The Holy Qor-aan 081:008 ○ وَاِذَا النُّفُوۡسُ زُوِّجَتۡ
Wa-ezun-no-foo-so-zoo-way-jut
And when the people will be married
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- اِ ذَ ا — Eza…(un) — When (= Any time or event; now that; when; whenever)
- النُّفُوۡسُ — No-foo-so — People * (= n., pl., Folks; human beings; souls of men and women)
- زُوِّجَتۡ — Zoo way-jut — Married * (= Paired. Persons sorted out to join in a matrimonial tie. Reunited. United)
* Note 081:008a: Maulana Muhammad Ali has translated the verse as “When men are united.” His Note #2674 explained it as the “One of the greatest achievement of the modern civilization … Time is not far … when the whole world will be united and may become as a single nation.” A very similar sentiment is expressed in several other translations. But Dr Khan and Dr Al-Hilali chose to say, “Souls are joined with their bodies – the good with the good and the bad with the bad.” And yet some plausible meanings are stated below in the note 081:008b.
* Note 081:008b. The key word زُوِّجَتۡ is generally used to express the matrimonial ties between a man and a woman. One example of such use is creating pairs consisting of a male and a female stated in 078:009. Interpreting it to express gathering people from many countries in one location appears a stretch. Moreover the precedent and subsequent verses tell of unusual events that do not occur every day. It is no extraordinary event for man and woman to marry to procreate the life as done since Adam. Traditional marriage is hardly the type of a catastrophic extraordinary event told in other verses. The abomination of same-sex marriage is of that kind although legalized now in some countries. Almost all Scriptures denounced those who openly practiced the evil (007:082) thing in the past. The Prophet Lot was sent to end that immorality acquiesced by the people by warning them first. But the community persisted with its life-style and continued it until they annihilated themselves. The same-sex humans licensed as husband and wife is by no means the natural way to procreate. What makes sense for the continuation of human race is procreation of life by a man and a woman.
And then there are several other formations. Like nations forming consortiums such as the League of Nations and United Nations. Or, regional countries creating defense packets like NATO, CENTO and SEATO. Or, foreign invasions organized by creating multi-national task forces and alliances. Or, nations marrying and merging into each other before divorcing and separating like Syria did with Egypt or East Pakistan turned into Bangla Desh.

The Holy Qor-aan 081:009 ○ وَاِذَا الۡمَوۡءٗدَةُ سُٮِٕلَتۡ ۙ
Wa-ezul-mao-oo-da-to-so-elut
And when she buried alive will be asked
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- اِ ذَ ا — Eza…(ul) — Whenever (= Any time or event; now that; when; whenever)
- الۡمَوۡءٗدَةُ — Mao-oo-da-to — She buried alive (= A new-born female infant) *
- سُٮِٕلَتۡ — So-elut — Asked (= Inquired; investigated; questioned. See Note 080:010)
*Note. 081:009. Historically the Arab Bedouins before the 7th Century AD buried alive a new-born girl. The Holy Qor-aan ended this barbarous custom of pre-Islamic era and forbid all from doing that. Many have yet to comply despite legislation, public awareness and women’s rights movements. Unfortunately even in the 21st Century AD the Indian law of this murder is being flouted openly. I heard (in Sep 2015 in USA) from our neighbors, a husband-wife couple of doctors from India. She is a practicing Jain and had received from a good friend a phone text message that appalled her. I believe this 3rd party info to be true as I saw and heard this credible Doctor’s anguished lament. How sad that an Indian mother of two girls delivered a third girl who died soon after her birth. Our Commentary titled as The Holy Qor-aan – Examples illustrating its Content cites several events. The words سُٮِٕلَتۡ in the this verse and قُتِلَت in the next verse illustrate another filled prophecy. Once it was just a forecast that the innocent deceased infant would be asked why was she killed. Today laws authorize courts, police and law enforcement to investigate and punish the culprits. The enacted laws reflect the growth of the civilization in recognizing woman’s role of importance. Read our Commentary Woman – Role in Evolution

- الصُّحُفُ — So-ho-fo — Scriptures (= Divine revelations penned down in a form that can be read. Holy revelations from God to His apostles. Written parts, pages and portions of the Book. Leaves and pages kept pure and sanctified. Scrolls. The Code. The Holy Book. 2. The contents of books, journals, magazines, pages of written material and publications)
- نُشِرَتۡ –No-shay-rut — Laid open * (= Opened up, spread all over and made easily accessible to everyone. A/t/a ‘spread abroad’)
* Note 081:001: Knowledge of all kinds will be put in books, published and spread. All knowledge of religions in sacred pages will no more be a prerogative of the selected few. It will be in books and other printed forms and easily available to any seeker of knowledge. So-called scholars will no longer be able to keep their masses ignorant in religious matters. Monopolistic ability of religious scholars to pull wool over the eyes of masses would end. The explosion of knowledge will enable finding Truth without travels to far-flung places. This site and others like it are definitely opening up Scriptures for all seekers of the Truth.
And this verse has been translated in other ways too. ‘The records of men’s deeds will be laid open.” “The (written) pages [of deeds (good and bad) of every person] are laid open.” The examples are everywhere. Court records. Credit reports. Criminal proceedings. Journalistic investigations. Social-media sites. All are public for anyone to see them freely and openly. Little privacy is left in anyone’s past life. Few skeletons are left in closets Many other types of records are for limited public access but affect 100% of the people. That category includes medically shared information, banking and insurance webs.

The Holy Qor-aan 081:007 ○ وَاِذَا الۡبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتۡ ۙ
Wa-ezul-bay-haa-ro-sooj-jay-rut
And when the oceans will be raised
* Note 081:007. The translation that levels in ocean will be “raised” has many examples that we can see. Tsunamis when an ocean appears swollen or boiling by natural events like the under-water quakes. Oceans when sea-levels rise by melting of huge glaciers regardless of the global warming effects. Reservoirs when dams collect water to raise levels for the irrigation or nationalist political purposes. Lakes when they appear ablaze by massive fire-work displays or lighting of the recreational boats. Big bodies of water when one is dynamited to connect it with another through some water-way. Canals [like Panama] dug up to raise ships to a higher sea. Sea-fights that set enemy ships on fire. The word سُجِّرَتۡ has all above meanings (Lane).
Some people have extrapolated the word سُجِّرَتۡ as drained rivers or dried lakes. Such translations may appear to contradict the meanings ‘raised’ which are chosen above. But really the translation of the word as raised implies the meanings of drained up as well. An example is the Aral Sea of which I read (Acknowledgements – 5) in the magazine Wired. The article gave details how from its former shore-line it had shrunk inland by many miles. The ships and large boats were shown just abandoned on the dry parched former lake-bed. A pilot flying for years over Aral on International flights had provided visual confirmation. And a quick search for this fact was further found in the following quote in the Wikipedia.
“The Aral Sea (Kazakh: Арал Теңізі Aral Teñizi; Mongolian: Арал тэнгис; Russian: Ара́льское море, tr. Aral’skoye Morye; IPA: [ɐˈralʲskəjə ˈmorʲɪ]; Tajik: Баҳри Арал Bahri Aral; older Persian: دریای خوارزم Daryâ-ye Khârazm) was an endorheic lake lying between Kazakhstan (Aktobe and Kyzylorda provinces) in the north and Uzbekistan (Karakalpakstan autonomous region) in the south. The name roughly translates as “Sea of Islands”, referring to over 1,100 islands that once dotted its waters; in Mongolian aral means “island”.[3] The Aral Sea drainage basin encompasses Uzbekistan and parts of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.[4]
Formerly one of the four largest lakes in the world with an area of 68,000 km2 (26,300 sq mi), the Aral Sea has been steadily shrinking since the 1960s after the rivers that fed it were diverted by Soviet irrigation projects. By 2007, it had declined to 10% of its original size, splitting into four lakes – the North Aral Sea, the eastern and western basins of the once far larger South Aral Sea, and one smaller lake between the North and South Aral Seas.[5] By 2009, the southeastern lake had disappeared and the southwestern lake had retreated to a thin strip at the extreme west of the former southern sea; in subsequent years, occasional water flows have led to the southeastern lake sometimes being replenished to a small degree.[6] Satellite images taken by NASA in August 2014 revealed that for the first time in modern history the eastern basin of the Aral Sea had completely dried up.[7] The eastern basin is now called the Aralkum desert.
In an ongoing effort in Kazakhstan to save and replenish the North Aral Sea, a dam project was completed in 2005; in 2008, the water level in this lake had risen by 12 m (39 ft) compared to 2003. Salinity has dropped, and fish are again found in sufficient numbers for some fishing to be viable.[8] The maximum depth of the North Aral Sea is 42 m (138 ft) (as of 2008).[1]
The shrinking of the Aral Sea has been called “one of the planet’s worst environmental disasters”.[9][10] The region’s once-prosperous fishing industry has been essentially destroyed, bringing unemployment and economic hardship. The Aral Sea region is also heavily polluted, with consequential serious public health problems.”
