The Holy Qor-aan 004:171
يٰۤـاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدۡ جَآءَكُمُ الرَّسُوۡلُ بِالۡحَـقِّ مِنۡ رَّبِّكُمۡ فَاٰمِنُوۡا خَيۡرًا لَّـكُمۡ ؕ وَاِنۡ تَكۡفُرُوۡا فَاِنَّ لِلّٰهِ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ ؕ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلِيۡمًا حَكِيۡمًا
Yaa-auy-yo-hun-naa-so-qud-jaa-aa-ko-moor-ra-so-lo Bil-huq-qay-mir-rub-bay-koom-fa-aa-may-noo-khai-run-la-koom Wa-in-tuk-fo-roo-fa-in-na Lil-laa-hay-maa-fis-sa-maa-waa-tay-wa-maa-fil-ur-dzay Wa-kaa-nul-laa-ho-alee-mun-ha-kee-maa
Listen, People! Surely the Messenger came to you With the truth from your God. So believe. It’s excellent for you. And if you disbelieve then certainly For Allah is all that is in the heavens and earth And Allah has always been the Most Knowing, Very Wise
The Holy Qor-aan has used the Phrase Yaa-auy-yo-hun-naa-so … in many places
- يٰۤ — Yaa — Listen (= Be attentive; pay attention; O!)
- اَيُّهَا — Auy-yo-h(un) — All (= All, entire or whole of the addressees or audience)
- النَّاسُ — Naa-so — People (= Folks; mankind; nation. A/t/a, ‘O Mankind!’ and ‘Men’)
- قَدۡ — Qud — Surely (= This word lays emphasis like indeed, surely, very definitely. See Note 004:049 and Commentary 2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect)
- جَآءَ — Jaa-aa — Came (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Arrived; reached; returned, Also, the word can mean achieved, brought, delivered, settled, succeeded or would come. A/t/a, ‘hath come,’ ‘has come’ and ‘has brought’)
- كُمُ — Ko-mo(or) — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You. A/t/a, ‘unto you’)
- الرَّسُوۡلُ — Ro-sa-lo — Messenger (= n., s., Apostle; God’s messenger; prophet; sage; saint. A/t/a, ‘Messenger (Muhammad s.a.w)’
- بِ — B…(il) — With (= Literally the word بِ means with. A/t/a, ‘ in’)
- الۡحَـقِّ — Ul-huq-qay — The Truth (= Appropriate; equitable; exactness; fair; fairness; just; just cause; justification; justice; justified conduct; preciseness; proper; reasonableness; suitable. Right. The word is also used to mean Islam, the Right Faith. A/t/a, ‘the truth’ and ‘Truth’)
- مِنۡ — Min –From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several
- رَبِّ — Rub-bay — The Lord God Provident (= The Almighty Allah who fills all needs of all His creatures; Creator; Lord; Master; One Who sustains; The Ultimate Provider of Air, water, food and whatever we need to live and subsist. A/t/a, ‘Lord’)
- كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. Generally this is the way the Holy Qor-aan addresses men and women)
- فَ — Fa — So (= After all this; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; in conclusion; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus)
- اٰمِنُوۡا — Aa-may-noo — You believe (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Believe in the Holy Qor-aan; become Moslem; enter the Faith of Isslaam A/t/a, ‘Have faith’ and ‘believe in him.’ See our Commentaries Islam – 101 and Belief & Disbelieve)
- خَيۡرًا — Khai-run — Excellent (= Absolutely the tops; at apex; best; greatest; highest; supreme; superior most; the top. Comparatively better, superior or of greater, higher or more value. A/t/a, ‘it is’ better,’ ‘it will be better’ and ‘it shall be well’ [njd])
- لَ — La — For (= For person, purpose or reason; intended or meant for; concerning; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, ‘with’)
- كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . See كُمۡ above)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
- اِنۡ — In — If (= In case; under the circumstances; when; when situation arises; whenever)
- تَكۡفُرُوۡا — Tuk-fo-roo — You disbelieve (= v., pres, pl., 2nd person. Deny, refuse or reject the Faith or belief in Allah, the Holy Qor-aan, Islam and become Moslem. For more meanings see our Commentary Believe and Disbelieve)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= After all this; at the end; consequently; so; then; thus. See فَ above. A/t/a, ‘know that’)
- اِنَّ — In-na — Certainly (= Absolutely; assuredly; categorically; certainly; clearly, decidedly; definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; for sure; indeed; positively; really; seriously; sincerely; specifically; surely; truly; verily. A/t/a, ‘Lo’)
The “Phrase lil-laa-hay …” in the next nine (9) words is repeated in several places

- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)

- السَّمٰوٰتِ — Sa-maa-waa-tay — The heavens (= n., pl., All above ground or earth; clouds; firmament; heavens; rain; skies; universe. Also, knowledge of astronomical objects in space)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
- مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever)
- فِى — F… (il) — In (= About, inside a time, place or thing. See فِىۡ above)
- الۡاَرۡضِ — Ul-ur-dzay — Earth (= n., s., Area; country; earth; ground; land; territory. Also, life on earth, nation; people or society in general)
