The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                      007:118

 

وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنۡ أَلۡقِ عَصَاكَ‌ۖ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلۡقَفُ مَا يَأۡفِكُونَ

 

Wa  oo-hai-naa  aiy-laa  moo-saa  aun
Aul-qay  aa-saa  ka  fa  aiy-zaa
Hay-ya  taul-qa-fo  maa  yau-fay-koo-na

 

And We revealed to Moses that,
“Place your stick down. Then look!
It’s devouring what they fabricate.”

  

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; but; moreover; though; when; whereupon; while; yet)
  • أَوۡحَيۡنَآ — Auo-hai-naa — We revealed (= v., past., pl., 1st person. This word is used for a good thing. Commanded. Directed. Disclosed. Dispatched. Gave. Inspired. Intensified, Kindled. Revealed. Roused. Stirred up. The past tense verb for single 3rd person is converted into that of plural 1st person as explained in Note 001:007. A/t/a, ‘We revealed,’ ‘We revealed … (saying),’ ‘We sent a revelation,’ ‘We put into … mind By inspiration,’ ‘We inspired,’ ‘We directed’ and ‘We said’)
  • إِلَىٰ — Aiy-laa — To (= In the direction of; to; towards. Sometime this word can              also mean for, till or until. A/t/a, ‘to’)
  • مُوسَىٰٓ — Moo-saa — Moses (= The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah)
  • أَنۡ — Aun — That ( So that. The fact is that)
  • أَلۡقِ — Aul-qay — Place (= v., pres., s., 2nd person. Cast. Drop. Offer. Place down.  Present. Put down. Throw. A.t/a, ‘cast,’ ‘cast down,’ ‘Throw (now),’ ‘Throw’ and ‘to throw down’)
  • عَصَا — Aa-saa — Stick (= n., Dang. Rod. Staff. Stick)
  • كَ — Ka — Your (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You, a single male. A/t/a, ‘Thy’)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= After all this; as a result; at the end; consequently; hence; in conclusion; resultantly; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus; yet. A/t/a, ‘and’)
  • اِذَا — Aiy-zaa — When (= Any event, occasion, opportunity or time. Also, behold; call to mind; consider; now that; ponder over; recall; reflect, remember; think of. A/t/a, ‘Lo,’ ‘behold’ and ‘look’)
  • هِىَ — Hay-ya — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. She. Ref to the stick of Moses. A/t/a, ‘It’ and ‘his staff’)
  • تَلۡقَفُ — Taul-qa-fo — Devouring (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Eating. Finishing. Gulping. A/t/a, ‘swallows up straight.’ But the past tense in ‘swallowed,’ ‘swallowed up,’ ‘devoured,’ ‘appeared to swallow up’ and ‘swallowed up straight away’ did not translate the Holy Qor-aan text in the present tense)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever. See Note 004:067. A/t/a,  ‘all  … which,’ ‘all that,’ ‘all’ and ‘whatever’)
  •  يَأۡفِكُونَ —  Yau-fay-koo-n — Fabricate   (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Bring about. Create an illusion. Magically show. Put up. A/t/a, ‘All the falsehoods which they fake.’ But the noun as in‘their lies,’ ‘their lying show,’ ‘their false devices,’ ‘their false magic,’ or the  past tense as in ‘falsehood which they showed,’ ‘they had fabricated,’ and ‘they feigned’ have not translated the present tense in the Holy Qor-aan text)

قَالَ أَلۡقُواْ‌ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَلۡقَوۡاْ سَحَرُوٓاْ أَعۡيُنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱسۡتَرۡهَبُوهُمۡ وَجَآءُو بِسِحۡرٍ عَظِيمٍ۬

 

Qaa-la  aul-qoo  fa  laum-maa  aul-qao
Sa-ha-roo  au-yo-naun  na-say
Wa  aus-taur-ha-boo  hoom
Wa  jaa-oo  bay  saih-rin  aa-zee-m

 

He said, “you place your spell. So when they placed,
They bewitched the eyes of the people.
And they scared them.”
And they had come with a great magic.

  

  • قَا لَ  — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person. Announced; called; conveyed; countered; declared; stated or told. See 002:031. A/t/a, ‘He said,’ ‘He [Musa (Moses)] said,’ ‘Said Moses,’ ‘(Moses) said,’ ‘He answered’ and ‘He replied’)
  • أَلۡقُواْ — Aul-qoo — You place (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Cast; deliver; drop; hurl; place;  present; put down; throw. A/t/a, ‘Throw ye (first),’ ‘Throw you (first),’ ‘Throw ye,’ ‘throw,’ ‘throw down yours,’ ‘cast,’ ‘you cast,’ ‘you make your cast’ and ‘You may present (first, what you have)’
  • فَ — Fa — So (= After all this; as a result; at the end; consequently; hence; in conclusion; resultantly; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus; yet. A/t/a, ‘And’ and ‘so’)
  • لَمَّا — Laum-maa — Surely when (= This combines two words. First word لَ (=la) means absolutely, certainly, positively, surely, truly or verily. The second word  ما (= maa) means any time, at such time, when and whenever. See Note 004:067. A/t/a, ‘when’)
  • أَلۡقَوۡاْ — Aul-qao — They placed (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Cast; delivered. See أَلۡقُواْ above as that word for the present tense in 2nd person differs from this word for the past tense in 3rd person. A/t/a, ‘they cast,’ ‘they made their cast,’ ‘they threw’ and ‘they presented (their devices).’ But ‘Throw you (first)’ in the present tense in 2nd person has not translated the Holy Qor-aan text with a past tense in 3rd person)

قَالُواْ يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلۡقِىَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُلۡقِينَ

 

Qaa-loo  yaa  moo-saa  im-maa  aun  tool-qay-ya
Wa  im-maa  aun  na-koo-na  nauh-no  l-mool-qee-n

 

They said, “Listen Moses! Would it be that you cast spell
Or would it be that we, only we, are Casters of spell.”

 

  • قَا لُوۡا — Qaa-loo — They said (= v., past, pl., m., 3rdperson: All those men announced,       called, declared or told. See Note 112:002. A/t/a, ‘The magicians said’)
  • يٰۤ — Yaa — Listen (= Be attentive; hearken; pay attention; ‘O’ and ‘to’)
  • مُوسَىٰٓ — Moo-sas — Moses (= The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah. A/t/a, ‘Musa (Moses)’
  • اِمَّا — Im-maa — Would it be (= This combines two words. The first اِنۡ means If; if situation arises; in case; under the circumstances.” The second  مَا  means All that, what; whatever, whatsoever; when; whenever; which; whichever. The combined word/phrase اِمَّا means In case, if ever, when, whenever the relevant situation arises, or could or would it be. A/t/a, ‘Wilt,’ ‘will’ and ‘Either’)
  • أَن — Aun — That (= So that. The fact is that)
  • تُلۡقِىَ –Tool-qay-ya — You cast (= v., pres., s., 2nd person. Cast, hand, show, pour, present or throw. Here ref is to a spell of magic. A/t/a, ‘thou throw (first),’ ‘throw you first,’  ‘thou cast,’ ‘thou throw first,’ ‘you make your cast,’ ‘throw (first),’ ‘you present (first what you have),’ ‘you cast first,’ ‘you throw (first)’ and ‘you first throw down your staff’)

قَالَ نَعَمۡ وَإِنَّكُمۡ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ 

Qaa-la  na-aum  wa  in-na  koom  la  may-na  ul-mo-qaur-ra-bee-n 

He said, “Yes. And you surely will be among those close.”

 

  • قَا لَ — Qaa-la He said (= v., past, s., m, 3rd person.; conveyed; declared; countered; questioned, stated or told. See 002:031. A/t/a, ‘He said,’ ‘Pharoah said,’ ‘(Pharoah) said’ and ‘He answered’)

Pray, Pray, Pray

 

GOD Almighty’s words in the Holy Qor-aan in the form of Soor-ra-tool Faa-tay-ha (001:All) are the best and most comprehensive prayer. It is an integral part of every Rakat in the Five Daily Prayers.

 

GOD Almighty’s word in the Holy Qor-aan has perpetuated some words with which His Prophets beseeched Him. I have used them all my life. Anyone can access them on 001:All, 002:068, 002:127, 002:128, 002:129, 002:130, 002:202, 005:115, 006:102,  006:163, 006:164, 109:001 to 007, 112:001 to 005, 113:001 to 006, 114:001 to 007, etc., on TrueTeachingsOfIslam.com where I have placed them by translating them to the best of my abilities in American English.

 

The Holy Prophet Mohammad, s.a.w, used to say the prayer frequently during Ramadan

                                                     آللهْمّّ  آنْتَ عَفُوُْ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ  فَآ عْفُ عَنِْ                                                                       Aul-laa  hoom-ma  aun-ta  au-foo-waun  to-hib-bool  auf-wa  fau-fo aun-nee                  Our God!  You are Forgiveness  You love forgiving  So please forgive me

 

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, a.s. called this prayer Iss-may Aa-zaum i.e. The Top prayer

                                              رَبِّ كُلُِّ شَيٍْ خَا دِمُكَ رَبِّ فّآحْفَظْنَآ ؤَآنْصُرْنَآ وَآرْحَمْنِآ                                                                               Raub-bay  kool-lo  shai-in  khaa-day-mo-ka  raub-bay                                                                      fauh-fauz-naa  waun-soor-naa  waur-haum-na                                        My God! All things are Your servant.  My God!  So protect us and help us  and mercy on us

 

Aforesaid prayers are with which our parents prayed for their progeny. I am the conduit to pass them on to their future generations. Beseeching the Almighty God with those prayers has always proved highly beneficial. Anyone in the Capitalist Society will find their prayers far more productive by starting with the following four Attributes of the Almighty God.

 

Allah! Who provides whom He chooses                                      اللّٰه يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَشا ءُ                                                                                       Aul-laa-ho  yaur zo-qo  maun  ya-shaa-o

Allah! The Provider of solid strength                                 اللّٰهُ هُوَالرٌزٌاق ذُوالْقُوَٗةِ الْمَتِين                                                   Aul-laa-ho  ho-wa  ur-auz-aa-qa  zo ol-qoow-wa  tay  il-ma-teen

Allah! The best of the Providers”  062:012                                          اللّٰهُ خَيۡرُ الرّٰزِقِيۡنَ ‏                                                                                             Aul-laa-ho  khai-ro  or-ra-zay-qee-n

Surely Your food you give is the best and lasting                      اِنَٗ رِزْقُكَ خَيْرٗوٗاَبْقٰى                                                                                     In-na  riz-qo  ka  khai-roon  wa  aub-qaa

The Arabic root  رزق  carries the meanings of food and provisions. The word  رَزَقَ,  (a verb, in past tense, for a single male, in 3rd person) means that he awarded, bestowed, blessed, conferred, delivered, donated, endowed, entrusted, furnished, gifted, granted, provided or supplied. Many derivates of this root are used in the Hoy Qor-aan.

A friend told me that for better results I should pray to GOD Almighty by addressing Him with His following names because their numerical value equals that in my name Abid Ali Buttar. My experience has been very positive.

وَجَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجۡرًا إِن ڪُنَّا نَحۡنُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبِينَ

 

Wa  jaa-aus  sah-ra-to  phir-auo-na  qaa-loo  in-na  la  naa
La  auj-raun  in  koon-naa  nauh-no  ol-ghaa-lay-bee-n

 

And the magicians came to Pharoah. They said, “Most surely for us
 Will be a reward if we, and really it is we, have been the subjugators.”

  • لَ — La –For (= For the benefit, object, person, purpose or reason of; intended for; meant for; concerning; regarding; relative to. Also, Belonging to. In the control of. A/t/a, ‘surely have,’ ‘shall … have,’ ‘shall have,’ ‘shall,’ ‘shall … be’ and ‘there will be’)
  • نَآ — Naa — Us (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us)
  • لَ — La — Certainly (= Absolutely. Surely. See  لَ  above. Also, belonging to)
  • أَجۡرًا — Auj-raun — Reward (= n., s. Award; compensation; good result; gracious gift; honor; prize; recognition; recompense; reimbursement; remuneration; reward; trophy. A/t/a, ‘a reward,’ ‘a (suitable) reward,’ and ‘a (good) reward.’ But ‘be richly rewarded’ and ’be rewarded’ are past tense verbs and no translation of the noun in the Holy Qor-aan text)

  • كُنَّا — Koon-na — We have been (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Combination of two words. The 1st word is  كُنۡ  (koon) that is a verb in the past tense and means used to, have or had been since the past, and is continuing from the past to the present and leads into the future, like ‘continued doing’ or ‘went on doing The 2nd word is  نَآ  (naa) meaning we, us or ours. The combination means We would have become, been, shaped, shown, taken or turned into. A/t/a, ‘we,’ ‘we should,’ ‘we be’ and ‘we are’)
  • نَحۡنُ — Nah-no … (ol) — We (= pro., pl., m & f., 1st person)
  • ٱلۡغَـٰلِبِينَ — Ghaa-lay-bee-n — Subjugators (= n., pl., Conquerors; dominants; predominant; prevalent; triumphant, ubiquitous; victorious; winners. يَأۡتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَـٰحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ۬

They will come to you with every knowing magician

قَالُوْآ اَرْجِهْ وَاَخَاہُ وَاَرْسِلْ فِی الْمَدَآٮِٕنِ حٰشِرِیْنَ  ۙ ‏         

 

Qaa-loo  aur-jay  ho  wa  aa-khaa  ho  wa
Aur-sil  fee  il-ma-daa-aiy-nay  haa-shay-ree-n

 

They said, “Return hm and his brother and
Send caller in the (= our subordinated) cities.”

 

  • قَا لُوۡا —  Qaa-loo — They said (= v., past, pl., m., 3rdperson: All those men announced,      ]called, declared or told. See 002:031. A/t/a, ‘They said,’ ‘other said,’ ‘others said,’ ‘they said (unto Pharoah)’ and ‘(After their deliberations) they said (to Pharoah)’
  • اَرْجِ — Aur-jay — Return (= v. pres., s., 2nd person. Send back. A/t/a, ‘Put … off,’ ‘put off … awhile,’ ‘put … off awhile,’ ‘put … off … awhile,’ ‘put … a while,’ ‘put … off (for a time),’ ‘Put … off (a while),’ ‘Keep … in suspense (for a while)’ and ‘let … wait’)
  • هُ — Ho –Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to Prophet Moses)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; but; moreover; though; when; whereupon; while; yet)
  • اَخَا — Aa-khaa — Brother (= n., Male son to the same parents. Also, Tribesman. Member of the same tribe or group of people.
  • هُ — Ho — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. See هُ above)
  • وَ — Wa … (ur) — And (= Conj., Links words, phrase. See وَ  above)
  • اَرْسِلْ — Aur-sil — Send (= v., pres., s., 2nd person. Dispatch; summon. A/t/a, ‘send’ and ‘send forth’)
  • فِىۡ — Fee … (il) — In (= About. Amidst. Among. Contained inside a duration, event, time, place, period, person, phenomenon, situation or thing. Also, concerning; for the sake of; in reference to; pursuant to; regarding; relative to. See Note 002:028. A/t/a, ‘into’ and ‘to’)

The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                           007:111

 

يُّرِيۡدُ اَنۡ يُّخۡرِجَكُمۡ مِّنۡ اَرۡضِكُمۡ‌ ۚ فَمَاذَا تَاۡمُرُوۡنَ

 

Yo-re-do  aun  yookh-ray-ja  koom  min  aur-dzay  koom
Fa  maa  zaa  tau-ma-roo-n

 

He intends that he brings you out from your land.
 So what do you recommend.

 

  • يُرِيۡدُ — Yo-re-do — He intends (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Aims, aspires, intends, pursues, seeks, shoots for, wishes, wants, etc., since the word is used for man. See Note: 002:186. A/t/a, ‘His plan is,’ ‘He intends,’ ‘He desires,’ ‘He wants,’ ‘who desires,’ ‘who would’ and ‘who seeks’)
  • اَنۡ — Aun — That (= So that. The fact is that –
  • يُّخۡرِجَ — Yookh-ray-ja — He brings out  (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Brings forth; brings out; bursts; exits; expels, extracts; gets out; produces; turns out.  A/t/a, ‘to turn … out,’ ‘to get … out,’ ‘expel’ and ‘to drive’)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You)
  • مِّنۡ  — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class, category, count, kind of several articles, things, persons or phenomenon. A/t/a, ‘of’)
  • اَرۡضِ — Aur-dzay — Land (= n., Area; country; earth; ground; land; soil; territory. Also, life on earth, nation; people; society in general. See Note 002:028a. A/t/a ‘kingdom’)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — Your (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You)
  • فَ —  Fa — So (= After all this; as a result; at the end; consequently; hence; in conclusion; resultantly; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus; yet . A/t/a, ‘so’ and ‘Now’)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — What (= What; whatever; whatsoever; at such time; when)

  • تَاۡمُرُوۡنَ   Tau-ma-roo-n — You command (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Advise; enjoin; propose; recommend; suggest. A/f/a, ‘advise,’ ‘counsel,’ ‘propose’ and ‘would you have  us do’)

قَالَ الۡمَلَاُ مِنۡ قَوۡمِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ اِنَّ هٰذَا لَسٰحِرٌ عَلِيۡمٌ ۙ‏

 

Qaa-la  ul-ma-la-o  min  qao-may  phir-auo-na
In-na  haa-zaa  la  saa-hay-roon  aa-lee-m

 

The leaders of the people of Pharoah said,
“This man surely is a knowledgeable magician.”

 

  • قَا لَ — Qaa-la — Said (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person. Announced; called; conveyed countered; declared; stated or told. See 002:031. A/t/a,  ‘said (to each other)’
  • الۡمَلَاُ — Ma-la-o — Leaders (= n., pl., Bosses; chiefs; heads; gurus; heroes; generals; people in the forefront. A/t/a, ‘some of the chiefs’ and ‘The elders’)
  • مِنۡ –Min —  From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • قَوۡمِ — Qao-may — People (= n., s., Addressees; attendees; fellows; followers; folks;     nation; party; people; tribe. A/t/a, ‘people’ and ‘the people’)
  • فِرۡعَوۡنَ — Phir-auo-na — Pharaoh (= n.,  Dictatorial monarchs of Egypt. Also used for one who is arrogant, boastful, pride-stricken, vanity rich or with big ego. A/t /a, ‘Of Pharoah,’ ‘Fir’aun,’ and ‘Poharoah’s’)
  • اِنَّ — In-na — Certainly (= Absolutely; assuredly; clearly; definitely; indeed; positively; surely; verily. verily. See Commentary “2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect.” A/t/a, ‘indeed,’ ‘surely,’ ‘most surely’ and ‘lo’)
  • هٰذَا — Has-zaa — This (= This particularly pointed out; present right here; what is in front of you. A/t/a, ‘This (fellow),’ ‘This is’ and ‘this man’)
  • لَ — La — Certainly (= Absolutely; indeed. See  اِنَّ  above. A/t/a, ‘most surely’)
  • سٰحِرٌ — Saa-hay-roon —  Magician (= n., One who practices magic, deception, enchantment, evil crafts and falsehood. Creator of modes of intrigues. Illusionist. Practitioner of sorcery, false impressions, trickery, witchcraft or imaginary untruths. A/t/a, ‘enchanter,’ ‘magician,’ ‘sorcerer’ and ‘some … wizard’)
  • عَلِيۡمُ — Aa-lee-m –Knowledgeable (= adj., He is a man who knows his craft well. Informed well. Expert. The One with real knowledge. Highly skilled. Knowledgeable. Well-Acquainted. Wel-aware. Well-versed.  A/t/a, ‘skilful,’ ‘skilled,’ ‘well-versed’ and ‘knowing’)
