The Holy Qor-aan 002:255
يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اَنۡفِقُوۡا مِمَّا رَزَقۡنٰكُمۡ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِ اَنۡ يَّاۡتِىَ يَوۡمٌ لَّا بَيۡعٌ فِيۡهِ وَلَا خُلَّةٌ وَّلَا شَفَاعَةٌ وَالۡكٰفِرُوۡنَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمُوۡن
Yaa-auy-yo-hul-la-zee-na-aa-ma-noo Un-fay-qoo-mim-maa-ra-zuq-naa-koom Min-qub-lay-un-yau-tay-ya-yao-moon-laa Bai-oon-fee-hay-wa-laa-khool-la-toon-wa-laa-sha-faa-aa-ta Wul-kaa-fay-roo-na-ho-mooz-zaa-lay-moo-n.
Listen, you all who have believed! Spend out of what We provided you Before surely comes the day that there will be no Bargaining in it and no friendship and no intercession. And the ungrateful really are the wrongdoers.
The Holy Qor-aan has used the Phrase Yaa-auy-yo-hul-la-zee-na-aa-ma-noo many times
- يٰۤ — Yaa — Listen (= Be attentive; hearken; pay attention; O!)
- اَيُّهَا — Auy-yo-ha(ul) — You all (= All addressees; entire audience; whole lot of listeners)
- ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Those articles, things or persons
- اٰمَنُوۡۤ — Aa-ma-noo — They Believed (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Believed in the Holy Qor-aan; became Moslems. Accepted, acknowledged, admitted or witnessed their entry in Iss-laam. - اَنۡفِقُوۡا — Un-fay-qoo — You spend (= v., Contribute; donate; give in charity. Expend, lay, put or use for noble purposes. Help those in need. Invest in good causes. Practice giving alms. Spend your belongings, substance and wealth in the causes of Allah)
- مِمَّا — Mim-ma — Out of what (= Words ‘Min’ meaning ‘from’ and ‘Ma’ meaning what. A/t/a ‘Out of the bounties’ and ‘Bestow in alms a part of what We have given you’)
- رَزَقۡ — Ra-zuq — Provided (= v., past t., Bestowed; blessed; conferred; delivered; donated; furnished; gave; gifted; granted; supplied)
- نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Us. Used with God’s name it reflects the authoritative way a higher-up talks to a subordinate)
- کُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. The Holy Qor-aan states
- مِّنۡ — Min — From (= From among; from a class, category or count of)
- قَبۡلِ — Qub-lay — Before (= Earlier, former, older, past or prior times. Aforetime. Ahead. Something that happened or occurred in prior periods antecedently, historically and previously)
- اَنَّ — Un…(ya) –Surely (= Absolutely; assuredly; certainly; clearly; definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively, really; verily)
- يَّاۡتِىَ — Ya-tay-ya — Comes (= 1. Accomplishes; arrives; brings; concludes; confers; decides; delivers; dictates; directs; entrusts; gives; grants; hands down; instructs; lays down; mandates; reaches; shows)
- يَوۡمٌ — Yau-moon — The day (= Judgment Day; Resurrection; Also period of time)
- لَّا — Laa — No more (= Absolute negation; denying; no; nor; not)
- بَيۡعٌ — Bai-oon — Bargaining * (= n., Bartering; buying and selling; exchanging by give and take; negotiating; trading; trafficking)
- فِيۡ — Fee — In (= Contained or inside a duration, event, time, place, period, thing or situation. 2. Concerning; in the natter of in reference to, regarding; relative to)
- هِ — Hay — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to to the aforesaid day)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- لَا — Laa — No (= Absolute negation; denying; no; nor; not)
- خُلَّةٌ — Khool-la-toon — Friendship * (= n., Association; companionship. Doing someone a favor at one’s own volition. See the Note below)
- وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- لَا — Laa — No (= Absolute negation; denying; no; nor; not)
- شَفَاعَةٌ — Sha-fa-aa-ta — Intercession * (= n., Intervention or recommendation requesting leniency as a favor to someone else. A request by a third party to do someone a favor. See the Note below)
- وَ — Wa .. (ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- الۡكٰفِرُوۡنَ — Kaa-fay-roon — Ungrateful (= 1. Denier or rejecters of faith, truth or this admonition. 2. Disbelievers; infidels; nonbelievers; thankless; unbelievers)
- هُمُ — Ho-mo..(oz) –They (= They all; refers to all human beings)
- الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ Zaa-lay-moon Wrongdoers (= Unfair; unjust. Really the ungrateful are unfair, unjust and wrongdoers
* Note:002:255. The use of three different words in this verse has a great significance. Each word conveys a very distinct concept which is not included in the other two words.
- The word خُلَّةٌ conveys the concept that someone of his own volition does a favor to another person without any third party requesting for that.
- The word شَفَاعَةٌ conveys the concept that someone does a favor to another at the behest, beseeching, intercession, intervention, recommendation or request of a third party.
- The word بَيۡعٌ conveys the concept of completing an arrangement after two persons have bartered, exchanged, negotiated, traded or trafficked with an even-handed give and take.
