The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                     007:130

 

قَالُوٓاْ أُوذِينَا مِن قَبۡلِ أَن تَأۡتِيَنَا وَمِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جِئۡتَنَا‌ۚ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن يُهۡلِكَ عَدُوَّڪُمۡ وَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَڪُمۡ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرَ ڪَيۡفَ تَعۡمَلُونَ

 

Qaa-loo  oo-zee  naa  min  qaub-lay  aun
Tau-tee  naa  wa  min  bau-day  maa  jae-ta  naa

Qaa-la  aa-saa  raub-bo  koom
Aun  yoh-lay-ka  aa-doow-wa  koom
Wa  yaus-taukh-lay-fa  koom  fee  l-aur-dzay
Fa  yaun-zo-ra  kai-fa  tau-ma-loo-n

 

They said, “We were distressed from before
You came to us and from after you reached us.”

Jesus said, “Soon your God is going to show
That He destroys your enemies
And deputizes you on earth.
Then He sees how you do things.”

 

  • قَالُوٓاْ — Qaa-loo — They said (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. All those men announced,           called, declared or told. See Note 002:012. A/t/a, ‘They replied’ and’ They (- the persons of superficial thinking of the children of Israel)’
  • أُوذِي — Oo-zee — Were distressed (= v., past., pass.,  pl., 3rd  person. Harmed. Hurt.  Tormented. Tortured. Troubled, A/t/a, ‘were oppressed’ and ‘were persecuted.’ But ‘we suffered hurt,’ ‘had suffered troubles,’ ‘have been hurt’ and ‘have had  (nothing but) trouble’ in the active voice have not translated the passive voice in the Holy Qor-aan text)
  • نَآ  — Naa  — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. We. Our. Us. A/t/a, ‘we (children of Israel’)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kinds, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • قَبۡلِ — Qaub-lay — Before (= adv. Aforetime. Ahead. Beforehand. Earlier time. Former, older, past, previous or prior period. What happened or occurred antecedently, historically and previously. A/t/a, ‘before’ and ‘both before’)
  • اَنۡ — Aun — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily)
  • تَأۡتِيَ  — Tau-tee  –You came (= v., past., s., 2nd person. Appeared. Arrived. Had come. Reached. A/t/a, ‘thou camest’ and ‘you came’)
  • نَآ  — Naa — Us (= pro., pl., 1st person. We. Our. See نَآ above. A/t/a, ‘to us’ and ‘unto us’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; but; moreover; though; when; whereupon; while; yet)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class. See  مِنۡ  above. A/t/a, ‘since’)
  • بَعۡدِ — Bau-day — After (= Afterwards. Behind. Later. Subsequently. Successively. A/t/a, ‘after,’ ‘even after,’ ‘since’  and (are being persecuted) even after’)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever; at such time; when. See 004:067)
  • جِئۡتَ — Jaye-ta — You reached (= v., past., s., 2nd person. Appeared. Arrived. Had come. Reached. A/t/a, ‘thou camest,’ ‘thou hast come,’ ‘you have come to,’ ‘you came to’ ‘and oppressed we remain’)
  • نَآ  — Naa —  Us (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our. We. See  نَآ  above)
  • قَا لَ  — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past., m., 3rd person. Announced; called; conveyed   countered; countered; declared; said;;stated; told. See 002:031. A/t/a, ‘Moses said’ and ‘(Moses) said’)
  • عَسَىٰ — Aa-saa — Soon (= Soon in near future; it could happen; maybe; peradventure;  perchance; perhaps; possibly; quite close; very near. A/t/a, ‘it may be,’ ‘It is well-nigh,’ ‘soon might’ and ‘about’)           
  • رَبُّ — Raub-bo — GOD / LORD (= The Almighty Allah who fills all needs of all creatures. Cherisher. Creator. Guardian. Lord Provident. Master. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist. See 001:002)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You)
  • اَنۡ — Aun — That (= So that. The fact is that)
  • يُهۡلِكَ — Yoh-lay-ka — Destroys (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Annihilates. Brings or causes death. Ends life. Destroys. Kills. Ruins. A/t/a, ‘destroy,’ will destroy,’ ‘will … destroy’ and ‘going to destroy’)
  • عَدُوَّ — Aa-doo-wa — An enemy (= n., Adversary. Anyone bearing animosity, enmity, grudge, hatred or hostility. People at war. Who severs any connection between the Creator Allah and His creation Mankind. A/t/a, ‘enemy’ and ‘adversary’)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You)
  • وَ  — Wa — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses. See  وَ   above)
  • يَسۡتَخۡلِفَ — Yaus-taukh-lay-fa — Deputizes (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Appoints or makes an assistant to continue his principal’s mission as a caliph, deputy, heir, representative, successor, viceroy or vicegerent. See Commentaries Law – Successors (Caliphs) and Law – Succession (Caliphate). A/t/a, ‘make you rulers,’ ‘make you inheritors,’ ‘make you His  vicegerents,’ ‘make you successor’ and ‘make you viceroys’)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You)
  • فِىۡ — Fee  — In / On (= About. Amidst. Among. Contained inside a duration, event, time, place, period, person, phenomenon,  situation or thing. See Note 002:028. A/t/a, ‘in’ and ‘on’)
  • الۡاَرۡضِ — Aul-ur-dzay — The Earth (= n., Area; country; earth; ground; land; soil; territory. Also, life on earth, nation; people or society in general. See Note 002:028a. A/t/a, ‘land’ and ‘the (promised) land’)

  • يَنظُرَ — Yaun-zo-ra — He sees (= v., pres., 3rd person. Considers; evaluates; looks; takes   notice; records; sees; thinks; watches; weighs. See. Note 002:163. A/t/a, ‘He may try,’ ‘He will see,’ ‘He may then see’ and ‘He may see‘)
  • كَيۡفَ — Kai-fa — What / How (= How or what about. How could, would or should it be,  do, fare or look. In what fashion, manner, method or way. A/t/a, ‘how’ and ‘by’)
  • تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ — Tau-ma-loo-na — You do (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Act; bring about; do; operate; perform; practice; render; strive; work. A/t/a, ‘You act,’ ‘you conduct yourself,’  ‘you behave,’ ‘you are going to act’ and ‘you conduct yourselves.’ But the noun as in ‘your deeds’ is no translation of the Holy Qor-aan text with a verb)
