The Holy Qor-aan 007:084
فَاَنۡجَيۡنٰهُ وَاَهۡلَهٗۤ اِلَّا امۡرَاَتَهٗ ۖ كَانَتۡ مِنَ الۡغٰبِرِيۡنَ
Fa aun-jai-naa ho wa ah-la hoo il-la um-ra-aa-to hoo
Kaa-naut may-na ul-ghaa-bay-ree-n
So We extracted him and his family except his wife.
She had been among the laggers.
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; so; thereafter; therefore; then; thus; yet
- اَنۡجَيۡنٰ — Aun-jai-naa — We extracted (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Protected; recovered; rescued; saved. The past tense verb for single 3rd person is converted into that of plural 1st person as explained in Note 001:007. A/t/a, ‘We delivered,’ ‘We saved’ and ‘We rescued’)
- هُ — Ho — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid Prophet Lot)

- هٗ — Hoo — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid Prophet Lot)
- اِلَّاۤ — Il-laa … (um) — Except (= Except; saving. A/t/a, ‘save’)
- امۡرَاَتَ — Aum-ra-aa-to –Wife (= n., s., Female human. Woman. A/t/a, ‘wife’)
- هٗ — Hoo — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid Prophet Lot)
- كَانَتۡ — Kaa-naut — She had been (= v., past., s., f., 3rd person., Continued doing; used to; went on; were doing. Words has or had always been indicate endless continuity from the past to the present and leading into the future. A/t/a, ‘was’ and ‘chose to be’)
- مِنَ — May-na … (ul) — Among (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several. A/t/a, ‘of’ and ‘one of’)
- الۡغٰبِرِيۡنَ — Ghaa-bay-ree-n — The laggers (= n., pl., Those who chose to remain and stay behind. Back-benchers. Laggers. Non-Conformists. Resisters. Thwarters. A/t/a, ‘who lagged behind,’ ‘who remained behind,’ ‘who remained behind (in the torment),’ ‘who stayed behind’ and ‘who were destroyed’)
