The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                           007:116

قَالُواْ يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلۡقِىَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُلۡقِينَ

Qaa-loo  yaa  moo-saa  im-maa  aun  tool-qay-ya
Wa  im-maa  aun  na-koo-na  nauh-no  l-mool-qee-n

They said, “Listen Moses! Would it be that you cast spell
Or would it be that we, only we, are Casters of spell.”

• قَا لُوۡا — Qaa-loo — They said (= v., past, pl., m., 3^rdperson: All those men announced,       called, declared or told. See Note 112:002. A/t/a, ‘The magicians said’)
• يٰۤ — Yaa — Listen (= Be attentive; hearken; pay attention; ‘O’ and ‘to’)
• مُوسَىٰٓ — Moo-sas — Moses (= The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah. A/t/a, ‘Musa (Moses)’
• اِمَّا — Im-maa — Would it be (= This combines two words. The first اِنۡ means If; if situation arises; in case; under the circumstances.” The second  مَا  means All that, what; whatever, whatsoever; when; whenever; which; whichever. The combined word/phrase اِمَّا means In case, if ever, when, whenever the relevant situation arises, or could or would it be. A/t/a, ‘Wilt,’ ‘will’ and ‘Either’)
• أَن — Aun — That (= So that. The fact is that)
• تُلۡقِىَ –Tool-qay-ya — You cast (= v., pres., s., 2^nd person. Cast, hand, show, pour, present or throw. Here ref is to a spell of magic. A/t/a, ‘thou throw (first),’ ‘throw you first,’  ‘thou cast,’ ‘thou throw first,’ ‘you make your cast,’ ‘throw (first),’ ‘you present (first what you have),’ ‘you cast first,’ ‘you throw (first)’ and ‘you first throw down your staff’)
• وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; but; moreover; though; when; whereupon; while; yet. A/t/a, ‘Or’)
• اِمَّا — Im-maa — Could it be (= This combines two words. See اِمَّا above if ever,  when, whenever the relevant situation arises, or could or would it be A/t/a, ‘Shall’)
• أَن — Aun —  That (= So that. The fact is that)
• نَّكُونَ — Na-koo-na — We have been (= v, past., pl., 1st person. Became. Happened. Occurred. Taken or took place or shape. A/t/a, ‘ be,’ ‘have’ and ‘let’)
• نَحۡنُ — Nah-no … (ol) — We (= pro., pl., 1^st person. We; us)
• ٱلۡمُلۡقِينَ — Mool-qee-n — Casters of spell (= n., pl., Those who cast, hand, show, pour, present or throw spells of magic. A/t/a, ‘the first throwers,’ ‘the (first) ones to present,’ and ‘(the first to) cast.’ But ‘The (first) throw,’ ‘the first throw’ and the verb as in ‘cast’ have not translated the Holy Qor-aan text)
