قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌ۬ وَقَدۡ بَلَغَنِىَ ٱلۡڪِبَرُ وَٱمۡرَأَتِى عَاقِرٌ۬‌ۖ قَالَ كَذَٲلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفۡعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ

 

Qaa-la-rub-bay-un-naa-ya-koo-no-lee-gho-laa-moon                                                          Wa-qud-ba-la-gha-nay-yul-kay-ba-ro-wum-ra-atee-aa-qir                                                     Qa-la-ka-zaa-lay-kul-laa-ho-yuf-aa-lo-maa-ya-shaa-o.

 

He (Zacharias) said, “My God, how can there be a son for me                             And old age has surely reached me and my wife is barren.”                                        He said, “That is how Allah does what He pleases.”

 

  • قَالَ — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Asked; conveyed; declared; inquired; queried; specified; stated; submitted; told)
  • رَبِّ — Rub-bay — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures; Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. The Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
  • اَنّٰى — Un-na — How come (= From where; how could it be; whence)
  • يَكُونُ — Ya-koo-no — Be (= Conveys the meanings of ‘continuation from the past or future possibility)
  • لِى — Lee — For me (= Combination of two words.  لِ  means ‘for the benefit, purpose or reason; with intent to or object of so that; towards. And  ى refers to ‘me, in the first person)
  • غُلَـٰمٌ۬ — Gho-laa-moon — Youth as son   (= Servant; slave; person owned by another person)
  • وَ  — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but;  also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • قَدۡ — Qud — Surely (= This word lays emphasis. Absolutely; categorically; assuredly; certainly; clearly; definitely; specially; doubtlessly; obviously; for sure; in spite of; positively; specifically; verily; with no doubt whatsoever)
  • بَلَغَ — Ba-la-gha — Reached (= v., Approached; arrived; attained; come upon; filled;  finished; overtaken by)
  • نِىَ — Nay-ya…(ul) — Me (= s.. m & f. 1st person. I / me / my)
  • ٱلۡڪِبَرُ — Kay-ba-ro — Old age (= Pensioners’ age; senior citizens; well-advanced in age
  • وَ — Wa…(um) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • ٱمۡرَأَ تِى — Um-ra-atee — Woman (= Combination of two words.  ٱمۡرَأَتِ means wife or woman and ى  refers to me, a single person)
  • عَا قِر — Aa-qir — Barren (= Unable to bear child, become pregnant; carry and conceive pregnancy)
  • قَالَ — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Announced; answered; replied; responded; specified; stated; told)
  • كَذَٲلِكَ — Ka-zaa-lay-ka — That is how (= Combination of two words.  كَ (Ka) means ‘example, identical to, like, resembling, similar to or similitude.’  ذٰلِكَ (Zaa-lay-ka)..(ul) means ‘this, right in here and refers to an aforesaid fact, person or statement.’ When   joined  كَذَٲلِكَ  means ‘Like this, Such is the power; So it                                                              will be; Such is the way, This is how’)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • يَفۡعَلُ — Yuf-aa-lo — Does (= Accomplishes; acts; brings about; performs. Also shows His power to do what He wills)
  • مَا — Maa — What (= All that; if; whatever; whatsoever; when; whenever)
  • يَّشَآءُ — Ya-shaa-o — He pleases (= v., pres., Does or will choose, decide, decree, desire, destine, dictate; like, mandate, order, please; prefer; rule, select, want, will or wish)

فَنَادَتۡهُ الۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآٮِٕمٌ يُّصَلِّىۡ فِى الۡمِحۡرَابِۙ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحۡيٰى مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَسَيِّدًا

وَّحَصُوۡرًا وَّنَبِيًّا مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ‏

 

Fa-naa-dut-hool-ma-laa-aiy-ka-to-wa-ho-wa                                                                          Qaa-aiy-moon-yo-sul-lee-fil-maih-raa-bay                                                                                  Un-nul-la-ha-yo-baush-shay-ro-ka-bay-yah-yaa                                                                    Mo-sud-day-qun-bay-ka-lay-ma-tin-may-nul-laa-hay                                                           Wa-suy-yay-dun-wa-ha-soo-run-wa-na-be-yun-may-nus-sua-lay-hee-n.

 

Then the angels called out to him and he was                                                                  Standing in the chambers praying.                                                                                 “Surely Allah gives you the good news of Yah-yaa                                                    Fulfilling the word from Allah                                                                                                 And as a leader and pious and prophet from among the righteous.”

  • يَحۡيٰى — Yah-yaa — Yah-yaa (= The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah; John. The  word means ‘Brought to, given or quickened to life.’ This is a reference is to John)
  • مُصَدِّقًۢا — Mo-sud-day-qun — Fulfilling (= adj., Satisfying.  As a v., Bearing truthfulness; affirming, approving, attesting, authenticating, confirming, corroborating, establishing, proving, testifying, verifying or witnessing the truth of and the prophecies in earlier  scriptures. As a n., He who or anything that affirms, approves, affirms or confirms. Testator. Truthful. Verifier. Witness)
  • ب — Bay — With (= About; entitled to; of; in ref to; relative to; suited for)
  • كَلِمَةٍ — Ka-lay-ma-tin — A word (= n., s, Sign. Affirmation; announcement; assignment; command; declaration; inspiration; message; phrase; prayer; promise; proof. pronouncement; revelation; speech; statement. What combines many words to
    form a message)
  • مِنَ — May-na…(ul) — From (= From)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • سَيِّدًا — Suy-yay-dun — Leader (= Chief; controller; director; highly respected; honored; honorable; in-charge; leader; lordly; master; noble; princely)
  • وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • حَصُوۡرًا — Ha-soo-run — Pious (= Chaste; clean; holy; righteous; spiritual; upright.  The word is also translated by some translators as the “Keeping away from sexual relations with women” and by others as the ‘Utterly chaste’)

هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهٗ‌ ‌ۚ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبۡ لِىۡ مِنۡ لَّدُنۡكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً‌ۚ  اِنَّكَ سَمِيۡعُ الدُّعَآءِ‏

 

Hona-lay-ka-da-aa-za-ka-re-ya-rub-ba-hoo                                                                            Qaa-la-rub-bay-hub-lee-min-la-doon-ka                                                                                    Zoor-re-ya-tun-tuy-yay-ba-tun-in-na-ka-sa-me-ood-do-aa.

 

 On that Zacharias prayed to his God.                                                                            “My God, grant me from only You a pious progeny.                                                   You certainly are the Hearer of the prayers.”

  • طَيِّبَةً‌ — Toy-yay-ba-ton — Pious (= Best; clean; fairest; goodly; holy; honorable; legal; noble; pure; righteous; upright; without blemish
  • اِنَّ — In-na — Most certainly   (= Absolutely; definitely; doubtlessly; indeed; positively;  really; surely; truly; verily)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
  • سَمِيۡعٌ — Sa-mee..(ood) — Hearer (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most, and highlights that none more than Him hears the best. All-hearing. Most Hearing. The Hearer. Hears to the ultimate maximum. Hears all wholly, entirely,  surely, totally and truly. Real Hearer. The One from whom nothing is beyond, missed or out of His hearing

فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُوۡلٍ حَسَنٍ وَّاَنۡۢبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًا ۙ وَّكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا ‌ؕ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيۡهَا زَكَرِيَّا الۡمِحۡرَابَۙ وَجَدَ عِنۡدَهَا رِزۡقًا ‌ۚ‌ قَالَ يٰمَرۡيَمُ اَنّٰى لَـكِ هٰذَاؕ‌ قَالَتۡ هُوَ مِنۡ عِنۡدِ اللّٰهِ‌ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَرۡزُقُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٍ‏

 

Fa-ta-qub-ba-la-haa-rub-bo-haa-bay-qa-boo-lin-ha-sa-nin                                                   Wa-un-ba-ta-haa-na-baa-tun-ha-sa-nun-wa-kuf-fa-la-haa-za-ka-re-yaa                            Kool-la-maa-da-kha-la-alai-haa-za-ka-re-yaul-maih-raa-ba                                              Wa-ja-da-in-da-haa-riz-qun                                                                                                            Qaa-la-yaa-mar-ya-mo-un-na-la-kay-haa-zaa                                                                        Qaa-lut-ho-wa-min-in-dil-laa-hay                                                                                                In-nul-laa-ha-yur-za-qo-mun-ya-shaa-o-bay-ghai-ray-hay-saa-b.

 

So her God accepted her with a gracious acceptance                                                  And granted her excellent development. And Zacharias took her custody. Every time Zacharias entered her chamber                                                                   He found with her the eatables.                                                                                            He said, “Listen Mary, where did you get this.”                                                             She said, “This is from Allah.”                                                                                              Surely Allah provides whom He pleases without measure.

  • اَنۡۢبَتَ — Un-ba-ta — Developed (= v., Caused, destined, granted, made or vouchsafed her to grow, sprout and prosper. Commentators have  added “caused her to grow in purity and beauty”)

  • نَبَاتًا — Na-baa-tun — Development (= n., Growing up; growth; multiplication of virtues)
  • حَسَنًا — Ha-sa-nun — Excellent (= Beautiful; excellent; fantastic; full; goodly; graceful; great; in good manner; wonderful. A/t/a “In great spurts”)
  • وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَّ  above)
  • كَفَّلَ — Kuf-fa-la — Took custody  (= v., past., Appointed a custodian; became guardian;  Two translations of this word have been made.  “He acted as the custodian; he became the guardian.”   “He was appointed, assigned, entrusted or given the charge [or to take care] of her”)
  • هَا — Haa — Her (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to Mary)
  • زَكَرِيَّا — Za-ka-re-ya — Zacharias (= The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah)
  • كُلَّمَا — Kool-la-maa — Every time (= This is a combination of two words. The first word كُلٌّ  means ‘all, altogether, each and everyone, entirely, everyone, everything, totally, without exception or wholly’. The second word  مَا  means ‘all that, any time, at such time; when; whenever, what, whatever.’ Joined together كُلَّمَا  means “every single time without any exception, as often as, as soon as; no sooner than.”
  • دَخَلَ — Da-kha-la — Entered (= v. past.,, Appeared; arrived; came upon; reached out;  visited)
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; for; on top of; over; upon)
  • هَا — Haa — Her (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to Mary)
  • زَكَرِيَّا — Za-ka-re-ya.(ul) — Zacharias (= The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah)

  • وَجَدَ — Wa-ja-da — He found (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Came upon; discovered; noticed perceived; realized; saw)
  • عِنۡدَ– In-da — With (= Close at hand; supplied with)
  • هَا — Haa — Her (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to Mary)
  • رِزۡقًا — Riz-qun — Eatables (= n., Consumable necessities to continue life; food; provisions; sustenance. Also, assets, money, property, resources, wealth and worldly goods. A/t/a, ‘Provided’ and ‘supplied’ with sustenance’)
  • قَالَ — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Asked; conveyed; declared; emanded; inquired; queried; specified; stated; told. M Zafrulla Khan added here “One day he said to her”)
  • يٰۤ — Yaa — Listen (= O!; be attentive; pay attention)
  • يٰمَرۡيَمُ — Mur-ya-mo — Mary (= The mother of Jesus Christ)
  • اَنّٰى — Un-naa — Where (= From where; how come; whence has this come from)
  • لَ — La — For (= For the benefit, object, purpose or reason; with intent to
  • كِ  — Kay — You (= Pronoun refers to you single person in female gender)
  • هَـٰذَا — Haa-zaa — This (= The article, thing or person present before the talker. Two translations of above four words: ‘From where ‘All this has come for you.‘ And ‘Did you get this‘)
  • قَالَتۡ — Qaa-lut — She said (= v., past, s., f., 3rd person., Answered; replied; declared; specified; submitted; stated; told)
  • هُوَ — Ho-wa — That (= m/gender; Refers to the food that was found there)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= From the class, category, count, kind, person or out of)
  • عِنۡدَ — In-d…(il) — Near (= Close at hand; in the counting by; with)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • اِنَّ — In-na..(ul) — Definitely (= Absolutely; certainly; doubtlessly; indeed; positively; really; surely; truly; verily)

  • يَرۡزُقُ — Yur-zo-qo — He provides (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Awards, bequeaths; bestows, confers, delivers, donates, furnishes, gives, grants, provides, showers or supplies necessities of life such as food, clothing, shelter, money, property, provisions,  worldly goods and other elements that sustain life)
  • مَنۡ — Mun — Whom (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whoso)
  • يَّشَآءُ — Ya-shaa-o — He pleases (= Chooses, decides, decrees, desires, destines, dictates, mandates, likes, orders, pleases, prefers, rules, selects, wants or wishes)
  • بِغَيۡرِ — Bay-ghai-ray — Without (= Separately the word بِ means with and غَيۡرِ means out of, other or else. The combination means without)
  • حِسَابٍ — Hay-saa-bin — Measure (= n., Adjustment; balance; closure; count; calculation; computation; measurement; reckoning; settlement. Also, accounting, adjusting and balancing all credits and debits of an account to a final figure to close it. Bringing or calling to account)

فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتۡهَا قَالَتۡ رَبِّ اِنِّىۡ وَضَعۡتُهَاۤ اُنۡثٰىؕ وَاللّٰهُ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتۡؕ وَ لَيۡسَ الذَّكَرُ كَالۡاُنۡثٰى‌‌ۚ وَاِنِّىۡ سَمَّيۡتُهَا مَرۡيَمَ وَاِنِّىۡۤ اُعِيۡذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ الشَّيۡطٰنِ الرَّجِيۡمِ‏

 

Fa-lum-maa-wa-dza-ut-haa-qaa-lut                                                                                             Rub-bay-in-nee-wa-dzau-to-haa-oon-thaa                                                                                  Wul-laa-ho-au-la-mo-bay-maa-wa-dza-ut                                                                                      Wa-lai-suz-za-ka-ro-kul-oon-thaa                                                                                                   Wa-in-nee-sum-mai-to-haa-mar-ya-ma                                                                                       Wa-in-nee-o-ee-zo-haa-bay-ka                                                                                                       Wa-zor-re-ya-ta-haa-may-naush-shai-tua-nir-ra-jee-m.

 

Then, when she had delivered her she said,                                                                 “My God, I surely have delivered her as a female.”                                                         And Allah is Well Aware of what she had delivered.                                                      And the male is not like the female.                                                                                    “And I surely have named her Mary.                                                                                    And surely I seek Your protection for her                                                                     And her progeny from the Satan, the discarded.

  • رَبِّ — Rub-bay — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures; Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident.  The Only One Who provides all that sustains life.  The Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
  • اِنِّىۡ — In-nee — Certainly I (= Combination of two words. The first اِن  (in) means  absolutely, clearly, decidedly, doubtlessly, positively, indeed, really, surely, truly or verily. The 2nd word ىۡ is the pronoun for one in 1st person)
  • وَضَعۡتُ — Wa-dza-to — I delivered (= v., past., s., 1st person. Birthed her baby; brought forth. See  وَضَعَتۡ  above)
  • هَا — Haa — Her (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the baby-girl born)
  • اُنۡثٰى — Oon-tha — Female (= Person of feminine gender)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • اَعۡلَمُ — Au-la-mo — Well Aware (= adj., To the nth degree … Aware, experienced, familiar, informed or knowing. Also, when the text indicates, as a v., pres., s., 1st person this word means I know more and best. The Holy Qor-aan used this word as adjective but one author translated it as ‘knew best’ which is a verb in the past tense in 003:037 and inconsistently therewith as ‘knows … best’ as a verb in the present tense in verse 004:026)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= About; entitled to; of; in ref to; relative to; suited for)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — What (= All that; whatever; whatsoever)
  • وَضَعَتۡWa-dza-ut — She delivered  (= v., Birthed her baby; brought forth; delivered; gave birth; had her delivery; pregnancy came to fruition.  The verb used here is وَضَعَتۡ (Wa-dza-ut) that means ‘She had delivered’ and NOT وَضَعۡتُ (Wa-dza-to) that means ‘I have delivered’ as translated by one author)

  • لَيۡسَ — Lai-sa..(uz) — Not (= Absolute denial and negation; never; not at all; nowise; won’t be)

  • الۡاُنۡثٰى — Oon-thaa — The female (= Person of feminine gender; woman)

  • ذُرِّيَّتَ — Zoor-re-ya-ta — Progeny (= Children; descendants; family; future generations; kids; race; offspring. Generally used for male lineal issues)
  • هَا — Haa — Her (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the baby-girl born)
  • مِنَ — May-na..(ush) — From (= From the class, category, count, kind, persons or out of. In this case also all kinds of mischief of Satan)
  • ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنِ  — Shai-taa-n..(ir) — The Satan (= s., Bad, false or evil companion, deity, friend or leader.  Devil; evil-spirited person; polytheists; Satanic ring leader. A/t/a hypocrite; idol-worshiper)
  • الرَّجِيۡمِ — Ra-jee-m — The discarded (= Accursed; banished; ousted; out-cast; rejected; thrown away; worthy of being stoned or stone-worthy.  The Satan has been named along with the adjective  رَّجِيۡم   in this verse as well as in 081:026 and 016:099)

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَن تُغۡنِىَ عَنۡهُمۡ أَمۡوَٲلُهُمۡ وَلَآ أَوۡلَـٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا‌ۖ  وَأُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمۡ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ

 

In-na  ul-la-zee-na  ka-fa-roo                                                                                                                Lun  toogh-nee  un  hoom                                                                                                                Um-waa-lo  hoom  wa  laa  auo-laa-do  hoom                                                                                  May-na  ul-laa-hay  shai-aa                                                                                                                  Wa  o-laa-aiy-ka  hoom  wo-qoo-doon  uun aa-r

 

Certainly, all those who disbelieved                                                                                Are that of no avail to them is                                                                                          Their wealth nor their children                                                                                          From Allah to the least.                                                                                                      And all of them are the fuel of the Fire.

 

The following construction of eighteen (18) words appears in verses 003:011 and 003:117

  • اِنَّ — In-na … (ul) — Certainly — (= Absolutely; definitely; doubtlessly; indeed; positively; really; surely; truly; verily)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — La-zee-na — Those who (= pl., male, in 3rd person. Articles, things or persons)
  • كَفَرُوۡا — Ka-fa-roo — Disbelieved (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Denied, refused or rejected the Faith to believe in Allah, the Holy Qor-aan and Iss-laam and become Moslems. Became heretics, infidels, unbelievers or ungrateful. See the Note 002:007)
  • لَن — Lun — No (= Absolute denial; never; not; not all; total negation)
  • تُغۡنِىَ — Toogh-nay-ya — Avail (= Benefit; help; use; utility. Also, make a person dispense with, take away, take lightly or treat trivially)
  • عَنۡ — Un — From (= About; concerning; regarding; relative to)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid disbelievers)
  • اَمۡوَالُUm-waa-lo — Possessions (= pl., Affluence; assets; gains; goods; moneys; properties resources; riches; substance; valuables; wealth.  For more meanings see the  Note to 002:262)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid disbelievers)

  • شَيۡـًٔ۬ا‌ — Shai-aa — Least (= Anything however little or insignificant. Smallest part   of an article, item, object, material, thing, matter, type, phenomenon. Something or somewhat. In instant case, of any avail to get any benefit or concession)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
  • اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ — Olaa-aiy-ka — All (= Acts, facts, items, persons or things)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid disbelievers) 
  • وَقُودُ — Wa-qoo-do … (on) — Fuel (= Combustible material of any kind such as oil or wood burnt to produce heat or light. Material promoting the combustion of fire)
  • ٱلنَّارِ — Naa-r — The Fire (= Rapid sustained chemical reaction releasing heat and light. Also, a source for light and heat)

مَا نَنۡسَخۡ مِنۡ اٰيَةٍ اَوۡ نُنۡسِهَا نَاۡتِ بِخَيۡرٍ مِّنۡهَآ اَوۡ مِثۡلِهَا ‌ؕ اَلَمۡ تَعۡلَمۡ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ قَدِيۡرٌ

 

Maa-nun-sukh-min-aa-ya-tin-auo-noon-say-haa                                                                    Nau-tay-bay-khai-rin-min-haa-auo-mith-la-haa                                                                       Aa-lum-tau-lum-un-nul-la-ha-alaa-kool-lay-shai-in-qa-dee-r.

 

Any time We cancel any of the signs or obliterate it                                                      We bring one better than that or just like that.                                                                Don’t you know that indeed Allah is in full control of everything.

  • مَا — Maa — Any time (= 1. At such time; when; whenever)
  • نَنۡسَخۡ — Nun-sukh — We cancel  *  (= Abrogate; discard; disown; disregard; forget; remove; renounce; repeal. See our Commentary Abrogation Theory that clergy coined to empower themselves by declaring ‘abrogated’ any part of the Holy Qor-aan they didn’t like by comparing any part they chose to enforce. The rule in this verse is also reiterated in 016:102)
  • مِنۡۢ — Min — Among (= From the class, category, count, person or out of)
  • اٰيَةٍ — Aa-ya-tin — Sign  (= n., s.., 1. Manifestation; message; narrative; revelation; verses. 2. Command; direction; law; order. 3. Evidence corroboration; evidence; lesson; portent; proof. 4. Part, portion; pointer, sign, symbol or token pointing to the truth. 5.Every element to create clear crystal picture leading to an absolute conviction. 6. Argument or indication highlighting the manifest Truth)
  • اَوۡ — Auo — Or (= Alternatively; in substitution)
  • نُنۡسِ — Noon-say — We obliterate (= Abandon; allow to be forgotten; cause to be ignored)
  • هَا — Haa — That (= pro, s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the ‘signs’)
  • نَاۡتِ — Nau-tay — We bring (= Deliver; produce; replace; show; substitute)
  • بِ — Bay —  With (= This word in Arabic literally means with)
  • خَيۡرٍ — Khai-rin–  Better (=1. Appreciable, happy or pleasant acts, deeds, things, Better persons or occasions. 2. Comparatively superior; of Best greater, higher or more value. 3. At apex; best; noblest; on top. 4. Glad tiding; good news. 5. Things get better soon, holding prospects of a better and improved prize)
  • مِنۡۢ — Min — From  (= Among; from the class, category, count kind or out of)
  • هَا — Haa — That (= pro, s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the ‘signs’)
  • اَوۡ — Auo — Or (= Alternate; alternatively)
  • مِثۡلِ — Mith-lay — Just like (= Alike; duplicate; identical; similar; substitute. Exactly of the same kind, quality, look, nature or type)
  • هَا —  Haa — That (= pro, s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the ‘signs’)
  • أ — Aa — Do  (= Question mark like Are? Can? Do? Shell? Will?)
  • لَمۡ — Lum — Not Not (= Never; no, not at all.  Similar question is in next verse)
  • تَعۡلَمۡ — Tau-lum — You know (= Aware; educated; informed)
  • اَنَّ — Un-n..(ul) — Indeed   **   (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; surely; truly; verily)

The Holy Qor-aan has frequently stated the truth in the next five words. See Note 002:021

  • ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah is (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • عَلَى — Alaa —  Of / on (= Above; for; of; on; over; upon)
  • كُلِّ — Kool-lay — Every (= All things without exception; entirely; totally; wholly)
  • شَىۡءٍ — Shai-in — Thing (= Article; being; element; item; phenomenon)
  • قَدِيۡرٌ  — Qa-dee-r — In full control (= superlative form that includes the meanings of ‘fullness and totality of control.‘  Controller.  Has the absolute power to do what He wills.  Master and possessor of all powers)

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوۡمٍ۬ لَّا رَيۡبَ فِيهِ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخۡلِفُ ٱلۡمِيعَادَ

 

Rub-ba-naa-in-na-ka-jaa-may-oon-naa-say                                                                             Lay-yao-min-laa-rai-ba-fee-hay                                                                                                       In-nul-la-ha-laa-yookh-lay-fool-me-aad

 

God of us all, most certainly You are the Assembler of the people                            For the day in it is no doubt.                                                                              Doubtlessly Allah does not break His promise.
