The Holy Qor-aan 007:117
قَالَ أَلۡقُواْۖ فَلَمَّآ أَلۡقَوۡاْ سَحَرُوٓاْ أَعۡيُنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱسۡتَرۡهَبُوهُمۡ وَجَآءُو بِسِحۡرٍ عَظِيمٍ۬
Qaa-la aul-qoo fa laum-maa aul-qao
Sa-ha-roo au-yo-naun na-say
Wa aus-taur-ha-boo hoom
Wa jaa-oo bay saih-rin aa-zee-m
He said, “you place your spell. So when they placed,
They bewitched the eyes of the people.
And they scared them.”
And they had come with a great magic.
- قَا لَ — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person. Announced; called; conveyed; countered; declared; stated or told. See 002:031. A/t/a, ‘He said,’ ‘He [Musa (Moses)] said,’ ‘Said Moses,’ ‘(Moses) said,’ ‘He answered’ and ‘He replied’)
- أَلۡقُواْ — Aul-qoo — You place (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Cast; deliver; drop; hurl; place; present; put down; throw. A/t/a, ‘Throw ye (first),’ ‘Throw you (first),’ ‘Throw ye,’ ‘throw,’ ‘throw down yours,’ ‘cast,’ ‘you cast,’ ‘you make your cast’ and ‘You may present (first, what you have)’
- فَ — Fa — So (= After all this; as a result; at the end; consequently; hence; in conclusion; resultantly; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus; yet. A/t/a, ‘And’ and ‘so’)
- لَمَّا — Laum-maa — Surely when (= This combines two words. First word لَ (=la) means absolutely, certainly, positively, surely, truly or verily. The second word ما (= maa) means any time, at such time, when and whenever. See Note 004:067. A/t/a, ‘when’)
- أَلۡقَوۡاْ — Aul-qao — They placed (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Cast; delivered. See أَلۡقُواْ above as that word for the present tense in 2nd person differs from this word for the past tense in 3rd person. A/t/a, ‘they cast,’ ‘they made their cast,’ ‘they threw’ and ‘they presented (their devices).’ But ‘Throw you (first)’ in the present tense in 2nd person has not translated the Holy Qor-aan text with a past tense in 3rd person)
- سَحَرُوٓاْ — Sa-ha-roo — They bewitched (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Bemused; bewildered; dazed; captivated; confused; puzzled; surprisingly impressed. A/t/a, ‘they bewitched,’ ‘they cast a spell,’ ‘they deceived,’ ‘they enchanted’ and ‘magicians threw down their staffs’)
- أَعۡيُنَ — Au-yo-na … (un) — Eyes (= n., pl., The part of the body used for seeing)
- ٱلنَّاسِ — Naa-say — The people (= n., Factions; folks, mankind, groups of men, nations or tribes. Human beings. A/t/a, ‘of the people’ and ‘the people’s’)
- وَ — Wa … (us) — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; but; moreover; though; when; whereupon; while; yet)
- ٱسۡتَرۡهَبُو — Aus-taur-ha-boo — They scared (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Jolted. Scared. Startled. Turned highly respectful like it was a divine spectacle. A/t/a, ‘sought to strike awe into,’ ‘struck Terror into,’ ‘they struck … with awe,’ ‘over awed,’ ‘overawed,’ ‘frightened’ and ‘terrified’)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. They; them; those; theirs)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above. A/t/a, ‘For’)
- جَآءُو — Jaa-oo — They had come (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Arrived; came; reached; returned. Also, the word can mean achieved, brought, delivered, settled, sought or succeeded. A/t/a, ‘they showed,’ ‘they produced,’ ‘they displayed,’ ‘brought forth,’ ‘they came’ and ‘perpetrated’)
- بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word means with. A/t/a, ‘with’ and ‘by’)
- سِحۡرٍ — Saih-rin — Magic (= n., Deception; enchantment; evil crafts; falsehood; false impression; illusion; mode of intrigue; sorcery; trickery unreal thing; untruth; witchcraft. A/t/a, ‘magic,’ ‘enchantment,’ ‘spell,’ ‘illusion’ and ‘display’)
