The Holy Qor-aan 002:061
.
وَاِذِ اسۡتَسۡقَىٰ مُوۡسٰى لِقَوۡمِهٖ فَقُلۡنَا اضۡرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الۡحَجَرَؕ فَانۡفَجَرَتۡ مِنۡهُ اثۡنَتَا عَشۡرَةَ عَيۡنًاؕ قَدۡ عَلِمَ کُلُّ اُنَاسٍ مَّشۡرَبَهُمۡؕ کُلُوۡا وَاشۡرَبُوۡا مِنۡ رِّزۡقِ اللّٰهِ وَلَا تَعۡثَوۡا فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ مُفۡسِدِيۡنَ
Wa-aiy-ziss-tus-qaa-moo-saa-lay-qao-may-he
Fa-qool-nudz-rib-bay-asaa-kul-ha-jur
Fun-fa-ja-rut-min-hoos-na-taa-asha-ra-ta-ai-naa
Qud-aa-lay-ma-kool-lo-onaa-sin-mush-ra-ba-hoom
Ko-loo-wush-ra-boo-min-riz-qil-laa-hay
Wa-laa-tau-thao-fil-ur-dzay-moof-say-dee-n.
And recall when Moses sought water for his people.
So we said: “Strike the hillside with your stick.”
So twelve springs of water burst out of it.
All people came to know of their source of water.
Eat and drink from the provisions of Allah.
And do not spread in the world as miscreants.

- مُوۡسٰى — Moo-sa — Moses (= The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah)
- لِ — Lay — For (= For the benefit, purpose or reason; with intent to or object of)
- قَوۡمِ — Qao-may — People (= Addressees; attendees; followers; folks; nation)
- هٖ — Hee — His (= pro., s., m. 3rd person. Refers to Moses)
- فَ — Fa — So (= Consequently; as a result; then; thereafter; therefore)
- قُلۡ — Qool — Said (= v., past., s., Announced; broadcast; conveyed; stated; commanded; directed; elaborated; informed; ordered; instructed; mandated; specified; told)
- نَآ — Na…(udz) — We (= pro, pl., 1st person. Us. Used with God’s name it is the authoritative way a higher-up talks to a subordinate)
- اضۡرِب — Udz-rib — Strike (= 1. Bang; beat; hit; smite. 2. March on; go on; proceed to)
- بّ — Bay — With (= This word in Arabic literally means ‘with’)
- عَصَا — Asaa — Stick (= Cane; rod; staff. Thick branch of a tree used as the support to walk with)
- كَ — Ka…(ul) — our (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You. Refers to Moses)
- الۡحَجَرَ — Ul-ha-jur — Hillside (= Hill; rock; stone; mountain)
- فَ — Fa…(un) — So (= Consequently; as a result; then; thereafter; therefore)
- انۡفَجَرَتۡ — Un-fa-ja-rut — Burst out (= Came out; flowed down; gushed forth; sprang up)
- مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of a class, category, count or. kind. Among, from or out of several persons or things)
- هُ — Ho…(os) — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid hill or rock
- اثۡنَتَا عَشۡرَةَ — Na-taa-asha-ra-ta — Twelve (= Combination of 2 words. اثۡنَتَا (uth-na-taa) means #2 two. The second in a set or sequence عَشۡرَةَ (asha-ra-ta)
means #10. The English equivalent of the two words combined is #12, (twelve which is the sum total of 10 + 2. The number 12 refers to Prophet Jacob’s 12 sons whose families took on their respective names as the founding-fathers of a new tribe on its own) - عَيۡنًا — Ain-aa — Springs (= Bodies of water; fountains; streams)
- قَدۡ — Qud — Surely (= Word laying emphasis. Absolutely; categorically
certainly; definitely, for sure; positively; indeed; surely; specially; specifically; verily; without a doubt) - عَلِمَ – Aa-lay-ma — Came to know (= Became aware; found; knew; were informed)
- کُلُّ — Kool-lo — All (= Altogether; everyone; each one)
- اُنَاسٍ — Onaa-sin(m) — People (= Factions; groups; tribes; nations)
- مَّشۡرَبَ– Mush-ra-ba — Water-source (= The exclusive and personalized spot to get drinking water; spring of water that gushed forth forcefully; place to get water)
- ھُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., in 3rd person. Refers to followers of Moses)
- كُلُوۡا — Ko-loo — Eat (= Consume; feats upon; partake; use; utilize)
- وَ — Wa..(ush) — And (= Conj., Additionally; also; more over. See وَ above)
- اشۡرَبُوۡا — Ush-ra-boo — Drink (= Get water for drinking and irrigation)
- مِنۡ — Min…(r) — From (= Among, from or out of a class, category, count or kind Among, from or out of several persons or things)
- رِّزۡقِ — Riz-qi…(il) — Provisions (= Eatables; consumable necessities to continue life; provisions sustenance. A/t/a worldly assets, food, goods, money, property, resources and wealth)
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Additionally; also; more over. See وَ above)
- لَا — Laa — No, not at all (= Absolute denial; never; not at all; total negation)
- تَعۡثَوۡا — Tau-thao — Spread (= 1. Become widespread; emerge; go forth. 2. Commit
inequities; corrupt; mess up; spoil; ruin. See our Commentary titled as ‘A Prophecy about Mischief’ ) - فِىۡ — F…(il) — In (= Contained in, inside or amidst an event, time, period, place, thing or situation. See Note under 002:028)
- الۡاَرۡضِ — Ul-ur-dzay — The earth (= 1. Area; country; earth; ground; land; territory. 2. Life on earth, nation; people or society in general)
- مُفۡسِدِيۡنَ — Moof-say-dee-n — Miscreants (= 1. Bad; corrupt; corruption creators; disrupters; disruption developers; evil; law breakers; mischief-makers; mischief mongers; mischievous; spreaders of; the evil; wicked. 2. Creating law and order situations; causing, committing, creating, multiplying, spreading corruption, disorder and evil)
