The Holy Qor-aan 007:131
وَلَقَدۡ اَخَذۡنَاۤ اٰلَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ بِالسِّنِيۡنَ وَنَقۡصٍ مِّنَ الثَّمَرٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَذَّكَّرُوۡنَ
Wa la-qaud aa-khau-zaa aa-lay phir-auo-na
Bay(s) say-ne-na wa nauq-say(m) may-nau(th)
Tha-ma-raa-tay la-aul-laa hoom yauz-zauk-ka-roo-n
And We certainly caught the followers of Pharoah
With the years of scarcity and shortage of the
Fruits so they may remember God Almighty.

The past tense verb for single 3rd person is replaced by that for the plural 1st person as explained in the Note 001:007. - فِرۡعَوۡنَ — Phir-auo-no — Pharaoh (= n., Dictatorial monarchs of Egypt who were known to be extremely arrogant, highly boastful, pride-stricken, vanity rich and with big ego)

- السِّنِيۡنَ — Say-ne-na — Years (= n., pl., Years of drought. Years of reversals in economic and social growth. Reference here is to the number of years of drought and food shortage that was inflicted upon Pharoah’s kingdom. See 002:156.
