The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                     007:101

 

اَوَلَمۡ يَهۡدِ لِلَّذِيۡنَ يَرِثُوۡنَ الۡاَرۡضَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ اَهۡلِهَاۤ اَنۡ لَّوۡ نَشَآءُ اَصَبۡنٰهُمۡ بِذُنُوۡبِهِمۡ‌ ۚ وَنَطۡبَعُ عَلٰى قُلُوۡبِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُوۡنَ‏

 

Aa  wa  laum  yah-day  lay  il-ze-na  ya-ray-thoo-na
Aul-aur-dza  min  bau day  ah-lay  haa
Aun  lao  na-shaa-o  aa-saub-naa  hoom  bay  dzo-noo-bay  him
Wa  naut-ba-o  aa-laa  qo-loo-bay  him  fa  hoom  laa  yaus-ma-oon 

 

And does it not guide those who inherit
The earth after its owners perished
That if We chose We could have struck them for their sins
And We seal their hearts so they never hear.

 

  • اَ — Aa — Does (= Word asking a question like are, can, could, do, did, have; had, shell, should, will, would, what, etc. A/t/a, ‘Is it’ and Does it’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; but; moreover; though; when; whereupon; while;  yet)
  • لَمۡ — Laum — Not (= Absolutely never; no, not at all)
  • يَهۡدِ — Yah-day — Guides (= v., pres., m., s., 3rd person. He directs the best way; gives good guidance; provides opportunities with appropriate directions; leads on level linier lines; puts on proper path. Shows sure success. Also, voids evil to enable man to reach his noble aims, goals and objects. A/t/a, ‘afford guidance,’ ‘serve as guidance,’  ‘instruct,’ ‘lead … to realize’ and ‘clear.’ But the nouns in ‘a guiding lesson,’ ‘a lesson,’  ‘an indication’ and ‘plain’ have not translated the Holy Qor-aan text with a verb)
  • لِّ —  Lay — For (= For the benefit, object, person, purpose or reason of; intended for; meant for; concerning; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, ‘to’)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Aul-la-ze-na — Those who (= pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to those articles, persons or phenomenon or things in masculine gender)
  • يَرِثُوۡنَ — Ya-ray-thoo-na … (ul) — They Inherit (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Become the masters or owners. Command. Inherit. Rule. Succeed. A/t/a,  ‘inherit.’ But the past tense in ‘have inherited’ or noun as in ‘the present generation’ is no translation of the Holy Qor-aan text in the present tense)
  • الۡاَرۡضَ — Aul-ur-dza — The Earth (= n., Area; country; earth; ground; land; soil; territory. Also life on earth, nation; people or society in general. See Note 002:028a. A/t/a, ‘the earth’ and ‘the land’)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • بَعۡدِ — Bau-day — After (= Afterwards; subsequent to; succeeding. A/t/a, ‘after’ and ‘in succession’)
  • اَهۡلِ — Ah-lay — Owners (= n., Here the word relates to earth or land, so it mean as follows: Dwellers. Inhabitants. Masters. Natives.  Occupants. Owners. People. Populaces. Population.  Residents. See Note 002:197. A/t/a, ‘(former) residents,’ ‘former inhabitants,’ ‘former people,’ ‘(previous) occupants,’ ‘people (who thus reaped the consequence of evil-doing),’ ‘its (previous) possessors’ and ‘those who inhabited’)
  • هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to the earth or land. A/t/a, ‘it’ and ‘its’)
  • اَنۡ — Aun — That (= So that. The fact is that. A/t/a, ‘that’])
  • لَوۡ — Lao — If (= In case; under the circumstances; wish; would. A/t/a, ‘had’)
  • نَشَآءُ — Na-shaa-o — We chose (= v., pres., pl., 1st person. Allow; approve; chose; decide;  decree; design; determine; dictate; elect; enforce; like; permit; plan; please; prefer; select; sanction; will. The meanings ‘desired, wanted or wished’ do not apply  relative to the Almighty God Who has all control, power and will to implement instantly what He intends. A/t/a, ‘We please’ and ‘We will.  But the past tense in ‘We so willed,’ ‘We     willed’ and ’We pleased’ is no translation of the Holy Qor-aan text with the verb)
  • اَصَبۡنٰ — Aa-saub-naa — We struck (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Affected; overtook; punished; reached;  smut; struck. The past tense verb for single 3rd person is converted into that of plural 1st person as explained in Note 001:007. A/t/a, ‘We could punish,’  ‘We would afflict,’ ‘We could’ and ‘We would have punished.’ But ‘We can smite’ and ‘We can afflict … (with some punishment) in the present tense is no translation of the past tense in the Holy Qor-aan text)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ means with. A/t/a, ‘for’ and because of’)
  •  ذُنُوۡبِ — Zo-noo-bay — Sins (= n., pl of s., ذُنب . Bad and culpable acts; inappropriate  conduct; crimes; errors; faults; illegal acts; misdeeds; intended offences; wrongs.)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses. See  وَ   above)
  • نَطۡبَعُ — Naut-ba-o — We put seal (= v.., pres., pl., 1st person. Close, condemn; cover; doom; secure. A/t/a, ‘seal up,’ ‘seal,’ ‘put a seal,’ ‘print,’ ‘set seals’ and ‘set a seal’)
  • عَلٰى — Aa-laa — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon )
  • قُلُوۡبِ — Qo-loo-bay — Hearts (= n., pl., Refers to the ability to think, choose, decide and  act in an appropriate manner physically and spiritually. Mind. Inner soul. Understanding. Physically the central organ inside the chest of all living creatures that keeps  up the supply of blood to every tissue by pumping blood constantly through veins and controls the body parts and directs all their functions)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • فَ  — Fa — Then (= After all this; as a result; at the end; consequently; hence yet; in conclusion; resultantly; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus. A/t/a, ‘so that’ and ‘so’)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • لَا — Laa — Never (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute denial and total negation without exception. A/t/a, ‘not’)
  • يَسۡمَعُوۡنَ‏ — Yaus-ma-oon — They hear (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Refers to a sound that is heard. They give an ear, heed, listen, pay attention or respond. A/t/a, ‘lend ear to words of guidance,’ ‘listen to  words of guidance.’ ‘they hear …,’ ‘be able to listen (to some guiding advice)’ and ‘leaving … bereft of hearing.’  But the past tense as in ‘they could … hear,’ ‘they would … hear’ and ‘should … hear’ is no translation of the Holy Qor-aan text in the present tense)
