اَلَمۡ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذِيۡنَ يَزۡعُمُوۡنَ اَنَّهُمۡ اٰمَنُوۡا بِمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ اِلَيۡكَ وَمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكَ   يُرِيۡدُوۡنَ اَنۡ يَّتَحَاكَمُوۡۤا اِلَى الطَّاغُوۡتِ وَقَدۡ اُمِرُوۡۤا اَنۡ يَّكۡفُرُوۡا بِهٖ ؕ  وَيُرِيۡدُ الشَّيۡـطٰنُ اَنۡ يُّضِلَّهُمۡ ضَلٰلًاۢ بَعِيۡدًا‏

 

Aa  laum  ta-ra  aiy-la  ul-la-ze-na  yauz-o-moo-na
Aun-na  hoom  aa-ma-noo  bay-maa  oon-zay-la
Aiy-lai  ka  wa  maa  oon-zay-la  min  qaub-lay  ka

Yo-re-do-na  aun  ya-ta-haa-ka-moo  aiy-la  ut-taa-ghoo-tay
Wa  qaud  o-may-roo  aun  yauk-fo-roo  bay  he

Wa  yo-re-do  osh-shai-ta-no  aun
Yo-dzil-la  hoom  dza-laa-laun  ba-ee-daa

 

Have you not looked at those who claim
That they believed in all that was entrusted
To you and all that was entrusted to those before you?

They intend that they refer the decision-making to the Devil
And they were ordered that they reject him.

And the Satan intends that
He leads them astray, straying far away.

 

Phrase Aa-laum-ta-ra-aiy-laa … meaning Have you not looked at ….

  • أَ — Aa — Have (= Word asking a question like are, can, could, do, did, have, had, shell, should, will, would, what, etc.)
  • لَمۡ — Laum — Not (= Absolutely never; no; not at all; nothing)
  • تَرَ — Ta-ra — You looked (= v., past., pl., 2nd person.  Looked; observed; pondered;  seen; viewed; watched; witnessed. See Note 002:244a. A/t/a, ‘thou … turned thy vision,’ ‘Hast thou … seen,’ ‘Dost thou not know’ and ‘Knowest thou not’)
  • اِلٰٓى — Aiy-la … (ul) — At (= In the direction of; to; towards. In some situations, this   word can also mean for, till or until. A/t/a, ‘the case of’)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Aul-la-ze-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those in masculine gender that include all articles, things, persons or phenomenon. A/t/a, ‘those (hypocrites)’
  • يَزۡعُمُوۡنَ — Yauz-o-moo-na — They claim (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Affirm. Assert. Assume. Claim. Conjecture. Consider. Declare. Deem. Fancy. Imagine. Insist. Make out. Persist. Presume. Pretend. Proclaim. Profess. Pronounce. Put forward. Set up. Think. A/t/a, ‘assert,’ ‘claim,’ ‘declare,’ ‘pretend’ and ‘profess’)
  • اَ نَّ — Aun-na — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. They; them; theirs)
  • اٰمَنُوۡا — Aa-ma-noo — They believed (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Believed in the Holy  Qor-aan. Became Moslems. Accepted Iss-laam. Admitted to be Moslems. A/t/a, ‘they believe’ but that present tense is no translation of the Holy Qor-aan text in the past tense)

   The construction in next ten (10) words is in 002:005, 004:061 and 004:163

  • بِمَا — Bay-maa — In all that (= Combination of two words. بِ  means ‘with / in’ and مَاۤ  means ‘all that, whatever, whatsoever or whenever.’ The combination  بِمَا  (bay-maa) means ‘because of; due to; for the reason that; in all that; on account of; owing \to, with all that. See 002:092.  A/t/a, ‘In the revelations’)
  • اُنۡزِلَ — Oon-zay-la — Was entrusted (= v., past., pass., s, 3rd person. Dispatched, given, granted, handed down, inspired, laid, lowered, revealed or sent down. Also, delivered; landed; provided; released; supplied.  See Note 002:005a.  A/t/a, ‘sent down’ and ‘have come’)
  • اِلَيۡ — Aiy-lai — To (= In the direction of; towards. A/t/a, ‘unto’)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= You. The addressee was the Holy Prophet s.a.w. See 002:005. A/t/a, ‘thee’)
  • وَ –Wa — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses; also; but; additionally; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever)
  • اُنۡزِلَ — Oon-zay-la — Was entrusted (= v., past., pass., s, 3rd person. Dispatched, given, granted, inspired, revealed or sent down. See   اُنۡزِلَ  above)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • قَبۡلِ — Qaub-lay — Before (= Earlier, former, older, past or prior times. Ref is to the prior apostles, messengers, prophets, sages and saints)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= You. See   كَ  above)
  • يُرِيۡدُوۡنَ — Yo-re-do-na — They intend (= v., pres., 3rd person. Those with a distinct possibility to  fail in implementing their planned goal, best translation of this word includes aim, aspire, choose, conform, covet, crave, desire, do best, go after, hanker, like, long, plan, pursue, scheme, seek, wish, want or yearn.  See Note 002:186. A/t/a, ‘They desire,’ ‘on the contrary they desire’ and ‘they wish’)
  • اَنۡ — Aun … (ya) — That (= So that; the fact is that)
  • يَّتَحَاكَمُوۡۤا  — Ya-ta-haa-ka-moo — Refer decision-making (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Aspire, desire, go after, implore, like, long, plan, pursue, scheme, seek, try, want or wish for adjudication, decision-making, fair resolution or judgment. A/t/a, ‘To resort together for judgment (In their disputes),’ ‘seek judgment,’ ‘seek the judgment,’ ‘go for judgment (in their disputes),’ ‘turn for judgment between them’ and ‘refer (their disputes) for judgment’)
  • اِلَى — Aiy-la … (ut) — To (= In the direction of; to; towards)
  • لطَّاغُوۡتِ — Taa-ghoo-tay — The devil (= n., Bad or evil leader or person. Devils. Evil. Satan. Worshipers of idols. A/t/a ‘The Evil One,’ ‘the devil,’ ‘the rebellious,’ ‘transgressor,’ ‘Taghut (false judges),’ ‘deities’ and ‘false gods’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • قَدۡ — Qaud — Surely (= This word lays emphasis. See  our Commentary titled as 2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect.  A/t/a, ‘though,’ ‘although’ and ‘have been’)
  • اُمِرُوۡۤا — O-may-roo — They were commanded (= v., past., pass., pl., 3rd person. Bidden;   commanded; directed; enjoined; exhorted; instructed; mandated. ordered. A/t/a, ‘commanded.’ But ‘are bidden’ in the present tense is not what the Holy Qor-aan text has stated in the past tense)
  • اَنۡ — Aun — That (= So that; the fact is that)
  • يَّكۡفُرُوۡا — Yauk-fo-roo — They reject (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Disbelieve; deny; disclaim; disown; refuse. A/t/a, ‘refuse.’ But ‘to abjure,’ ‘to reject,’ ‘to disbelieve’ and ‘not to obey’ are no translations of the Holy Qor-aan text with a verb in the present tense)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with)
  • هٖ — He — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. He or his. Refers to the Satan. A/t/a, ‘them’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • يُرِيۡدُ — Yo-re-do … (sh) — He intends (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Satan or devil with the perpetual pursuit to harm man by misleading him into disobeying his Creator, the best translation of this word includes aim, aspire, determined, intend, pursue and shoot for.  See Note 002:186. A/t/a ‘wish,’ ‘desires,’ ‘would’ and ‘wishes’)
  • الشَّيۡـطٰنُ – Shai-taa-no — The Satan (= n., s., A bad, evil or false deity, friend, leader or Satanic companion. The devil. The Evil Embodiment. The evil One. The evil spirited person. The evil personified. Polytheist. Rebellious ringleader. Also, a hypocrite)
  • اَنۡ — Aun — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily)
  • يُّضِلّ — Yo-dzil-la — Leads astray (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Leading another to blunder, err, fail, get lost, go astray, put on improper path or take wrong direction, road or turn. A/t/a, ‘lead’ and ‘mislead’)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m.,, 3rd person. Them; their)
  • ضَلٰلًاۢ — Dza-laa-laun — Straying (= n., Blunder; failure; fault; impropriety; inaccuracy; inappropriate direction; miscalculation; misguidance; mistake; straying; wrong road.  A/t/a, ‘astray’ and ‘straying’)

○ ‏مُتَّكِــِٕيۡنَ عَلٰى رَفۡرَفٍ خُضۡرٍ وَّعَبۡقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍ‌ ۚ ○‏  فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏○  تَبٰـرَكَ اسۡمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى الۡجَـلٰلِ وَالۡاِكۡرَامِ

 

  1. Moot-ta-kay-ee-na-slaa-ruf-ra-rin-khooz-rin-wa-ub-qa-re-yin-he-saa-n
  2. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n
  3. Ta-baa-ra-kus-mo-rub-bay-ka-zil-ja-laa-lay-wul-ik-raa-m

 

  1. Reclining on green cushions and beautiful thick carpets
  2. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny

مُتَّكِــِٕيۡنَ عَلٰى رَفۡرَفٍ خُضۡرٍ وَّعَبۡقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍ ۚ ○‏ 

Moot-ta-kay-ee-na-slaa-ruf-ra-rin-khooz-rin-wa-ub-qa-re-yin-he-saan

Reclining on green cushions and beautiful thick carpets                                  

  • مُتَّكِـــِٕيۡنَ — Moot-ta-kay-ee-na — Reclining (= n. Those sitting in the half up-right position in relaxing postures; reclining. A/t/a, ‘They will recline,’ (The owners of Paradise will be) reclining’ and ‘they shall recline’ is a translation as a verb of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a noun)
  • عَلٰى — Alaa — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon)
  • رَفۡرَفٍ — Ruf-ra-fin — Cushions (= n., Small square pillows with fillings of fluffy cotton, downs or wool)
  • خُضۡرٍ — Khooz-rin — Green (= Catching, pleasing and soothing eyes with green color)
  • وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; instead; more over; rather; though; when; yet; whereupon; while)
  • عَبۡقَرِىٍّ — Ub-qa-ree-yin — Thick carpets (= n., Thick mats; spreads made of mostly wool used to cover floors or ground for beauty, comfort and warmth; floor-mats crafted, knit and woven generally by hands but since the Industrialization also by machines. A/t/a,  ‘carpets,’ ‘rich carpet,’ ‘fine rich carpets’ and ‘mattresses’)
  • حِسَانٌ — Hay-saa-n — Beautiful (= adj., Excellent. A/t/a, ‘beautiful,’ ‘rich beautiful,’ ‘of beauty,’ ‘of lovely beauty’ and ‘fair’)

○ فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏

Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n

So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny

  • فَ — Fa — So (= Hence; then; thus; at the end; in conclusion; in the final analysis; consequently; finally; resultantly; therefore)

  • كُمَا — Ko-maa — You two (= pro., 2pl., m., 2nd person. You both or twain. You two  bands, bunches, cliques, cults or groups.. Reference is to the bodies of men and jinn. A/t/a, ‘your’ [several authors], ‘you twain (jinn and men)’ and ‘you twain (believers and disbelievers)’)
  • تُكَذِّبٰنِ — To-kuz-zay-baa-n — You both can deny (= v., 2pl., 2nd person. Belie; contradict; decline; disagree; disapprove; discredit; disprove; rebuff; refuse; turn down. A/t/a, ‘will ye deny,’ ‘will you deny,’ ‘ye twain, O men and jinn, deny,’ ‘will you twain deny, O men and Jinn,’ ‘will you both (jinn and men) deny,’ ‘would you deny’ and ‘that ye deny’)

Blessings on the name of your God Lord of Majesty and Grandeur

  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male)
  • ذِى — Zay .. (il) — Lord of (= Controller; Lord; Master; owner; possessor. A/t/a, ‘Master’ and ‘the owner’)
  • الۡجَـلٰلِ — Ja-laa-lay — Grandeur (= n., Awe; Mighty; Majestic; Majesty. A/t/a, ‘full of Majesty’ and ‘Glory’)

فِيۡهِنَّ خَيۡرٰتٌ حِسَانٌ‌ ۚ‏‏ ○   فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ ۚ‏ ○  حُوۡرٌ مَّقۡصُوۡرٰتٌ فِى الۡخِيَامِ ۚ ‏ ○  ‌فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ ۚ‏ ‏ ○ لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ اِنۡسٌ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنٌّ‌ ۚ‏ ‏ ○  فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‌‏ ○ ۚ‏  

 

  1. Fe-hin-na-khai-raa-toon-hay-saa-n
  2. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n
  3. Hoo-roon-muq-soo-raa-toon-fil-khay-yaa-m
  4. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n
  5. Lum-yut-mith-hoon-na-in-soon-qub-la-hoom-wa-laa-jaa-n

  3. Modest companions inside the tents
  4. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny
  5. Never before any Man or Jinn touching them
  6. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny

‏ فِيۡهِنَّ خَيۡرٰتٌ حِسَانٌ ۚ‏ ○‏  

Fe-hin-na-khai-raa-toon-hay-saa-n

In them are the best and beautiful companions

  • فِىۡ — Fee — In  (= Amidst, among, contained or inside)
  • هِنَّ — Hin-na — Them (= pro., pl., f., in 3rd person. Refers to all aforesaid four  Gardens – two mentioned in the verse 055:047 and another two mentioned  in the verse 055:063. A/t/a, ‘Wherein (are found)’and ‘wherein are found’)
  • خَيۡرٰتٌ — Khai-raa-toon — The best (= n., f., pl., Literally ‘the best’ which is akin to saying ‘the better-half’ used for a wife or spouse. Also, associates,  companions; partners. A/t/a, ‘Fair (Companions),’ ‘maidens, good,’ ‘women,’ ‘(maidens) pious,’ ‘fair wives,’ ‘virgins chaste,’ ‘godly’ and ‘good’)
  • حِسَانٌ — Hay-saa-n — Beautiful (= adj., Excellent. A/t/a, ‘beautiful ones,’ ‘good,  beautiful,’ ‘good and beautiful,’ ‘beautiful’ and ‘fair’)

Modest companions inside the tents

  • حُوۡرٌ — Hoo-roon — Companions (= n., Beautiful spouses, associates, partners. A/t/a, ‘pure ones,’ ‘Pure and chaste houris,’ ‘Fair ones,’ ‘Fair maidens with lovely black eyes,’ ‘black-eyed,’ ‘dark-eyed virgins,’ ‘beautiful fair females’ and ‘Houris’)
  • ]مَّقۡصُوۡرٰتٌ — Muq-soo-raa-toon — Modest (= n., pl., Beautiful. Females who are modest by limiting, restraining and restricting their eyes from roving all around with lusty looks of perverts. A/t/a, ‘restrained (as to Their glances),’ ‘confined,’ ‘guarded in,’ ‘guarded,’ ‘close-guarded’ and ‘sheltered’)
  • فِى — F…(il) — Inside (= Amidst, among, contained or inside. See  فِىۡ  above)
  • الۡخِيَامِ‌ — (I)l-khay-yaa-m The tents (= n., pl., Covered pavilions; areas protected from the  scorching heat of the desert sun; shaded places. A/t/a, ‘pavilions,’ ‘cool pavilions,’  ‘(goodly) pavilions,’ ‘(their goodly) pavilions (enjoying the shade of God’s mercy),’  ‘well-guarded pavilions’ and ‘their tents’)

 لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ اِنۡسٌ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنٌّ ‌ ۚ○‏

 Lum-yut-mith-hoon-na-in-soon-qub-la-hoom-wa-laa-jaa-n

Never before any Man or Jinn touching them

    The following words are also in verse 055:057

  • لَمۡ — Lum — Not (= Absolutely never; no, not at all)
  • يَطۡمِثۡ — Yut-mith — Touching (= v., pres., m., 3rd person. Affecting; embracing; hugging impacting; influencing; involving; shaping; A/t/a, ‘will have touched,’ ‘touched’ and ‘untouched’ are translations as verbs in the past tense of what the Holy Qor-aan has described as a verb in the present tense)

Singly the word means anything of feminine gender that checks, controls or confines itself from wandering all around. A/t/a, ‘those restraining,’ ‘those of modest gaze,’ ‘(Maidens) chaste, restraining their glances,’ ‘chaste maidens restraining their,’ ‘chaste  maidens’ [mzk], ‘chaste maidens of modest gaze,’ ‘(chaste and modest) maidens restraining their glances (to look at them only) whom (in this state),’ ‘chaste females (wives) restraining their glances, desiring none  except their husbands’ and ‘bashful virgins’)
  • الطَّرۡفِۙ — Tur-fay — Eye-sight (= n., Eyes; gazes; looks. A/t/a, ‘modest gaze’ and ‘glances’

The Holy Qor-aan       055:051

○ ۚ فِيۡهِمَا عَيۡنٰنِ تَجۡرِيٰنِ 

Fee-hay-maa-aiy-naa-nay-tuj-ray-yaa-n

In those two Paradises are two springs of running water

  • فِىۡ — Fee — In (= Amidst, among, contained or inside a place, period or phenomenon. Also, about; concerning; in reference, regarding relative to. A/t/a, ‘Therein’ and ‘Wherein’)
  • هِمَا —  Hay-maa — Those two (= pro., 2pl., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid 2 gardens)
  • عَيۡنٰنِ — Aiy-naa-nay — Two springs (= n., 2pl. Two springs of water. A/t/a, ‘fountains’)
  • تَجۡرِيٰنِ‌ — Tuj-ray-yaa-n — Running water (= n., pl., A/t/a, ‘flowing,’ ‘flowing (free),’  ‘flowing freely’ and’flowing full’)

The Holy Qor-aan       055:052

○ فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏

Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n

So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny

  • فَ — Fa — So (= Hence; then; thus; at the end; in conclusion; in the final analysis; consequently; finally; resultantly; therefore)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word  بِ  means ‘with’)
  • اَىِّ — Auy-yay — Which (= What. A/t/a, ‘Which is it’)
  • اٰلَاۤءِ — Aa-laa-aiy — Blessings (= n., pl., Donations; gifts; grants; favors; freebees; handouts. A/t/a, ‘bounties,’ ‘benefactions’ and ‘favours’)
  • رَبِّ — Rub-bay — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures; Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. The Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we  and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
  • كُمَا — Ko-maa — You two ** (= pro., 2pl., m., 2nd person. You both or twain. You two  bands, bunches, cliques, cults or groups.. Reference is to the bodies of men and jinn. A/t/a, ‘your’ [several authors], ‘you twain (jinn and men)’ and ‘you twain (believers and disbelievers).’ See Note 055:014)
  • تُكَذِّبٰنِ — To-kuz-zay-baa-n — You both can deny (= v., 2pl., 2nd person. Belie; contradict; decline; disagree; disapprove; discredit; disprove; rebuff; refuse; turn down. A/t/a, ‘will ye deny,’ ‘will you deny,’ ‘ye twain, O men and jinn, deny,’ ‘will you twain deny, O men and Jinn,’ ‘will you both (jinn and men) deny,’ ‘would you deny’ and ‘that ye deny’)

 ○ ۚفِيۡهِمَا مِنۡ كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوۡجٰنِ   

Fee-hay-maa-min-kool-lay-faa-kay-tin-zao-jaa-n

In those two every kind of fruit in pairs of two

  • فَاكِهَةٍ — Faa-kay-ha-tin — Fruit (= n., Eatable, edible or palatable produce of the trees)
  • زَوۡجٰنِ — Zao-jaa-n — Pairs (= n., 2pl. The two opposites or male and female which are needed to continue further creation of the same.  Example #1: Cross pollination is required in plants to produce its seeds for continuing the crop.  Example #2. Male and female humans are needed for birthing babies for continuation of the human race. Example #3: Negative and positive are needed to complete the electric current flow. A/t/a, ‘two and two,’ ‘pair of,’ ‘in pairs,’ ‘in two varieties’ and ‘two kinds’)

            Moot-ta-kay-ee-na-alaa-fo-ro-shin                                                                                                    Ba-taa-aiy-no-haa-min-iss-tub-ruq                                                                                                    Wa-ja-nul-jun-na-tai-nay-daa-n

 

            Reclining on spreads                                                                                                                   Their fillings made of brocade                                                                                                 And fruit of both Gardens close at hand

 

  • مُتَّكِـــِٕيۡنَ — Moot-ta-kay-ee-na — Reclining (= n. Those sitting in the half up-right position in relaxing postures; reclining. A/t/a, ‘The inmates thereof will recline,’ ‘They will recline,’ ‘They (- the owners of Paradise) will be reclining’ and ‘They shall recline’ are translations as a verb of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a noun)
  • عَلٰى — Alaa — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon)
  • فُرُشٍۢ — Fo-ro-shin — Spreads (= n., pl., A thick padded spread used like a bed or mattress; flooring. Also, a round pillow used as a back-support by a person reclining. A/t/a, ‘Carpets,’ ‘beds,’ ‘cushions above carpets,’ ‘couches,’ ‘couches above carpets,’ ‘couches over carpets’ and ‘(on couches) over carpets’)
  • بَطَآٮِٕنُ — Ba-taa-aiy-no — Fillings (= n., pl for بَطَن ., Bellies; center; insides; stomachs. In re a pregnant woman it means womb. A/t/a, ‘inner linings,’  ‘inner coverings’ and ‘the lining.’ But ‘lined’ is a translation as a verb of what the Holy Qor-aan has described as a noun)
  • هَا — Haa — Their (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid group, class, category or type of pillows translated here as cushions)
  • مِنۡ — Min —  From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several. See  مِنۡ  above.  A/t/a, ‘lined with’)
  • اِسۡتَبۡرَقٍ‌ —  Iss-tub-ruq — Brocade (= n., Soft, silky and fluffy material that does not compress, condense or crumble despite use over a period of time — a luxury affordable only by the royalties in medieval ages. A/t/a, ‘thick brocade’ and ‘silk brocade’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • جَنَی — Ja-na…(ul) — Fruit (= Harvest from the trees. A/t/a, ‘ripe fruits,’ ‘ripe fruit,’ ‘the fruit’ and ‘the fruits’)
  • الۡجَـنَّتَيۡنِ — Jun-na-tai-nay — Both gardens (= Heavens; Paradise)
  • دَانٍ — Daa-n — Close at hand (= Adj., Close by; easily accessible; hanging low and within easy reach to pick, pluck, eat and enjoy; nearby; very near. هٰذِهٖ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِىۡ يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الۡمُجۡرِمُوۡنَ‌ۘ‏  ○  يَطُوۡفُوۡنَ بَيۡنَهَا وَبَيۡنَ حَمِيۡمٍ اٰنٍ ۚ ○  ‏ فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏○ وَلِمَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهٖ جَنَّتٰنِ○    فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ ۙ‏ ○      ذَوَاتَاۤ اَفۡنَانٍ  ۚ ○  ‏     فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏ ○  ‏

 

  1. Haa-zay-he-ja-hun-na-mool-la-tee-yo-kuz-zay-bat-hul-mooj-ray-moo-n
  2. Ya-too-foo-na-bai-na-haa-wa-bai-na-ha-me-min-aan
  3. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n
  4. Wa-lay-mun-khaa-fa-ma-qaa-ma-rub-bay-he-jun-na-taa-n
  5. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n
  6. Za-waa-taa-uf-naa-nin
  7. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n

 

  1. This is the Hell that with which the wrongdoers will deny
  2. They will go round in circles between it and a very hot spring of water
  3. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny
  4. And for whoever feared standing his God are two Gardens
  5. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny
  6. Both with dense greenery
  7. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny

This is the Hell that with which the wrongdoers will deny

  • هٰذِهِ — Ha-zay-he –This (= This particularly pointed out; present right here; what is in front of you. A/t/a, ‘And they will be told’ and ‘will be told: This is’)
  •  جَهَنَّمُ – Ja-hun-na-mo(ola) — Hell (= Blazing Fire. Purgatory; Gehanna; hell-fire. Also, the hellish life in this world)
  • ٱلَّتِى — Ul-la-tee — That (= s., f., 3rd person article, thing or person; she; that; who)
  • يُكَذِّبُ — Yo-kuz-zay-bo — Deny (= v., pres.,  3rd person. Act or behave hypocritically; belie;  disbelieve; disclaim; fail to accept the truth; falsify; lie; misstate; practice hypocrisy, refuse to accept the truth;  reject; renounce; repudiate. Correct translation is ‘deny.’ Inaccurate translations are ‘cried lies,’ ‘denied’ and ‘disbelieved’ of a verb in the past tense when the Holy Qor-aan has used it in the present tense)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with)
  • هَا — Ha…(ul) — Which (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid hell)
  • الۡمُجۡرِمُوۡنَ Mooj-ray-moo-n — Wrongdoers (= n., pl., Convicts; criminals; sinners. A/t/a, ‘The guilty,’ ‘(polytheists, criminals, sinners’ and ‘sinners’)

يَطُوۡفُوۡنَ بَيۡنَهَا وَبَيۡنَ حَمِيۡمٍ اٰنٍ‌    

Ya-too-foo-na-bai-na-haa-wa-bai-na-ha-me-min-aan 

They will go round in circles between it and a very hot spring of water

  • هٖ —  He — His (= pro., m., s., 2nd person. He; him; his. But inaccurate translations are ‘their’ in the plural although the Holy Qor-aan has used this pronoun as a singular, and ‘your’ although the Holy Qor-aan has used this pronoun for the 3rd person)
  • جَنَّتٰنِ — Jun-na-taa-nay — Two Gardens (= n., Heavens. A/t/a, ‘two Gardens,’ ‘two Gardens (of bliss here and the Hereafter)’ and ‘two gardens (i.e. in Paradise).

فَاِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ وَرۡدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ‌ ۚ‏○   فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏○ فَيَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لَّا يُسۡـَٔـلُ عَنۡ ذَنۡۢبِهٖۤ اِنۡسٌ وَّلَا جَآنّ ۚ‏ ○ فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏○  يُعۡرَفُ الۡمُجۡرِمُوۡنَ بِسِيۡمٰهُمۡ فَيُؤۡخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِىۡ وَ الۡاَقۡدَامِ ۚ‏ ○ فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏ ○  ‏

 

38. Fa-aiy-zun-shuq-qa-tiss-sa-maa-aa-fa-kaa-nut-wur-da-ton-kud-day-haa-n                  39. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n                                    40. Fa-yao-ma-aiy-zin-laa-yoos-aa-lo-un-zun-bay-he-in-soon-wa-laa-jaa-n                  41. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n                                          42. Yoe-ra-fool-mooj-ray-moo-na-bay-se-maa-hoom                                                                           Fa-yoe-kha-za-bin-na-waa-se-wul-uq-daa-m                                                                          43. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n

 

38. So when the sky has split and would be red like raw hide                                39. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny                            40. So that day no man and no Jinn will be asked about his sin                                41. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny                            42. The wrongdoers will be recognized by their looks                                                           Then they will be caught and carried by the forelocks and feet                        43. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny

فَاِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ وَرۡدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ ۚ‏

Fa-aiy-zun-shuq-qa-tis-sa-maa-o-fakaa-nut-wur-da-ton-kud-de-haa-n

So when the sky has split and would be red like raw hide

  • انْشَقَّتِ — Un-shuq-qa-t(iss) — Has split (= v., past., f gender., 3rd person. Burst. Cleft. Rent asunder. Torn apart. A/t/a, ‘spliteth asunder,’ ‘is rent asunder,’ ‘splits asunder’ and ‘splits up’)
  • السَّمَآءُ — Sa-maa-o — The sky (= s., All above ground or earth and in the space above. Also, clouds; heavens rains; space; water; universe;  world heights. A/t/a, ‘heaven’)
  •  فَ — Fa — Then / And      (= After this; hence; so; thus; therefore. See فَ above)
  • كَانَتۡ — Kaa-nut — Would be (= v., past., f., 3rd person. A/t/a, ‘assumes,’ ‘ becomes,’  ‘turns’ and ‘reddens’ are translations in the present tense although the Hoy Qor-aan has used the word in the past tense)
  •   وَرۡدَةً — Wur-da-ton — Red (= Red [several authors]. A/t/a, ‘rosy,’ ‘rosy hue,’ ‘rosy or red,’ ‘rose-red,’ ‘crimson’ and ‘reddens like a red rose’)
  • كَ — Ka…(ud) — Like (= Identical; resembling; similar to the one stated in prior  verse to. Take the example or similitude of)

  • تُكَذِّبٰنِ — To-kuz-zay-baa-n — You both can deny (= v., 2pl., 2nd person. Belie; contradict; decline; disagree; disapprove; discredit; disprove; rebuff; refuse; turn down. فَيَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لَّا يُسۡـَٔـلُ عَنۡ ذَنۡۢبِهٖۤ اِنۡسٌ وَّلَا جَآنّ ۚ‏

Fa-yao-ma-aiy-zin-laa-yoos-alo-un-zumb-bay-he-in-soon-wa-laa-jaa-n

So that day no man and no Jinn will be asked about his sin

 سَنَفۡرُغُ لَـكُمۡ اَيُّهَ الثَّقَلٰنِ‌ ۚ ○  فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰن○  يٰمَعۡشَرَ الۡجِنِّ وَالۡاِنۡسِ اِنِ اسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ اَنۡ تَنۡفُذُوۡا مِنۡ اَقۡطَارِ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ فَانْفُذُوۡا‌ؕ لَا تَنۡفُذُوۡنَ اِلَّا بِسُلۡطٰنٍ ۚ  ○  فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏ ○  يُرۡسَلُ عَلَيۡكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّنۡ نَّارٍ ۙ وَّنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنۡتَصِرٰنِ ۚ‌ ○ فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏ ○  ‏     

 

32. Sa-nuf-ro-gho-la-koom-auy-yo-huth-tha-qa-laa-n                                                                33. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n                                        34. Yaa-mau-sha-ril-jin-nay-wul-in-say                                                                                                 Aiy-nis-ta-toom-un-tun-fo-zoo-min-uq-taa-ris                                                                               Sa-ma-waa-tay-wul-ur-dzay-fun-fo-zoo                                                                                          Laa-tun-fo-zoo-na-il-laa-bay-sool-taa-n                                                                                    35. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n                                      36. Yoor-sa-lo-alai-ko-maa-sho-waa-zoom-min-naa-rin-wa-no-haa-soon-fa-laa-tun-ta-         say-raa-n                                                                                                                                37. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

32. Soon We will attend to you, listen both the heavy-weights!                                  33. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny                            34. Listen! You the group of Jinn and Men                                                                               If you are able to cross over the rows of                                                                               The Heavens and the Earth, then cross over                                                                     You can’t cross unless with an authorization                                                              35. So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny                            36. Will be sent on you both the flame of fire and smoke; so you both won’t be          helped.                                                                                                                                      38.  So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny

            Yaa-mau-sha-ril-jin-nay-wul-in-say                                                                                                  Aiy-nis-toom-un-tun-fo-zoo-min-uq-taa-ris                                                                                    Sa-maa-waa-tay-wul-ur-dzay-fun-fo-zoo                                                                                        Laa-tun-fo-zoo-na-il-laa-bay-sool-taa-n

 

            Listen! You the group of Jinn and Men                                                                               If you are able to cross over the rows of                                                                               The Heavens and the Earth, then cross over                                                                      You can’t cross unless with an authorization

  1. Kool-lo-mun-alai-haa-faan-nin
  2. Wa-yub-qaa-wuj-ho-rub-bay-ka-zool-ja-laa-lay-wul-ik-raa-m
  3. Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n
  4. Yus–lo-hoo-mun-fis-sa-maa-waa-tay-wul-urdz-kool-la-yao-min-ho-wa-fww-shau-n

  2. And lasts the face of your God Lord of the Grandeur and Generosity

The Holy Qor-aan       055:027

كُلُّ مَنۡ عَلَيۡهَا فَانٍ‌ۚ‌ ۖ‏

Kool-lo-alai-haa-faa-nin

All on it ends

  • كُلُّ — Kool-lo — All (= All; altogether; each and everyone; everything with no exception; in every manner; total; very much; whole)
  • مَنۡ — Mun — Who (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whoso)
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon)
  • هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid earth)
  • فَانٍ — Faa-nin — Ends (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Comes to an end. A/t/a, ‘will perish,’ ‘will pass away,’ ‘is subject to decay and doomed to pass away,’ ‘passes away’ and ‘doomed to die’)

The Holy Qor-aan       055:028

وَّيَبۡقٰى وَجۡهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الۡجَلٰلِ وَالۡاِكۡرَامِ‌ ۚ

Wa-yu-qaa-wuj-ho-rub-bay-ka-zool-ja-laa-lay-wul-ik-raa-m

And lasts the face of your God Lord of the Grandeur and Generosity

  • وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; instead; more over; rather; though; when)
  • يَبۡقٰى — Yub-qaa — Lasts (= v., pres., s., m., 3rd person. Last; last and last; live; survive. A/t/a, ‘will abide (for ever),’ ‘will abide for ever,’ ‘will survive,’ ‘will remain forever,’ ‘will endure forever,’ ‘there endures for ever’ and ‘endures for ever’)
  • وَجۡهُ — Wuj-ho — Face (= n., Countenance; glory; grandeur; greatness. A/t/a, ‘the person’ and ‘which is under the care of’)
  • رَبِّ — Rub-bay — Lord God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures; Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. The Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. The addressee of this divine message is initially the Holy Prophet s.a.w and secondarily every Moslem, in fact every human being. See the Note under 002:005)
  • ذُوۡ — Zo…(ol) — Of (= Bestowed or endowed with; master; owner; possessor. A/t/a, ‘full of,’ ‘Master of’ and ‘in all its’)
  • الۡجَـلٰلِ — Ja-laa-lay — Grandeur (= n., Awe; Mighty; Majestic; Majesty. A/t/a, ‘full of Majesty’ and ‘Glory’)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See   وَّ  above)
  • الۡاِكۡرَامِ — Ik-raa-m — Generosity (= n., Greatness. Bounteous, Bountiful, Generous and Honored. Very Highly Respected; A/t/a, ‘Bounty and Honour,’ ‘Glory and Honour,’ ‘glory’ and ‘honour’)

The Holy Qor-aan       055:029

○ فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ‏

Fa-bay-auy-yay-aa-laa-aiy-rub-bay-ko-maa-to-kuz-zay-baa-n

So with which blessings of God of you two can you both deny

  • فَ — Fa — So (= Hence; then; thus; at the end; in conclusion; in the final analysis; consequently; finally; resultantly; therefore)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word  بِ  means ‘with’)
  • اَىِّ — Auy-yay — Which (= What. A/t/a, ‘Which is it’)
  • اٰلَاۤءِ — Aa-laa-aiy — Blessings (= n., pl., Donations; gifts; grants; favors; freebees; handouts. A/t/a, ‘bounties,’ ‘benefactions’ and ‘favours’)
  • رَبِّ — Rub-bay — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures; Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. The Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we  and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
  • كُمَا — Ko-maa — You two ** (= pro., 2pl., m., 2nd person. You both or twain. You two  bands, bunches, cliques, cults or groups.. Reference is to the bodies of men and jinn. A/t/a, ‘your’ [several authors], ‘you twain (jinn and men)’ and ‘you twain (believers and disbelievers).’ See Note 055:014)
  • تُكَذِّبٰنِ — To-kuz-zay-baa-n — You both can deny (= v., 2pl., 2nd person. Belie; contradict; decline; disagree; disapprove; discredit; disprove; rebuff; refuse; turn down. A/t/a, ‘will ye deny,’ ‘will you deny,’ ‘ye twain, O men and jinn, deny,’ ‘will you twain deny, O men and Jinn,’ ‘will you both (jinn and men) deny,’ ‘would you deny’ and ‘that ye deny’)

يَسۡـَٔـلُهٗ مَنۡ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ‌ؕ كُلَّ يَوۡمٍ هُوَ فِىۡ شَاۡنٍ  ‌ 

Yus-aa-lo-hoo-mun-fis-sa-maa-waa-tay-wul-urdz-kool-la-yao-min-ho-wa-fee-shau-n

All in the heavens and the earth beseech Him. Every day He is in a Splendor

  • يَسۡـَٔـلُ –Yus-a-lo — Beseech (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Ask; beg; pray; seek. A/t/a, ‘seeks (its needs),’ ‘begs of Him (its needs from Him),’ ‘do beg,’ ‘ask of,’ ‘entreat,’ ‘implores’ and ‘beseech’)
  • هٗ — Hoo — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
  • مَنۡ — Mun — Who (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whoso. A/t/a, ‘all that are,’ ‘that is,’ ‘the rational beings that are in’ and ‘who dwell’)
  • فِى — F…(is) — In (= Amidst; among; belonging; inside the place or period)
  • السَّمٰوٰتِ — Sa-maa-waa-tay — The heavens (= n., pl., Firmament. All above ground or earth and in the space above. Knowledge of the astronomical objects and geographical heights. Also, clouds, rains, skies and universe)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See   وَّ  above)
  • الۡاَرۡضِ — Ur-dzay — The earth (= Area; country; earth; ground; land; soil; territory Also,
  • life on earth)
  • كُلَّ — Kool-la — Every (= All; altogether; each and everyone with no exception)
  • يَوۡمٍ۬ — Yao-min — Day (= s., A period, term or time that ends; juncture. A/t/a, ‘moment’)
  • هُوَ — Ho-wa — He (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God. A/t/a, ‘He reveals Himself’ and ‘He is  (engaged)’
  • فِىۡ — Fee — In (= Amidst, among, contained or inside a place, period or phenomenon. See Note at 002:028)
  • شَاۡنٍ — Shau-n — Splendor (= n., Glory; Greatness. Magnificence. New or different concerns, matters or things of importance. What He manifests, shows or reveals. in a different glory. A/t/a, ‘(new) Splendor Doth He (shine),’ ‘in a different state,’ ‘a state (of glory),’ ‘some affair (such as giving honour or disgrace to some, life or death to some),’ ‘createth (universal) power,’ ‘He manifests Himself in a new state,’ ‘He manifests Himself in a new state (of glory),’ ‘commands universal power’ and ‘new task employs Him’)
