The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                       007:110

 

قَالَ الۡمَلَاُ مِنۡ قَوۡمِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ اِنَّ هٰذَا لَسٰحِرٌ عَلِيۡمٌ ۙ‏

 

Qaa-la  ul-ma-la-o  min  qao-may  phir-auo-na
In-na  haa-zaa  la  saa-hay-roon  aa-lee-m

 

The leaders of the people of Pharoah said,
“This man surely is a knowledgeable magician.”

 

  • قَا لَ — Qaa-la — Said (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person. Announced; called; conveyed countered; declared; stated or told. See 002:031. A/t/a,  ‘said (to each other)’
  • الۡمَلَاُ — Ma-la-o — Leaders (= n., pl., Bosses; chiefs; heads; gurus; heroes; generals; people in the forefront. A/t/a, ‘some of the chiefs’ and The elders’)
  • مِنۡ –Min —  From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • قَوۡمِ — Qao-may — People (= n., s., Addressees; attendees; fellows; followers; folks;     nation; party; people; tribe. A/t/a, ‘people’ and ‘the people’)
  • فِرۡعَوۡنَ — Phir-auo-na — Pharaoh (= n.,  Dictatorial monarchs of Egypt. Also used for one who is arrogant, boastful, pride-stricken, vanity rich or with big ego. A/t /a, ‘Of Pharoah,’ ‘Fir’aun,’ and ‘Poharoah’s’)
  • اِنَّ — In-na — Certainly (= Absolutely; assuredly; clearly; definitely; indeed; positively; surely; verily. verily. See Commentary “2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect.” A/t/a, ‘indeed,’ ‘surely,’ ‘most surely’ and ‘lo’)
  • هٰذَا — Has-zaa — This (= This particularly pointed out; present right here; what is in front of you. A/t/a, ‘This (fellow),’ ‘This is’ and ‘this man’)
  • لَ — La — Certainly (= Absolutely; indeed. See  اِنَّ  above. A/t/a, ‘most surely’)
  • سٰحِرٌ — Saa-hay-roon —  Magician (= n., One who practices magic, deception, enchantment, evil crafts and falsehood. Creator of modes of intrigues. Illusionist. Practitioner of sorcery, false impressions, trickery, witchcraft or imaginary untruths. A/t/a, ‘enchanter,’ ‘magician,’ ‘sorcerer’ and ‘some … wizard’)
  • عَلِيۡمُ — Aa-lee-m –Knowledgeable (= adj., He is a man who knows his craft well. Informed well. Expert. The One with real knowledge. Highly skilled. Knowledgeable. Well-Acquainted. Wel-aware. Well-versed.  A/t/a, ‘skilful,’ ‘skilled,’ ‘well-versed’ and ‘knowing’)
