The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                               007:073

 

فَاَنۡجَيۡنٰهُ وَالَّذِيۡنَ مَعَهٗ بِرَحۡمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَ قَطَعۡنَا دَابِرَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِنَا‌ وَمَا كَانُوۡا مُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ

 

Fa  aun-jai-naa  ho  wa  ul-ze-na  ma-aa  hoo
B
ay  rauh-ma-tin  min  naa
Wa  qa-tau-naa  daa-bay-ra  ul-la-ze-na
Kauz-za-boo  bay  aa-yaa-tay  naa
Wa  maa  kaa-noo  moe-may-nee-n

 

Then We rescued him and those who were with him
With mercy from Us
And We cut off the following of those
Who belied Our Signs.
And they were not Believers.

 

  • فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; so; thereafter; therefore; then; thus; yet. A/t/a, ‘And’ and ‘so’)
  • اَنۡجَيۡنٰ — Aun-jai-naa — We rescued (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Protected; recovered; saved. The past tense verb for single 3rd person is converted into that of plural 1st person as explained in Note 001:007. A/t/a, ‘We saved,’ ‘we delivered’ and ‘we rescued’)
  • هُ — Ho — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid. A/t/a, ‘Houd’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Aul-la-ze-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those articles, persons, or phenomenon or things in masculine gender)
  • مَعَ — Ma-aa — With (= Alongside; also; as well; along with; besides; following; furthermore; in addition; in the company of; likewise; moreover. A/t/a, ‘who adhered to’)
  • هُ — Ho — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid Prophet. A/t/a, ‘his companions’)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word  بِ  means with. A/t/a, ‘by,’ ‘in’ and ‘through’)
  • رَحۡمَةٍ — Rauh-ma-tin — Mercy (= n., Beneficence. Clemency. Compassion. Condoning. Forgiveness.  Intercession. Intervention.  Kindness. Leniency. Omitting, relenting or waiving punishment. A/t/a, ‘mercy’ and ‘a mercy’)
  • مِّنَّ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several
  • نَّا — Naa — Us (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us. A/t/a, ‘Us’ and ‘our’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
  • قَطَعۡنَا — Qa-tau-naa — We cut off (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Amputated; axed; broke;   destroyed; dissolved; disunited; ended; finished; let go; ended; removed; severed; separated; terminated. The past tense verb for single 3rd person is converted into that of plural 1st person as explained in Note 001:007. A/t/a, ‘We cut off,’ ‘we cut,’ ‘We rooted out,’ ‘we severed’ and ‘annihilated’)
  • دَابِرَ — Daa-bay-ra … (ul) — The end  (= n., The ending part; those who are at the rear end of a  group; the rear enders. A/t/a, ‘the last remanent of’ and ‘the roots’)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Aul-la-ze-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid. See ٱلَّذِينَ  above)
  • كَذَّبُوۡا — Kauz-za-boo — They belied (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Belied; contradicted; denied; derided, denounced, disowned, disproved; falsified; opposed, misrepresented, negated; rejected. Accused or charged with falsehood. Treated as liars. A/t/a, ‘rejected,’ ‘denied,’ ‘cried lies’ and ‘disbelieved’)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with. A/t/a, ‘in’)
  • اٰيٰتِ — Aa-ya-tay — Signs (= n., pl of … An argument, corroboration, indication,  insinuation, pointer, portent, prof, sign, suggestion, symbol or token. See Note 002:074. A/t/a, ‘messages,’ ‘revelations’ and ‘Ayat … (the usual by mmk, tda)
  • نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us. A/t/a, ‘Our’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above. A/t/a, ‘for’)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — Not (= Never; no; not at all. A/t/a, ‘not’)
  • كَانُوۡۤا — Kaa-noo — Used to (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; had been; went on; were doing. Words has or had always been indicate endless continuity from the past to the present and leading into the future. A/t/a, ‘did,’ ‘were,’ ‘had’ and ‘they would’)
  • مُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ — Moe-may-nee-n — Believers (= n,. pl., Adherents of Islam. Those who enter the Faith, believe and follow the Holy Qor-aan, the Iss-laam and become Moslems. Men of faith. The faithful. A/t/a, ‘Believers’ and ‘unbelievers.’ But verbs as in the ‘believed’ and ‘believe’ have not translated the noun used in the text of the Holy Qor-aan)
