فَلَمَّا كَشَفۡنَا عَنۡهُمُ الرِّجۡزَ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ هُمۡ بٰلِغُوۡهُ اِذَا هُمۡ يَنۡكُثُوۡنَ
Fa laum-maa ka-shauf-na aun ho-mor rij-za
Aiy-laa aa-ja-lin hoom baa-lay ghoo ho
Aiy-zaa hoom yaun-ka-thoon
Then when We removed from them the plague
Until the term had expired
See! they break promise.
- فَ — Fa — Then (= After all this; as a result; at the end; but; consequently; hence; in conclusion; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus; yet. See 002:027. A/t/a, ‘But’)
- لَمَّا — Laum-maa — When (= This combines two words. First word لَ (=la) means absolutely, certainly, positively, surely, truly or verily. The second word ما (= maa) means any time, at such time, when [all but 2]and whenever. See Note 004:067. A/t/a, ‘every time’ and ‘no sooner’)
- كَشَفۡنَا — Ka-shauf-naa — We removed (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Eliminated. Ended. Eradicated. Opened. Relieved. Removed. Took away. Wiped out. Withheld. The past tense for single 3rd person is now that of plural 1st person as explained in Note 001:007. A/t/a, ‘We removed,’ ‘We did remove,’ ‘did we avert’ and ‘We had lifted’)
- عَنۡ — Aun — From (= About; concerning; regarding; relative to)
- هُمُ — Ho-mo … (or) — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. They. Ref to aforesaid persons)
- الرِّجۡزَ — Rij-za — The plague (= n. Affliction. Chastisement. Curse. Doom. Penalty. Plague. Punishment. Torment. Terror. A/t/a, ‘the punishment,’ ‘that punishment,’ ‘the torment,’ ‘the terror’ and ‘The Penalty’)
- اِلَى — Aiy-laa — Until (= In the direction of; to; towards. In some situations this word can also mean for, ‘till’ or ‘until. A/t/a, ‘According to,’ ‘to’ and ‘up to’)
- اَجَلٍ — Aa-ja-lin — Term (= n., Deadline. Duration. Period. Time. Timeline. A/t/a, ‘term,’ ‘determined term,’ ‘fixed term,’ ‘a (scheduled) term’ and ‘appointed time’)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., 3rd person. They. Ref to aforesaid Israelites)
- بٰلِغُوۡ — Baa-lay-ghoo — Must have reached (= v., past. pl., 3rd person. Arrived at. Completed. Ended. Filled. Fulfilled. Finished. Reached. A/t/a, ‘they had to fulfill,’ ‘they had to reach,’ ‘they were to reach,’ ‘they must reach,’ ‘they were to reach (in all events),’ ‘they should attain’ and ‘had reached’)
- هُ — Ho — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid term. A/t/a, ‘which’)

A/t/a, ‘they broke their promise,’ ‘they broke the promise,’ ‘they broke (their promise),’ ‘they broke their covenant’ and ‘they broke their word’ but that past tense has not translated the present tense in the Holy Qor-aan text)
