Note 007:075: A simple and straight forward translation of the verse is given above. But the interpretations of these words is based upon one’s own outlook.

  1. Some have implied it to mean the conquering, dominating and winning over the weaker nations as well as the stronger nations and ruling them by living iposhly in palaces and loft homes which reflected their own living.
  2. Malik Ghulam Farid translated this verse based upon his own personal experience of the wealthier folks in India and Pakistan. He wrote that the tribe of Thamud like the rich and resourceful people went up and lived in the cooler mountains in summer and stayed down in the warmer plains in winter.
