The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                007:076

 

قَالَ الۡمَلَاُ الَّذِيۡنَ اسۡتَكۡبَرُوۡا مِنۡ قَوۡمِهٖ لِلَّذِيۡنَ اسۡتُضۡعِفُوۡا لِمَنۡ اٰمَنَ مِنۡهُمۡ اَتَعۡلَمُوۡنَ اَنَّ صٰلِحًا مُّرۡسَلٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّهٖ‌ؕ قَالُـوۡۤا اِنَّا بِمَاۤ اُرۡسِلَ بِهٖ مُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ

Qaa-la  ul-ma-la-o  la-ze-na  us-tauk-ba-roo  min  qao-may  he
Lay  il-la-ze-na  us-toodz-aiy-foo
Lay  maun  aa-ma-na  min  hoom
Aa  tau-la-moo-na  un-na  saa-lay-haun
Moor-say-loon  min  raub-bay  he
Qaa-loo  i
n-naa  bay-maa  oor-say-la  bay  he  moe-may-oo-n

 

Said the leaders of those who acted arrogantly from among his people
For those considered weak —
For they had believed —
“Do you know that Saaleh was
A Messenger from his God.”
They said,
“We surely are Believers with which he was sent.”

 

Next seven (7) words are repeated in four (4) verses except for
كَفَرُوۡا in 007:067 & 007:091 and اسۡتَكۡبَرُوۡا in 007:076 & 007:089

  •  قَا لَ — Qaa-la … (ul) — Said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Announced; broadcast;   called; conveyed; declared; specified; told. A/t/a,                                                                ‘asked.’ See 002:031)
  • الۡمَلَاُ — Ma-la-o — The leaders (= n., pl., Bosses; chiefs; family-heads; gurus; heroes; generals; people in the forefront. A/t/a, ‘leading men,’ ‘chiefs,’ ‘chieftains,’ ‘elders’ and ‘chief men)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ Ul-la-ze-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those articles, persons, or phenomenon or things in masculine gender. A/t/a, ‘who’)
  • اسۡتَكۡبَرُوۡا — Aus-tauk-ba-roo — Acted arrogantly (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Acted arrogantly. Behaved boastfully. Bragged haughtily. Deemed himself too big and proud. Pride-stricken. Puffed with pride. Scorned. Smug or smitten with complex. Took pride. Egotist and vanity rich. A/t/a, ‘arrogant party,’ ‘the arrogant,’ ‘were arrogant,’ ‘were  haughty,’ ‘the haughty,’ ‘were scornful,’ ‘considered themselves strong and great’ and ‘behaved proudly’)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several. A/t/a, ‘among’ and ‘of’)  
  • قَوۡمِ — Qao-may –People  (= n., s., Addressees; attendees; fellows; followers; folks; nation; party; people;  tribe)
  • هٖ — He  — His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid person)
  • لِ – Lay … (il) — For / To (= For the object, person, purpose or reason of; intended for; meant for; concerning; regarding; relative to; to; towards. A/t/a, ‘to’)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — (I)l-la-ze-na … (us) — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those articles, persons, or phenomenon or things in masculine gender)
  • اسۡتُضۡعِفُوۡا — Aus-toodz-aiy-foo — Were weak (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Poor. Underprivileged. Collectively, economically and socially … not strong or powerful but feeble, fragile, frail, puny or scrawny. A/t/a, ‘were reckoned weak,’ ‘were counted weak,’ ‘were considered weak,’ ‘were weak,’ ‘were reckoned powerless,’ ‘whom they despised’ and ‘they oppressed’)
  • لِ — Lay — For / To (= For the object, person, purpose; since. See لِ above. A/t/a, ‘to,’ ‘and’ and ‘unto’)
  • مَنۡ — Maun — Who (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whoso)
  • اٰمَنَ — Aa-ma-na — Believed (= v., past., s., 3rd person., Believed in the Holy Qor-aan,    became Moslems and entered in the Faith of Iss-laam. A/t/a, ‘had believed’ and ‘as believed.’ But the noun as in ’believers’ has not translated the verb in the Holy Qor-aan text)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among. See مِنۡ  above. A/t/a, ‘such of’)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men. Refers to the followers of Prophet Saleh)
  • اَ — Aa — Do (= Word asking a question like are, can, could, do, did, have; had, shell, should, will, would, what, etc. A/t/a, ‘Are’)
  • تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ — Tau-la-moon — You know (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Aware. Coach. Help to know. Instruct. Teach; Train. Tutor. A/t/a, ‘know ye,’ know you,’ ’know for certain,’  ‘you sure’ and ‘really believe’)
  • اَ نَّ — Aun-na — That (= That. A/t/a, ‘indeed’)
  • صٰلِحًا — Saa-lay-haun — Saaleh (= n., The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah)
  • مُّرۡسَلٌ  — Moor-sa-loon — Messenger (= pl., s., Apostle; God’s messenger; prophet; sage; saint. A/t/a, ‘one sent,’ ‘is sent,’ ‘sent forth’ and ‘apostle’)
  • مِّنۡ  — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several)
  • رَّبِّ — Raub-bay — GOD / LORD (= The Almighty Allah who fills all needs of all creatures. Cherisher. Creator. Guardian. Lord Provident. Master. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist. See 001:002)
  • هٖ — He — His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid Prophet Saleh)
  • قَا لُوۡا — Qaa-loo — They said (= v., past., pl., 3rdperson: All those men announced,            called, declared or told. See  قَا لَ above. A/t/a, ‘They answered,’ replied and responded)
  • اِنَّا — In-naa — Surely we (= Combines two words. اِنَّ  means ‘certainly, definitely, surely or verily. And  نَآ  means all of us. Joined together the word  اِنَّا  (in-naa) combines both meanings. A/t/a, ‘surely we,’ ‘We surely,’ ‘we do indeed,’ ‘we indeed,’ ‘Lo!’ and ‘We’ )
  • بِمَا — Bay-maa — With which (= Combination of two words. بِ  means ‘with’ and مَاۤ  means ‘all that, whatever, whatsoever or whenever.’ See 002:092. A/t/a, ‘with which,’ ‘the teachings with which,’ ‘that wherewith,’ ‘in the revelation which,’ ‘in that,’ ‘in that with which,’ ‘In that wherewith’ and ‘in’)
  • اُرۡسِلَ — Oor-say-la — He was sent (= v., past., pass., s., 3rd person. Arrived. Delivered.  Deputed. Dispatched. Trusted. A//t/a, ‘hath been sent,’ ‘has been sent’ and ‘the message … he has been sent’)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with. A/t/a, ‘through’ and ‘in’)
  • هٖ –He — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Messenger Saleh)
  • مُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ — Moe-may-noon — Believers (= n,. pl., Adherents of Islam; those who enter the Faith, believe and follow the Holy Qor-aan, the Iss-laam and become Moslems. Men of faith. The faithful. A/t/a, ‘believers.’ But the verb as in ‘we believe’ is no translation of the noun used in the Holy Qor-aan text)
