اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰ لِكَ لَاٰيَةً‌  ؕ وَّمَا كَانَ اَكۡثَرُهُمۡ مُّؤۡمِنِيۡنَ

In-na-fee-zaa-lay-ka-la-aa-ya-ton-wa-maa-kaa-na-uk-tha-ro-hoom-moe-may-nee-n 

In this is most certainly a Sign. And most of them have not been believers.

وَمَاۤ اَضَلَّنَاۤ اِلَّا الۡمُجۡرِمُوۡنَ

Wa-maa-aa-dzul-la-naa-il-lul-mooj-ray-moo-n 

And none misled us except the wrongdoers.

So surely if for us was a return, then we would be among the believers.

قَالُوۡا وَهُمۡ فِيۡهَا يَخۡتَصِمُوۡنَۙ

Qaa-loo-wa-hoom-fee-ha-yukh-ta-say-moo-n

They said and they were still arguing about it.

  • قَالُوۡا — Qaa-loo  — They said (= v., past, pl., m., 3rdperson: All those men announced;       called; declared; told. Tul-laa-hay-in-koon-naa-la-fee-za-laa-lin-mo-bee-n

By God we surely would have been in an error, very clear.

  • تَاللّٰهِ  Tul-laa — By Allah (= Swearing by invoking the name of Allah. An oath and expression about that the statement that follows is Truth, and nothing but the Truth. A/t/a, ‘By Allah’ and ‘By God’)

The  1st word is  كُنۡ  (koon) that is a verb in the past tense and means used to, have or had been since the past, and is  continuing from the past to the present and leads into the future, like ‘continued doing’ or ‘went on doing’. The 2nd word is  نَآ  (naa) meaning we, us or ours. The  combination means We would have become, been, shaped, shown, taken or turned into A/t/a, ‘We were’ and ‘we’)

وَقِيۡلَ لَهُمۡ اَيۡنَمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُوۡنَۙ 

Wa-qee-la-la-hoom-aina-maa-koon-toom-tau-bo-doo-n 

And said to them was, “Where is all that you used to worship?”

Min-do-nil-laa-hay-hul-yun-so-roo-na-koom-auo-yun-ta-say-roo-n

Other than Allah? Do they help you or help themselves?

  • مِنۡ دُوۡنِ — Min-do-n … (il) — Other than (= Combination of two words. The first word  مِنۡ (min) means among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kinds, things or person. The second word  دُوۡنِ  (do-nay) means besides, beyond, except, excluding or save. Jointly the two words mean apart from, exclusive of, other than, instead of, in place of, in preference to, rather than, ‘to the exclusion of.               A/t/a, other than,’ ‘Besides,’ ‘beside,’ ‘instead of’ and ‘Apart from’)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • هَلۡ — Hull — Do (= Word asking a question like are, can, could, do; did; have, had, shell, should, will, would, what, etc.)
  • يَنۡصُرُوۡنَ — Yun-so-roo-na — Help (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Aid; assist. A/t/a, ‘help’ and ‘they come to your help’)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. The Holy Qor-aan addresses men and women jointly this way generally)
  • اَوۡ —  Auo — Or (= Alternatively; in substitution)
  • يَنۡتَصِرُوۡنَ — Yun-ta-say-roo-n– Help (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Aided, assisted or availed. A/t/a, ‘procure help for themselves,’ ‘help themselves’ and ‘inflict punishment’)

فَكُبۡكِبُوۡا فِيۡهَا هُمۡ وَالۡغَاوٗنَۙ‏

Fa-koob-kay-boo-fee-haa-hoom-wul-ghaa-voo-n

So thrown headlong into it (fire) will be they and the Errant.

The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                   026:088

وَلَا تُخۡزِنِىۡ يَوۡمَ يُبۡعَثُوۡنَۙ 

Wa-laa-tookh-zay-nee-yao-ma-yoob-aa-thoo-na 

And do not disgrace me the day they are raised.

يَوۡمَ لَا يَنۡفَعُ مَالٌ وَّلَا بَنُوۡنَۙ‏

Yao-ma-laa-yun-fa-o-maa-loom-wa-laa-ba-no0-na

The day benefits neither wealth nor children.

Il-laa-mun-aa-tul-laa-ha-bay-qaul-bin-sa-lee-m 

Except whoever came to Allah with a peaceful heart.

وَاُزۡلِفَتِ الۡجَـنَّةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَۙ‏   

Wa-ooz-lay-fa-til-jun-na-ta-lil-moot-ta-qee-n 

And the Paradise brought near for the Righteous.
