The Holy Qor-aan 007:089
قَالَ الۡمَلَاُ الَّذِيۡنَ اسۡتَكۡبَرُوۡا مِنۡ قَوۡمِهٖ لَـنُخۡرِجَنَّكَ يٰشُعَيۡبُ وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مَعَكَ مِنۡ قَرۡيَتِنَاۤ اَوۡ لَـتَعُوۡدُنَّ فِىۡ مِلَّتِنَا ؕ قَالَ اَوَلَوۡ كُنَّا كَارِهِيۡنَ
Qaa-la ul-ma-la-o la-ze-na
Aus-tauk-ba-roo min qao-may he
La nookh-ray-jaun-na ka yaa Sho-ai-bo
Wa aul-la-ze-na ma-aa ka min qaur-ya-tay naa
Auo la ta-oo-doon-na fee mil-la-tay naa
Qaa-la aa wa lao koon-naa kaa-ray-hee-n
Said the leaders of those who
Sought to be great with arrogance from among his people,
“We will expel you, O Shoaib
And those who believed along with you from our town
Or you all revert to our religion.”
He said, “And what if we have been repelling that?”
Next seven (7) words are repeated in four (4) verses except for
كَفَرُوۡا in 007:067 & 007:091 and اسۡتَكۡبَرُوۡا in 007:076 & 007:089

- ٱلَّذِينَ — Aul-la-ze-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those articles, persons, or phenomenon or things in masculine gender. A/t/a, ‘who’ and ‘of those who’)
- اسۡتَكۡبَرُوۡا — Aus-tauk-ba-roo — Sought to be great with arrogance (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Acted with arrogance. Behaved boastfully. Bragged haughtily. Considered themselves to be great and were very proud of that. Pride-stricken. Puffed with pride. Scorned. Smug or smitten with complex. Took pride. Were egotist or vanity rich. A/t/a, ‘behaved proudly’ and ‘considered themselves strong and great.’ But the noun/adj as in ‘the arrogant party,’ ‘arrogant,’ ‘who were arrogant’ and ‘haughty’ has not translated the Holy Qor-aan text that has a verb in it)

The 1st word كُنۡ conveys the continuation from the past to the present and leading into the future. The 2nd word نَآ means ‘all of us.’ Jointly the two words mean ‘we had been’, ‘we ‘used to.’ A/t/a, ‘we’ and ‘we should?’)
- كَارِهِيۡنَ — Kaa-ray-hee-n — Repelling (= adj., Disgustful. Disgusting. Foul. Haters. Hideous. Loathsome. Nauseating. Repelling. Repugnant. Repulsive. Revolting. Vile. Yucky.
