden; interdicted; made illegal; outlawed; not permitted; proscribed; stopped. Unauthorized. A/t/a, ‘forbids’ in the present tense has not translated the past tense text in the Holy Qor-aan has used)
  • رَبِّ — Rub-bay — GOD / LORD (= The Almighty Allah who fills all needs of all creatures. Cherisher. Creator. Guardian. Lord Provident. Master. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist. See 001:002)
  • ىۡ — Ee … (il) — My (= pro., s., 1st person., I; me; my)
  • الۡـفَوَاحِشَ — Fa-waa-hay-sha — Lewdness (= n., pl., Abomination. Illegality. Immorality. Indecency. Inherently bad, evil, foul, immoral, improper, lewd, obscene, repulsive, shameful, sinful or unseemly act, conduct, deed, practice or thing. Open foul infraction. Sexual perversion. Violation. Wickedness by doing in public view any of the outrages. قُلۡ مَنۡ حَرَّمَ زِيۡنَةَ اللّٰهِ الَّتِىۡۤ اَخۡرَجَ لِعِبَادِهٖ وَالطَّيِّبٰتِ مِنَ الرِّزۡقِ‌ؕ قُلۡ هِىَ لِلَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا فِى الۡحَيٰوةِ الدُّنۡيَا خَالِصَةً يَّوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ‌ؕ كَذٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الۡاٰيٰتِ لِقَوۡمٍ يَّعۡلَمُوۡنَ

Qool  maun  haur-ra-ma  ze-na-ta  ul-laa-hay  il-la-tee  aukh-ra-ja                                        Lay  aiy-baa-day  he  wa  ut-tuy-yay-baa-tay  may-na  ur-riz-qay                                        Qool  hay-ya  lay  il-la-zee-na  aa-ma-noo  fee  il-ha-yaa-tay                                                      Id-doon-yaa  khaa-lay-sa-ta  yao-may  il-qay-yaa-ma-tay                                                    Ka-zaa-lay-ka  no-faus-say-lo  ol-aa-yaa-tay  lay  qao-min  yau-la-moo-n 

 

 Say, “Who prohibited Allah’s beauties He produced                                                 For His servants and the clean foods out of all subsistence?”                             Say, “It is for those who have believed — in the life                                                       Of this world and exclusively on the day of Judgment.”                                              Like this We explain the Signs for people who know.
