The Holy Qor-aan 002:051
وَاِذۡ فَرَقۡنَا بِكُمُ الۡبَحۡرَ فَاَنۡجَيۡنٰکُمۡ وَاَغۡرَقۡنَآ اٰلَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَاَنۡتُمۡ تَنۡظُرُوۡنَ
Wa-iz-fa-ruq-naa-bay-ko-mool-bauh-ra-wa-ugh-ruq-naa-aa-la-phir-auo-na-wa-un-toom-tun-zo-roo-n.
And call to mind when We parted the ocean for you. Then We saved you. And We drowned the followers of Pharaoh and you were watching.
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses; also; but; additionally; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- اِذۡ — Iz — When (= Behold; call to mind, recall; remember or think of the time,
event, occasion, opportunity or time) - فَرَقۡ — Fa-ruq — Parted (= Divided; held back; separated. A/t/a Brought through)
- نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Us. Used with God’s name it reflects the authoritative way a higher-up talks to a subordinate)
- بِ — Bay — With / For (= This word in Arabic literally means ‘with’. Here using ‘for’ conveys better in English the real intent of the original text)
- کُمۡ — Ko-moo(l) — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You all men. Here the Israelites. The addressees in the Scriptures generally are both men and women)
- الۡبَحۡرَ — Bauh-ra — Sea (= Big body of water; ocean; shallow beach where every waxing and waning causes huge rise and fall of ocean-water)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; hence; resultantly; so; thereafter; thus)
- اَنۡجَي — Un-jai — Saved (= Protected; recovered; rescued)
- نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Us. Used with God’s name it reflects the authoritative way a higher-up talks to a subordinate)
- کُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You Israelites. See کُمۡ above)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- اَغۡرَقۡ — Ugh-ruck — Downed (= Sunk; dragged down down in or submerged under water. This drowning is also mentioned in 007:137)
- نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Us. Used with God’s name it reflects the authoritative way a higher-up talks to a subordinate)
- اٰلَ — Aa-la — Followers (= Children; off-springs; progeny; folks; nation; people)
- فِرۡعَوۡنَ — Phir-auo-na — Pharaoh (= 1. The dictatorial monarchs of Egypt. 2. Also refers to a person who is awfully arrogant, extremely boastful, pride-stricken, with very rich vanity and a big ego)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- اَنۡ — Un — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; doubtlessly; in all seriousness indeed; positively; really; truly; verily)
- تُمۡ — Toom — You were (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You Israelites. See کُمۡ above)
- تَنۡظُرُوۡنَ — Tun-zo-roo-n — Watching (= Beholding; looking; observing; seeing with naked eyes; Right before your eyes; in your sight. See Commentary titled as “2 pronouns or 1 pro and 1 verb mean“

The Holy Qor-aan 002:050
وَاِذۡ نَجَّيۡنٰکُمۡ مِّنۡ اٰلِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ يَسُوۡمُوۡنَكُمۡ سُوۡٓءَ الۡعَذَابِ يُذَبِّحُوۡنَ اَبۡنَآءَكُمۡ وَيَسۡتَحۡيُوۡنَ نِسَآءَكُمۡؕ وَفِىۡ ذٰلِكُمۡ بَلَاۤءٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّكُمۡ عَظِيۡمٌ
Wa iz nauj-jai-naa koom min aa-lay phir-ao-na
Ya-soo-moo-na koom soo-aa ul-aa-zaa-bay
Yo-zaub-bay-hoo-na aub-naa-aa koom
Wa yaus-tauh-yoo-na nay-saa-aa koom
Wa fee zaa-lay-koom ba-laa-oon
Min raub-bay koom aa-zee-m
And when We rescued you from the followers of Pharaoh
They inflicting on you the worst kind of punishment
They taking life of your sons
And they giving life to your women
And in that was a trial
From your God Most Glorious.
** Note 002:050. Pharoah imposed upon the Jewish people a scheme to inflict extreme humiliation. God Almighty eventually removed it as a blessing. The Holy Qor-aan has told the story in verses 002:050, 007:132 and 014:007. The verbiage differs slightly are shown below.
The repeated message was that God Almighty had greatly blessed the children of Israel by rescuing them from the cruel clutches of Pharaoh and abjectly humiliating conditions
The Moslems were warned (Commentary Religions, Are Jews and Moslems alike) that the rule applied to all who behaved like Jews and any rescue would nevertheless take a period of humiliating torment.
